The federal government is reviewing a decision of the UN Human Rights Council saying Canada violated the rights of a woman living in Canada as an undocumented irregular migrant when she was denied health coverage under the Interim Federal Health Program. As part of its non-binding ruling, the UN committee says Canada has an onus to provide the woman with compensation for harm she suffered after developing serious health conditions that required medical treatment.Adam Rountree / THE ASSOCIATED PRESS.
(There is a certain level of argument in support of offering emergency medical treatment to people who have slipped and fallen while getting off the plane or been hit by a car while touring the city! But the idea that Cdns have an obligation to treat every illegal that abandons their own country and comes here in a cynical bid to DEMAND our charity is madness!)

And of course the prosecutor needs similar cash- then multiply that money by two accused killers! Then recall that it costs over $150,000 per year to keep ONE child killer in protective custody! Offering that misguided charity to the Dooleys has cost HUGE tax money!)

OTTAWA — The federal government is reviewing a decision of the UN Human Rights Committee that concluded Canada violated the rights of an undocumented irregular migrant by denying her essential health care.
(We did not invite her here and LIE-berals were remiss in not deporting her swiftly! And we did not make this woman ILL! We owe this woman NOTHING!)!
As part of its non-binding ruling, the UN committee says Canada has an onus to compensate Nell Toussaint for the harm she suffered after developing serious health conditions that required medical treatment.
The committee further says the Canadian government should review its national legislation to ensure that all irregular migrants have access to essential health care.
(And which illegals will step forward for “free” health care if it also carries a SWIFT DEPORTATION ORDER along with the treatment? This is WHY Nell Tousaint did not seek early medical treatment and it is why we owe her nothing as compensation for her “suffering”! Such a claim is MADNESS!)
Toussaint came to Canada as a visitor from Grenada in 1999 but remained in the country after finding employment, despite not having permission to work in Canada. She worked a variety of temporary jobs for several years before beginning the process of trying to apply for permanent residency in Canada — a process that was delayed due to financial struggles and her deteriorating health.
She did receive some emergency medical treatment, but was repeatedly denied blood tests and medical procedures because she did not have a health card and couldn’t afford to pay out-of-pocket, according to an affidavit she filed in Federal Court.
(Yeah- it’s a mess- that could have been CURED BY TIGHTER BORDER SECURITY! If she does not get in then she does not get our health care either! LIE-berals are so sloppy in all things they would rather offer charity to CONVICTED Muslim terrorists of Toronto 18 gang than deal with one sick woman!)
(This is the LIE-beral reality! By offering blanket charity to any vile goof who shows up- they poison options for others who have done no harm! Cdns are now growing HOSTILE to all immigrants because LIE-berals have so consistently chosen BAD ONES! In 2009, Toussaint applied to the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP), which covers certain medical services for refugees or those seeking refugee status in Canada. Because her refugee claim was not active at the time and she was living as an undocumented migrant in Canada, she was denied access to the program.
(Oh- a LIE-beral mandated LOOPHOLE that illustrates that even LIE-berals recognize that free health care for illegals is UNAFFORDABLE! Or at least it illustrates the usual LIE-beral preference for NOT WASTING their gravy on people who already support them!!!!!!!!!!!!)
She unsuccessfully challenged this denial in both Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal. Although the courts found her denial of coverage under the IFHP did constitute a deprivation of her right to life and security of person, they both ruled that Canada has the right to deny coverage for people who choose to stay in Canada without legal status.
(So the best thing for this woman would probably have been to DEPORT HER BACK HOME as swiftly as possible? At least she could get assistance from aid groups operating in her home country- which appears to be Haiti!)
In its ruling, the UN Human Rights committee found that under the optional protocol of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, even illegal aliens have an inherent right to life.
“Member states cannot make a distinction, for the purposes of respecting and promoting the right to life, between regular and irregular migrants,” the committee decision says.
It ruled Canada should provide Toussaint “adequate compensation for the harm she suffered,” and should “review its national legislation to ensure that irregular migrants have access to health care.”
(By CHEATING and sneaking into Canada, this woman is architect of her own suffering!)
Alex Neve, secretary general of Amnesty International Canada’s English branch, said the ruling is significant on many fronts.
(Yeah- it is significant that UN officials think that Canada should be bullied into trying to save the entire world- regardless of cost! Tighter borders would resolve much of this crap!)
“This obviously does highlight, and now we hope the government will address, a very significant human rights shortcoming in the country,” Neve said.
(Yeah- tell that to LEGITIMATE Cnds waiting for a chance to get a cancer test result from a backlogged lab! Or waiting for heart surgery from our RATIONED health care system!)
“This concern that, right across the country, individuals without regularized status have regularly been denied access to essential health care … has been the source of suffering, of fear and hardship for far too long.”
(Send the illegals HOME- it may be better for them in the long run anyway! One has only to think of the 8 dead Ukrainians whose over loaded swing stage collapsed at a Toronto apartment building and of course NONE of them were tied off to safety ropes since that would have slowed their work! Neve said refugee advocates hope the government will move forward with reforms that ensure health care will not be denied based on immigration status.

Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen’s press secretary, Mathieu Genest, was quick to point out the Trudeau government did bring back the IFHP after it was cancelled by the former Conservative government and that it is available to irregular migrants who have active asylum claims.
(AH! LIE-beral weasel words! One must have an “active asylum claim” - which this woman did not have!)
“Our government takes the (UN) committee’s views seriously and reviews them with interest. We will be closely reviewing the views and will issue a formal response,” Genest said.
(LIE-berals will file the report under “forget” as soon as possible! The cost of buying the vote of one sick woman in Canada when health care is already being rationed is to high for LIE-berals to pay!!!)
He also noted that the committee’s views in individual complaints are not legally binding in either international or domestic law.
