The Top Three things that force me to vote against the Liberals, NDP, and Greens are as follows:

1. Carbon taxes. Absolute idiocy. An assault on low-income people, the working poor, retirees......who pay very little income tax now, but who will be forced to pay higher prices for everything in a damaged economy.

2. Gun Control. Every party except the CPC has promised to steal some of my firearms. Completely outrageous.

3. Foreign Affairs. The other parties want much closer relations with both China and the United Nations.........and they despise our close relationship with the United States, and our support for Israel. This is the absolute antithesis of my position.

So, I vote CPC.

Colp ... have you even bothered to read past the place where it says NDP to realize the only additional restraint Layton has proposed on handguns is a total ban is up to the municipality? Might behoove you to shut your mouth and open your eyes/mind once in a while. Have you had your rabies shot lately?

Conservative's ......the only sane people living in or outside Canada .

Vote Conservative !

Are you sure that you are a conservative China. Your posts leave one wondering if you haven't become confused over the years since your departure from these shores (a diminishment of the weight of the fabric of this very nation to be sure) and you're remembering Canadian conservatism of a bygone era. Certainly I hope this is the case, the alternative is that you openly embrace fascism. Are you a fan of Musolini sir? Do you wear tiny little underwear with tiny little Hitlers printed all over them? (VOTE CONSERVATIVE! SUPPORT WWIII! GOD LOVES POVERTY)

Might behoove you to pull your head out of your ass and look around.......does not allowing municipalities or provinces to invole total handgun bans steal the weapons from people in those places?????? According to McGuinty, that means no handguns in Ontario.........NEXT!!!!!!!!

And this is simply a manouvere because the NDP has lost all its old rural base....once in, Jack will revert to what he said in May of 2007

This latest shooting incident is a terrible reminder of the power of guns to inflict pain on our society and why we must do everything in our power to remove them from our streets.
“Canadians need to feel safe at school, at work, in their communities. Yesterday’s senseless shooting is yet another reminder of why the government must implement legislation that much more forcefully controls guns in our society,

Seriously though, this from April 2007:
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/montreal/story/2007/04/04/qc-laytonguncontrol20070404.html

New Democratic Party Leader Jack Layton has urged the federal government to ban private ownership of semi-automatic rifles like those used in the 2006 shootings at Montreal's Dawson College.
Layton made the plea at the college Wednesday as he was being enthusiastically hosted by the college's Committee for Gun Control, which formed after Kimveer Gill killed a woman and injured 20 others last September.
"I'm here to urge [the government] to keep up the pressure for the reform of gun laws so that the kinds of guns that were used here would no longer be permitted," the NDP leader told a packed hall of students and staff.

Doesn't get much clearer than that, does it?

Or maybe it does.......

LAYTON: Would this particular instance have been stopped? Maybe not. In fact, it shocks me to know that this man -- [Kimveer] Gill -- was able to apparently obtain a semi-automatic weapon, or a pistol, to carry around in the city legally. This shouldn't be legal. Period.

And it's time that our laws said if you want to be walking around in a city, you're not carrying a gun. It doesn't matter what permit you've got, there's no reason for it, and you're not carrying a semi-automatic weapon under any circumstance . . .

Could [the gun registry] be run more efficiently, effectively? The Auditor General said there were better ways to run it, and that should be respected and those changes should be made.

http://media.www.theconcordian.com/...allenges.Facing.Young.Canadians-2317924.shtml

So what does that mean? I get to keep them, but can't take them out of the house? Notice he doesn't differentiate between rifles and handguns. it all "semi-automatics"

Obviously something important's being negleted and allowed to deteriorate. I know that the annual national grease job has been cancelled to make these apes look good and we are but one rusted ball joint from ditching the national ride.

The last time I looked, Ontario was a little larger than a municipality ... and McGuinty has no jurisdiction in your neck of the woods. Nobody will be touching your guns or trying to steal your penis or whatever it is you're worried about....

All any of your links reiterate is a stance against ILLEGAL weapons and carrying (except for the typical "I can't hear you" one)

Stevenson said politicians should also make psychological testing a requirement in order to own a gun.

Is this the one that worrys you so? Going by the serious lack of maturity in your paranoia ... I would suggest that somebody disarm you because it appears you are a raving lunatic - and that has NOTHING to do with ANY political party

(sigh) My God, Man! Jack Layton is a twit, with all the common sense of your average potato. I mean, I remember when his plan to stop guns coming in from the USA was to send a delegation to Congress to ask them to do away with the US Bill of Rights.......the man is not dealing with reality. Good Lord, he's another bloody academic!

Now, I may not be an academic....but I can read. You claim all Jack talks about is illegal weapons....... Perhaps you missed this:

Gill -- was able to apparently obtain a semi-automatic weapon, or a pistol, to carry around in the city legally. This shouldn't be legal. Period.

It appears he is talking about legal semi-automatics, which is what Gill had.......and how does one transport to a range without a license to do so? Which is all Gill had.

Which, BTW, specifies restricted weapons (such as Gill's Beretta Storm) must be trigger-locked, locked in a secure container unloaded, with the ammunition carried in a separate container......that's what Brainy Jack calls "carry(ing) around the city legally"

Here are the spending promises totals by Party.........from the Globe and Mail online edition.

The Greens have promised 22.5 billion per year of new spending.

The Liberals have promised 54.5 billion of new spending over 4 years.......a total of 13.6 billion a year.

The NDP have promised 41.9 billion of new spending over 4 years...... a total of 10.4 billion a year. (less than the Liberals!!!!!)

The Conservatives have promised 5.7 billion of new spending over 5 years......a total of 1.1 billion a year.

And WHO is going to drive us into deficit????????

just another reason:

VOTE CONSERVATIVE!
It's the only choice.

Hey Colpy good day to you and Harper gave away $50Billion on corporate welfare..enticements .

Why SHOULD this Gill guy have been carrying a weapon? Is he a cop or security officer?

So ... why would you want to be able to carry your weapon around in a city? A transport permit gets you too and from the range - a direct line. I know guys who stop here and there. One even had his handgun fall from its restraint right in the Coach and Horses Pub in Lindsay. But, he was coming home from the range. It's those types of idiots that make responsible gun owners pay the price. Which one of them are you? ...because to tell you the truth, just going by your narrow-minded rants and the venom you spout if someone dares to speak out against Israel or your right to shoot up the whole left wing for disagreeing with you, I really don't think you should even be able to look at a picture of a gun.

That's called psychological profiling. Ask your Saint Harper about his views on that....

I see Colpy is still happy about being over taxed.

Anyways, I live in Jim Farty's riding so I won't be voting con. Farty (CPC) is nothing more than opportunistic weasel.

I won't vote for Brent Fullard (Lib) because he is one of those former cons pissed off with the income trust scam being scrapped.

I was considering voting for the Doug Anderson (Green) but he's a little strange so I don't think I will vote Green but I am still open to it.

I'm almost sure I will vote for David Purdy (NDP), I know him, nice guy and has zero chance.

Well, they've had over 2 1/2 years now...........

I don't think the surplus would last long under the Libs, the NDP, or the Greens.....if they kept any of their extravagent election promises, anyway.

Go CPC!! :)

I would say that the Liberals have a pretty good record at paying down Conservative debt. In any case, that surplus, was more likely a residual result of the Liberals management than anything Harper did.

It's true, the surplus was handed to the cons, not earned.

The Libs were handed a huge deficit by the cons and turned it into a huge surplus while cons whined about being over taxed until of course the surplus was posted by a con then it's celebration time......here's a word for ya Colpy, the one you don't understand.

Hypocrisy.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Well, at least you learned how to spell it.

BTW, the guy that started deficit spending in this country was Trudeau.

Mulrooney was much worse in a number of ways, that's why I joined Reform.

Today's Conservative Party is not the old PCs.........funny how the Libs go on and on and on and on about how dangerously radically right the new CPC is, not at ALL like those nice old PCs.....then in the next breath try to hang Lyin' Brian's legacy on us........when more than half of us left the PCs BECAUSE of Brian's assinine ways....

Here's a new word for you to spell...
Consistency

(sigh)

Do you even read the replies?

Gill could not have been legally carrying the weapon, unless he was transporting it, trigger-locked, locked in a secure container, with the ammunition separate. Idiot Layton obviously knows nothing about the law, or about firearms. Which doesn't stop him from going on and on. No surprize there.

If your buddy dropped his piece in a bar, he was breaking sooooo many laws......and he is an arsehole.
