Is our justice system a hypocrisy?

Most aren't. What's your point?

95% of lawyers honest and honourable? On what planet?

I said "lawyers" not defense lawyers. Lawyers are comprised of barristers and soliciters. Many lawyers never see a court room other than for civil cases. Many lawyers simply interpret law and draw up documents.

Defense lawyers? They're the least slimiest. I was thinking divorce, personal injury and life insurance lawyers and that's just a start.

Luckily I've had very few dealings with lawyers. I have a feeling the ones you mention are about on a par with the sliminess of the people who hire them.

No, but that doesn't matter when dealing with people that make it up as they go along.

Oh, I think we have him figured there, Bear. I've found generally speaking that people who aren't quite bright enough to come up with their own ideas, will do their damndest to try to find some insignificant point to argue about. On another subject, I worked with a man years ago who thought he was happily married, until his wife of 17 years sat him down and told him it was over.........all the arrangements were taken care of, her lawyer had all his employment records, bank records, pension fund records, all the records of everything they jointly owned, so when she sat him down she had the bottom line right handy for him. In this instance (although she probably got the most cut throat lawyer she could find), the lawyer may well have been a decent fellow just doing what she paid him to do.

It's a lot easier for you to reread the post than for me to have to check back and then type another (totally unnecessary) post.

I have read the post. It was a response to me saying that divorce lawyers are slimy. Either you are part of the 1% of the population that feel divorce layers are not slimy or you feel people that hire them are slimy. Why is it so difficult to clarify?

You only list two of the possibilities.

Northern Ontario,
I only listed one..."they are slimy". Since your post didn't refute that statement, I asked for clarification. Why is it so difficult to clarify your position?
You must be taking lessons from Avro in asking inane questions just to change the subject, when you come to a road block.

If you don't think divorce lawyers are slimy, just say so.

How many divorce lawyers are there in Canada? 5000? They probably run the gamut from the integrity of the Pope to the sleaziness of Michael Ignatieff.
