Residents near the Saskatchewan-Alberta border have been asked to evacuate as a wildfire burns in the area.

A wildfire emergency advisory has been issued by the Town of Burstall and RM of Deerforks in Saskatchewan due to a wildfire that is currently burning south of the town and moving northeast along Range Road 11.

Jackie Penny, who farms north of the town, said she was driving towards Burstall to help fight the fire, when she was forced to turn around.

"It just enveloped the sun. You couldn't even see the sun in some spots and there were leaves flying and tumbleweeds. It was crazy," she said. "I've never seen anything like that in my life."
