Kreskin, do you honestly believe that if Fox had completed the journey that he failed to complete, he would have acted modestly, with humility and dignity?

I have some ocean front property for you in Arizona.

Nothing can be said for certain, but based on the type of guy Fox was I think there's not much doubt he would have been modest about it. What did the man do to invite your denigration?

#juan, if someone declared that you are nothing but an attention-seeking, drunken fraud, since Julia Child and Emeril produced many cookbooks before you came on this forum as a culinary connoisseur, you would probably feel the same way as Steve Fonyo felt.

And FAR, FAR less justifiably so.

Jack, I'm tired of your nonsense. I've never been drunk on these forums and I don't know where you think I might have been fraudulent. I was asked to do the cooking thread and I have enjoyed it. With the exception of the occasional childish barb from you, I get along with most people here. I've cooked for family and friends for close to fifty years but that doesn't make me any kind of super expert but I do enjoy cooking. I've had enough of you Jack. Go away and pester someone else.

#juan, I am sorry, you misunderstood my post. In fact what I meant was exactly the opposite of how you interpreted my words.

The point I was trying to make that Steve Fonyo was always described by the press as a nobody, and while this may not justify his misbehaviour, he, at least deserve some sympaty in the face of unbridled malice. Perhaps the analogy I used was too easy to misunderstand.

Let me assure I have absolutely no problem with your being the head guy on a very successful forum. I read it regularly, and in fact tried and enjoyed many of your recipes.

I have far more respect for you than many of the posters here have for Steve Fonyo.

Jack: Are you trolling again or is it your inbred nature to look at everything backwards?

I think you may have hit the nail on the head. When there is money at stake it's not a bad strategy to pick the losers, otherwise????????????????

Terry Fox had nothing to do with Fonyo, so I fail to see why Fonyo is a factor in a discussion on the life and person of Terry Fox AT ALL. He didn't know him. He didn't know of his feats. He didn't factor into his voyage, his death, etc. You may know him and have an opinion on him, but, it is completely irrelevant to Terry Fox, who had no chance to weigh in on the subject. He has no place in this thread.

#juan, you did not respond to my post in which I explained that my defense of Steve Fonyo was an attempt to justify why people who are denigrated, despised and attacked, in spite of their accomplishments, like Steve Fonyo was. I guess even my second attempt was not clear or satisfactory enough. So, here is a peace offering, that I give you, and I hope you will receive it in the spirit in which it is sent:

Green Pea Soup with Pinched Noodles.

8 cups of salted water
1 cup of diced carrots
1 cup of diced potatoes
1 cup of diced onions
half cup of diced celey or parsley
1 teaspoon of chopped red pepper
1 sprig of parsley or celery leafs

----------------------------------------

4 tablespoons of flour
3 tablespoons of bacopn drippings or fat
2 teaspoons of paprika
2cups of water

----------------------------------------

4 cups of green peas, fresh or frozen
salt and pepper to taste
dash of garlic salt, if desired

----------------------------------------

2 cups of flour
1 egg
3/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

in the 8 cups of salted water bring to boil, carrots, potatoes, onions, celery, red pepper and celery leafs.
In frying pan, brown flour in fat, stirring to prevent burning; add paprika and two cups of water.
Pour mixture in with vegetables.
Add peas, season to taste.
Turn heat to medium and continue cooking while you prepare the noodles.

Combine flour, egg, water and salt. With your hands, mix dough until smooth and velvety. With floured hands, pinch off dough the size of hazelnuts and drop into rapidly boiling water. Noodles will come up to the top when done. Drain and rinse with cold water.

Add to soup and simmer until ready to serve. Water (or stock of your choice) may be added if soup appears to be too thick.

-----------------------------------------

Admittedly, this a labour-intensive reipe, but it is worth it.

I hope you will enjoy it.

Best regards and bon appetit,

Yukon Jack
