You mean SOME people on the Island loved the decision...………..you're stating something that really doesn't need stating! A lot of the folks there are retired and many of the rest are in one of the marine industries! What would you replace oil with?

He doesn't live there.

You mean pointing out how you guys liked the feds buying out this project even though you condemn gubmint involvement?

Yea, it was pretty juicy watching you guys give up on the free market you've been proponents of for decades.

If trudOWE hadn't made such a message of the whole pipeline thing he would never have had to buy TransMountain. Buying was probably cheaper than fighting all the lawsuits that were about to come his way.Now he has let a bunch of government appointees put the project on hold for invented reasons. Invented to appease his ecotard supporters. The West gets ****ked again.
I fully expect him to sell the now significantly less desirable TransMountain to his financiers for pennies on the dollar.

The First Nations are happy about this. Claiming they were not "properly consulted"

Correction: Some FNs are happy about this, OB. The others who have signed onto the project are just as dismayed at this turn of events as are all of us who support the line expansion.

The First Nations are happy about this. Claiming they were not "properly consulted"

Again - some FNs are happy about this and a careful perusal of just what bands were involved in the protests shows that most of them have no skin in the game, OB - that is their territories do not lie in an area over which the line would cross. Meanwhile, all those FNs who did sign on to the line knowing that the benefits of doing so would help their communities are just as pissed off as the majority of Canadians who support the expansion.

Trudeau, the "champion of reconciliation" obviously miscalculated his hand, thinking that FN people would buy his empty platitudes and bullsh*t as much as the average Canadian seems to. I mean, Trudeau cried tears when listening to the stories of past wrongs and left him feeling “guilty” about his own privileged upbringing.

What does he do to correct these past wrongs and appease his guilt? Take crappy notes and pat them on the head? Fail.

Guess the FN chiefs weren't swayed by the fake tears and wanted more than a pat on the head.

Once the consultation process is finished for real and scientists are allowed to access the risk to the maritime environment the pipeline can proceed - if, given the true scientific review the government still decides to allow it.

Trudeau muzzles scientists. Trudeau hates scientists. Trudeau doesn't believe in science!!

Translation: The Chief was not given a big enough bribe.
Translation of the translation: The Chief has not full adopted the white man's ways. Bad Chief. Will the EU customers now allow Russia and Iran to fill the void we are causing by following the Courts rather than putting it through and then going to court over it like a good little capitalist would do.

Is South America covered or are they to be the new lab rats?

This is just grandstanding from Notley while they wait for the Liberals to appeal the decision.

But this is just more validation for the BC NDP who made the right call - to the surprise of everyone really.

LOL, mf. No thinking BCer was surprised by the call knowing as they did that once Hoggie sold his soul to the Greenies he was completely and totally beholden to any and all policy decisions they put forward. Truth is, had he been able to elect enough MLAs to give his government a majority, there would have been no court case. Hoggie isn't stupid and he well knows the importance of the pipeline expansion going ahead just as he knows that Site C and the LNG line are necessary.

Grandstanding? Declaring that AB support for Trudeau's goofy climate plan is contingent on completion of the TM pipeline is a bit more than grandstanding.

Although, I will concede one thing...it really doesn't matter what she says. This pretty much guarantees Notley's days as leader are done, which means so is AB support for Truedau's climate plan.

I knew there was more to that gesture. Some people just can't hold their emotions in, they have to broadcast it to the whole world.

What was one of the 'grievances', customer before line?

The next option is a right of way 100yds. wide for future development?

You can tell because they crossed their arms and said "Hunh."

I can tell because they are all over news broadcasts beating drums, waving feathers and crowing about how this a big win. Considering that so many of them doing so have no stake in the outcome other than all the economic benefits to our country which the line will provide and thus ensure a continuing steam of funds to their reserves, their glee over the decision is yet another example of how ridiculous and out of touch with reality the wanna be significant types can be. They have not one thought for those reserves who would accrue big benefits from being part of the project. So much for brotherhood.

Good luck fighting it in court.

If this court battle is any indication, the environmentalists have already won.

What brotherhood would that be? I'm an Indun, and I don't rightly recollect ever calling another Indun my brother.

Well, except my brother, that is.

'Brother-hood'. How many wins is that compared to the number of cases that have been in court since 1867. Part of the cheering could be over that rather than this one case was so important. If it is a must have access they cannot stop a road by itself bring put through and if that part follows the blueprint next comes heavy rail and light rail is for moving people so that would be further south. Then if a market opens up crude and NG going in last. In this day and age conveyor belt might be looked at. One plus is the energy needed to lift it over a mountain can be captured when it goes down the other side. There is a 200ft drop from AB to the coast.

That would put the FN in a position of put up or shut up so they would need to educated themselves on all the current laws and regulations and show that they can make the streams better than nature does when left to her own devices. BS has a few lakes that are messed up and no cleanup efforts other than putting up a 'sorry' sign. Make that part of the 'offer' and they get to supply the experts once they have some and the bands are the labor pool as they future is at the end of it all. Heavy industry and Eco-system co-existing.

What brotherhood would that be? I'm an Indun, and I don't rightly recollect ever calling another Indun my brother.

You sure you want that part near the top of your 'resume'? Collectivism is part of the 'pay to play' system,
