German Teenager Dies Fighting the Islamic State in Syria

19-year-old German woman who joined Kurdish fighters battling Islamic State militants in Syria has been killed, according to a monitoring group.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on Monday that the woman, who has been named as Ivana Hoffman, died during clashes in the Tal Tamr region of Hasakah province in northeast Syria

Hoffman, who was a member of Turkey's Marxist-Leninist Communist Party (MLKP) and fighting as part of the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), had taken the nom de guerre Avasin Tekosin Gunes and been in Hasakah province for six months, according to an MLKP statement quoted in German media. The statement added that she fought "until the last bullet" defending a position from an ultimately unsuccessful Islamic State attack.

RIP young comrade.

Boko Haram in Nigeria has sworn allegiance to ISIS. So have terrorists in Libya.

ISIS and Iran are fighting. That's a battle of terrorists against terrorists.
So basically a repeat of the first American Civil war. In hindsight any coal miner from that day would say the slaves only got a title change and they had to feed themselves witout any 'raise in pay'. Please don't tell me it was started with a false flag operation also, . . . . or was it?

ISIS losing ground to allied Iraqi forces in Tikrit

Iraqi soldiers and allied Shia militiamen swept into the city of Tikrit, currently held by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), on Wednesday, launching a two-front offensive to squeeze extremists out of Saddam Hussein's hometown in a major test of the troops' resolve.

Explosions and heavy gunfire could be heard as allied Iraqi forces entered the city through its northern Qadisiyya neighbourhood, according to video obtained by The Associated Press.

Overhead, an attack helicopter fired missiles as soldiers and militiamen laid down heavy machine gunfire in the neighbourhood's dusty streets as downtown Tikrit loomed in the distance, black smoke rising overhead.

Officials quickly established a supply line to reinforce troops, Salahuddin police Brig. Kheyon Rasheed told the state-run Iraqiyya television.

Later Wednesday, allied forces also swept into Tikrit from the south in a pincer movement to squeeze out militants, though some suggested many already fled in the face of the advance.

"The terrorists are seizing the cars of civilians trying to leave the city and they are trying to make a getaway," Rasheed said. It wasn't immediately clear whether the troops and militiamen faced any resistance.

A clear indication that the pressure should be sustained, perhaps. Like any infection you don't stop the "medication" until it's completely annihilated!

Iraqi forces are taking care of things over there.

Now we just need Syria to do it's part and ISIS can be put to bed once and for all.

It would be better for ISIS and the Iranians to continue fighting each other until both are completely exhausted and drained.

Who has Iran attacked?

Why does Obama have Iran listed as a State Sponsor of Terrorism?

Not surprising. This is the second time the Iraqi Insurgency has been beaten.

They will never win.

Which is why worrying about ISIS is exaggerated.

You wouldn't think so if you were over there Flossy.

At any rate... once the allied Air Forces got involved, including Canada's, it was over. No need to let the cancer spread.

Speaking of cancer... so if you have a nasty form of cancer... and beat it... it was nothing to worry about?

Their murdering is exaggerated?

Flossy gets real upset when real world matters interfere with the spread of his religion. If people are thinking of things other than the cult of global warming interest wanes.

The fear of ISIS definitely is.

I liked that SNL skit where the American dad dropped off his innocent little girl for recruitment and he was tearing up with pride.

Hilarious stuff.

What's the matter Flossy? Getting called out on your immaturity getting to you?

Did they stop murdering?

I am sure he'd rather divert attention from that and just act childish.
