A new Iraqi TV show is in hot water after tricking celebs into believing they’ve been kidnapped by ISIS wackos.

In the prank show — called Tanneb Rislan — terrified stars are kidnapped, have fake suicide vests strapped onto them and are warned of their impending deaths.

“Troops” eventually come to their rescue and put an end to their ordeal.

In one episode, a comic actress named Nessma passed out from fear after she was fitted for a suicide vest.

International Iraqi soccer star Alaa Mhawi was also a victim of the pranksters and was shown blindfolded and begging for his life.

Now this is going to be funny. An Iraqi TV show is under fire for pranking celebs into believing they have been kidnapped by ISIS.

He pleaded with the jokester jihadis: “I’m your brother, I’m Iraqi and I represent the whole nation.”

Participants typically believe they were signing up for a charity show.

But what sounds like a riot to us is sparking outrage and accusations of bad taste in Iraq.

With sleeper cells of Islamic State jihadis still hovering in the background after their caliphate was pulverized following a bloody civil war, the wounds remain raw.

“This isn’t entertainment,” Bilal al-Mosuli, a resident of Mosul, wrote on Twitter.

Another added bitterly on Facebook: “Next year, we’ll have Saddam. Or we can throw guests into a river like the victims of Speicher (the 2014 Camp Speicher massacre, when IS executed 1,700 Shiite conscripts and dumped their bodies in the Tigris).”

Now, that is hilarious. OSAMA BIN LADEN. FBI

One person added: “I don’t see what pleasure you could get watching these people being tortured in this way.”

Show writer, Dargham Abu Rghif, came to its defence.

“The scenes are harsh but … if IS had won, artists would have had a far harder life, and all Iraqis too,” he wrote on Facebook.

Former porn star Mia Khalifa has unveiled her new tattoo and it takes aim at the ISIS death cult which threatened her life.

Khalifa — who was born in Lebanon — came under fire from the jihadist jerks when she performed a three-way sex scene while wearing a hijab.

While the action propelled her to the top of the porn charts, ISIS took umbrage, and threatened to rape, torture and murder the star.

Three months later she retired from porn.

Now, the 28-year-old beauty has been tattooed with the image of Asia Ramazan, who was killed fighting the terror group.

She wrote on Instagram: “Such an honour to have @jouseffdaniel draw this piece for me. It’s meaning will inspire me every day. Asia Ramazan was a Kurdish Women’s Protective Unit member fighting to defend Syria against ISIS. She died at 19 freeing the city of Manbij from Islamic extremists.”

Khalifa added: “Humbled that @jouseffdaniel considered me for the piece, and so thankful to @ivanatattooart for continuing the tradition of tattooing forces of change and hope on my body! Read up on Asia Ramazan Antar if you have a minute and need to feel inspired.”

Khalifa said the decision to wear the hijab in the sexy scene wasn’t hers.

“(The producers) gave me the script and told me what I would be wearing and I said: ‘You are going to get me f***ing killed,'” she told BBC’s Radio 5 Live. “Not even a week later the death threats were racking up. The entire Middle East was after me.”

She is now married and offers exclusive photos and videos on her OnlyFans page. Last year, she donated $200,000 to charity from her earnings.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ian Richardson said Ceasar was not responding to calls and the government believed her GPS tracking bracket had been “tampered with” and perhaps cut. He said the FBI and probation officials are looking for it.

Samuel Jacobson, a federal public defender representing Ceasar, said he believed his client knew she had a court date. “I can’t say for sure that she understood the specifics,” he said.

Ceasar received her four-year term from late U.S. District Judge Jack Weinstein, who cited her need for educational and mental health support after a lifetime of abuse.

But the federal appeals court in Manhattan threw out the sentence on Aug. 18, saying it was too short relative to “similar terrorism crimes” and failed to properly address the needs to ensure just punishment.

Prosecutors want Ceasar detained, saying she is a flight risk and danger to the community, and has repeatedly violated probation conditions since being freed from prison in July 2020 after being sentenced about a year earlier. She had received credit for time served.

Matsumoto said she was “concerned that additional violations … have occurred as recently as July.”

Ceasar was arrested in November 2016 at New York’s Kennedy Airport while preparing to leave the country. She began cooperating with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Islamic terrorist Saad Akhtar made Canadian history in a downtown Toronto courtroom Thursday by pleading guilty to first-degree murder in the commission of a terrorist act.

Akhtar admitted he bludgeoned innocent bystander “Annie” Hang-Kam Chiu, 64, to death with a hammer on Feb. 21, 2020, on a Scarborough street near Sheppard Ave. E. and Havenview Rd.

The guilty plea made the 31-year-old the first person to be convicted under this section of the Criminal Code.

Crown attorney Andrew Pilla — speaking on behalf of federal Crowns Jason Wakely and Howard Piafsky — described the grisly slaying as he read the agreed statement of facts before Justice Maureen Forestell.

Three hours after murdering the complete stranger, Akhtar, covered in blood and carrying a homemade bomb in a bag, surrendered at 42 Division and confessed he had executed the killing that he’d been planning since September 2019.

“The murder was a terrorist attack done in the name of the Islamic State and other attackers have targeted random people all over the world,” Pilla quoted Akhtar as telling cops.

“There is a war on Islam and there must be retaliation for what is being done on Muslim lands,” Akhtar told detectives.

He selected the victim because she was alone, not strong, and was the appropriate height to be attacked with a hammer.

He knocked Chiu to the ground with a punch, then fractured her skull with the hammer as she lay helpless on the ground.

“He wanted to kill as many people as possible, but the sight of the injuries that he inflicted on Ms. Chiu upset him and he decided to turn himself in.”

The victim’s sister, Winnie Chiu, said in her victim impact statement that “Annie” was a “wonderful, caring woman” who eagerly anticipated her retirement weeks before her unspeakable slaying.

“Annie mentioned on Jan. 24, 2020 at a family gathering, with excitement that this was the year, after working hard for over 40 years, at the age of 65, she could finally retire and enjoy her life,” wrote Winnie Chiu.

“I would never have imagined, within less than a month, she would be a victim of such a violent and lethal act, that abruptly ended her life,” she wrote. “I am devastated and heartbroken, at the same time.”

Another sister, Jenny Yuet-Sim Wai, called Annie “a guiding angel and a pillar of strength.”

“She took charge and looked after the family in all aspects as my parents had to work to make a living,” Wai wrote.

Annie encouraged the rest of her family to emigrate from Hong Kong and, despite a limited education, “was super positive in life.

Akhtar left one of two pre-written notes under the victim’s body. He was hoping police would kill him, court heard.

The note read, “Islamic State Baqiya.”

RCMP Const. Tarek Mokdad, an ISIS terrorist expert, explained Baqiya is a derivative term for the official motto of the Islamic State, “Baquiya wa Tatamaddad,” which is Arabic for “Remaining and Expanding.”

Islamic supporters shorten that expression to simply “Baqiya,” which expresses their desire to maintain the Islamic State caliphate in Syria (“remaining”) and continue their territorial expansion until Judgment Day, court heard.

Forestell automatically sentenced Akhtar, a loner and social outcast, to life imprisonment with no chance of parole for 25 years.

As weird and horrifying as the story is, that's a stereotypically Canadian end to a planned terrorism attack.

WASHINGTON — A British-born man who was a member of a team of Islamic State militants in Syria nicknamed “The Beatles” and accused of beheading American hostages pleaded guilty on Thursday to eight U.S. criminal charges including lethal hostage taking and conspiracy to support terrorists.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

Article content
London-born Alexanda Kotey is one of two Islamic State members who were held in Iraq by the U.S. military before being flown to the United States to face trial on terrorism charges.

Appearing before U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis at a hearing in Alexandria, Virginia, Kotey pleaded guilty to the murders of U.S. journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff and aid workers Kayla Mueller and Peter Kassig.

The charges carried potential death sentences, but U.S. authorities have advised British officials that American prosecutors will not seek the death penalty against Kotey.

Ellis said that under a tentative arrangement between U.S. and British authorities, Kotey could be transferred to Britain after 15 years’ imprisonment. The Justice Department said in a statement that given that Kotey agreed to life imprisonment without parole, if the sentence he serves in the U.K. is less than life for any reason, Kotey agreed “to be transferred back to the United States to serve the remainder of his sentence.”

Ellis added that as part of the plea, Kotey had agreed to “full complete and truthful” cooperation with U.S. and foreign government investigators and to supervised meetings with members of the families of hostage victims.

Kotey was a citizen of the U.K., but the British government withdrew his citizenship. He belonged to a four-member Islamic State cell nicknamed “The Beatles” because of their British accents.

The cell was suspected of taking part in graphic Islamic State videos posted online showing beheadings of foreign hostages.

A 24-page indictment includes a lengthy list of acts of torture that Kotey is accused of inflicting on hostages, including electric shocks with a taser, forcing hostages to fight each other and beatings with sticks and waterboarding.

Rehab Dughmosh, the convicted terrorist who attacked workers at a Canadian Tire four years ago, remains an unrepentant ticking time bomb determined to attack again.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

And so the Parole Board of Canada has wisely decided that Dughmosh won’t be released until she’s served her entire four years and 160-day sentence for four terrorism charges, which would keep her safely in custody until mid 2023.

But what do we do with her then?

Dughmosh, a 36-year-old mother of two, flew to Istanbul in April 2016 in an attempt to cross the border and join ISIS in her native Syria. Her brother tipped off the RCMP and Turkish authorities denied her entry and put her back on a flight to Toronto.

She told the RCMP she’d only been trying to visit family in Syria and the investigation was closed. In fact, her family was becoming increasingly alarmed by signs of her paranoia and fascination with online ISIS videos.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

On June 3, 2017, that fascination exploded in violence.

Dughmosh went to a Canadian Tire store in Scarborough’s Cedarbrae Mall, pulled out a black and white ISIS banner and tied a black bandana bearing the terrorist group’s symbol around her head.

She then charged at three store employees with a a butcher’s knife and a golf club.

“I’m here for Syria. I’m going to kill everybody,” she declared. “I want to kill all you white people. I’m from ISIS. I’m from Syria.”

Fortunately, she was subdued and disarmed before she could hurt anyone.

During her trial, Dughmosh mounted no defence and agreed to all the facts alleged by the Crown. It took a jury just an hour of deliberations before convicting her.

The judge blamed her mental illness and sentenced her to seven years less time served.

“Her illness rendered her vulnerable to extremist beliefs,” noted Justice Maureen Forestell.

That hasn’t changed.

ISIS terrorist mentally ill but knew right from wrong: Report

Originally placed in medium security, the parole decision says Dughmosh was moved to maximum security in November 2019.

The following year, she became angry while watching Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s response to recent terrorist attacks in France.

“You advised staff at the institution that you were thinking of attacking someone and that all unit workers were at risk, with no exceptions. You asked to be secured in a locked room,” the board says.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

Article content
Dughmosh was transferred to another institution for safety reasons but was returned three weeks later. However, she still poses a danger.

“You continue to voice support for the ISIS ideology and fail to comprehend the long-term negative consequences of aligning yourself with the terrorist organization,” the board says.

According to the decision, Dughmosh has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and ordered to receive psychiatric treatment for the next three years.

“You have stated that you will not voluntarily comply with psychiatric treatment,” the decision states. “Your unwillingness to participate in treatment increases your risk for acting out violently and engaging in terrorist type activity.”

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

Article content

Keeping someone to the very end of their sentence is a rare step that can only be ordered if the inmate continues to pose a danger to society if granted any early release. Dughmosh fits the bill.

“You have continuously exhibited violent and potentially violent behaviour throughout your incarceration. You continue to align yourself with a known terrorist organization and have threatened to commit a terrorist act if you are released in Canada.”

A June 2020 psychological risk assessment found Dughmosh believes she has a direct link to God and her religion justifies violence against a society she rejects.

While Dughmosh refused to take part in her February 2021 psychological risk assessment, her doctors reported that medication has decreased her risk, but she would likely stop taking her meds and return to her violent ways if not detained.

The board agreed: “You are likely, if released, to commit an offence causing death or serious harm to another person before the expiration of your sentence.”

So she will be held until her warrant expires. And then what?

The good news for us is Dughmosh wants to go back to Syria.

WASHINGTON — U.S. prosecutors on Saturday said they charged a Saudi-born Canadian man for aiding the Islamic State militant group, alleging he tossed grenades in battle and worked with propagandists who publicized the beheading of hostages including U.S. journalist James Foley.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

Article content
The Department of Justice described the man, identified as Mohammed Khalifa, as a “leading figure” in the English-language media unit of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, also known as ISIS.

The department said Khalifa narrated English-language recruitment videos and was a battlefield fighter before he was captured in 2019 by the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces, a militia group that controls parts of Syria.

He was recently arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and on Saturday, charges against him were unsealed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Islamic State gained global notoriety after releasing videos in 2014 of the beheading of U.S. journalists Foley and Steven Sotloff, and of British aid workers Alan Henning and David Haines. U.S. prosecutors allege Khalifa worked in the unit that publicized the videos.

If convicted, Khalifa faces up to life in prison.

Jennifer Wenisch, 30, was sentenced in a Munich court on Monday after being found guilty of “two crimes against humanity in the form of enslavement” in addition to aiding and abetting the girl’s “agonizing” death.

She was also convicted of being part of a terrorist organization.

According to the Daily Mail, Wenisch converted to Islam in 2013 and journeyed to Iraq to join the blood-thirsty death cult.

There, she and her terrorist hubby bought a Yazidi woman and her child to be their household slaves.

“After the girl fell ill and wet her mattress, the husband of the accused chained her up outside as punishment and let the child die an agonizing death of thirst in the scorching heat,” prosecutors said.

“The accused allowed her husband to do so and did nothing to save the girl.”

The newspaper said that Wenisch’s conviction is one of the first in the world related to ISIS’s brutal campaign against the Yazidi.

Judge Reinhold Baier said the child was “defenceless.” Wenisch, he reasoned, must have known from the start that the little girl was in “danger of dying.”

Her hubby, Taha al-Jumailly, is being tried separately in Frankfurt.

Wenisch said only that her failure to save the child was due to the fact she was “afraid.”

The child was only identified as Nora. Her mother testified about the horrors visited upon Nora and herself.

At the end of the trial, Wenisch moaned she was “(being) made an example of for everything that has happened under ISIS.” But she was a bit more than that.

She was a fanatic member of Islamic State’s hisbah morality police. Armed with an AK-47 assault rifle, a pistol and an explosives vest, Wenisch was an enforcer of dress codes, public behaviour and the bans on alcohol and tobacco.

Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney was part of the legal team representing the Yazidi girl’s mother. Clooney and others want what ISIS did to the Yazidis categorized as a genocide.

When two GI’s appeared in the door with their dog, al-Baghdadi pressed the button, killing himself and his two children. A tunnel caved in, injuring the soldiers and canine, but all three recovered.

Special Forces honed in on the 48-year-old’s compound after he was ratted out by a former Islamic State ally. DNA from a pair of his pants sealed the deal.

Before Islamic State, intelligence reports suggested that the fanatic was far from a devout Muslim. A serial rapist, he kept a small army of sex slaves scattered around the doomed caliphate.

At one point, ISIS ruled over vast swathes of Iraq and Syria in their so-called caliphate. In his only public speech, he vowed to “march on the West.”

But the jihadi did inspire a swatch of deadly attacks, including the Manchester Arena bombing, the Pulse nightclub killings, the 2015 Paris attacks, a beach resort massacre in Tunisia, and the San Bernardino mass shooting.

As the new kid of the terror block, al-Baghdadi never pulled off anything as spectacular as rivals in bloodlust al-Qaida’s 9/11 massacre. However, hundreds of radicals from around the globe heeded his call to arms.

Senate Armed Services Committee chairman Jack Reed (D-RI), had asked Pentagon undersecretary for policy Colin Kahl if he agreed with a recent assessment by Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, that “there may be a resurgence of international terrorism emanating from the region within 12 to 36 months,” according to the New York Post .

“I think the intelligence community currently assesses that both ISIS-K and Al Qaeda have the intent to conduct external operations, including against the United States, but neither currently has the capability to do so,” Kahl said.

“We could see ISIS-K generate that capability in somewhere between 6 or 12 months,” he went on. “I think the current assessments by the intelligence community is that Al Qaeda would take a year or two to reconstitute that capability, and … we have to remain vigilant against that possibility.”

Kahl’s fellow witness, Joint Staff Director of Operations Lt. Gen. James Mingus, told Reed he agreed with Milley’s assessment.

ISIS-K was behind the Aug. 26 suicide bombing outside Kabul’s international airport, which killed 13 US service members and 169 Afghans and ISIS-K has claimed responsibility for a number of recent bombings targeting Afghanistan’s minority Shiite Muslims.

The parents of British-born terrorist Jihadi Jack are seeking the help of politicians in this country to get him sprung from a Syrian prison to live a life of freedom in Canada.

Emails obtained exclusively by the Toronto Sun show that John and Sally Letts have approached MPs and senators asking for meetings to assist their son Jack.

Nikita Bernardi, a public relations consultant working on behalf of the family, makes an empathetic pitch for a man who has admitted to being a member of ISIS and willing to detonate a suicide bomb.

“Jack, who is 23, has been held without charge, and therefore arbitrarily and illegally, since 2017 by the Kurdish forces in overcrowded and unsanitary prison conditions,” Bernardi wrote last week.

Jack Letts was born in Britain in 1995, and beyond some trips to Canada to visit relatives, has never lived here. He was raised in the U.K., educated in the U.K., converted to Islam as a teen in the U.K., and went to Syria in 2014 at the age of 19 because he rejected life in Britain.

He is able to claim Canadian citizenship because his father is a Canadian who moved to Britain decades ago. His connections to this country, beyond asking for consular assistance, are negligible at best, but since the British government stripped him of his citizenship there in 2019, Letts may only be recognized as a Canadian now.

That doesn’t mean we should take him or lift a finger to help him, despite claims by Bernardi that Letts is owed, “assistance and protection as is necessary.”

“Unfortunately, the Canadian government continues to take no action towards repatriating Jack,” Bernardi wrote.

You can’t repatriate someone who has never lived here.

He went to fight in Syria, something he and his family have denied for several years. But a 2019 interview with the BBC shows Letts discussing his work with ISIS and desire to be a suicide bomber — if needed — in battle.

“I used to want to at one point, believe it or not,” Letts told the BBC. “Not a vest. I wanted to do it in a car. I said if there’s a chance, I will do it.”

In 2019, when the Brits pulled citizenship from Letts, then-public safety minister Ralph Goodale said the government was disappointed with the British government’s “unilateral action to offload their responsibilities.”

Asked for comment Monday, Marco Mendicino, the current public safety minister, declined to comment on any specific case, but a spokesperson said criminal charges and prosecution could be in the future of any extremist traveller who comes to Canada.

“It is a Criminal Code offence to travel abroad to engage in terrorist activity. If an extremist traveller is seeking to enter Canada, federal departments work together to tailor an approach to address the threat that the individual may pose,” said spokesperson Craig MacBride.

He added that the government could use tools, including peace bonds, the no-fly list, and revocation of passports in dealing with such travellers.

The family has filed complaints against both the British and Canadian governments and with the United Nations. Bernardi wrote that Canada can be held responsible for anything that happens to Jack while he is in a Kurdish prison.

Did the Canadian government send him to Syria to fight with one of the most blood-thirsty groups the world has even seen? No, they did not — he did that on his own.

There are Canadians, actual Canadians born here or who have lived here at least, held in foreign prisons for various crimes. We don’t get them all back, and we don’t have to try.

If Letts gets out of that Kurdish prison, he is Britain’s problem, not ours.
