better to have Patty assassinated during the leadership phase than during the election.

i guess christine regrets not pushing for the voting to be delayed.

Hopefully, she does not have a childish nature. If she fails to get behind Ford and the party, they will have to make her go away. My feeling is that she will. She's just throwing a hissy fit, borne of frustration. It's also a way for her to land a good job with the new government.

What happens within the next five days will tell the tale with the PCs.

Christine Elliott promised PCs unity, but refuses to unite behind Doug Ford
Elliott's dispute of leadership results takes spotlight away from Ford's victory

By Mike Crawley, CBC News

It was supposed to be a glorious moment for the Ontario PCs: revealing their new leader in an energy-filled ballroom, showcasing a rejuvenated, united party to a big TV audience, proving to voters that they are ready to win the election in June.

Instead, the Progressive Conservatives announced the winner in a small and drab meeting room, at 10 p.m. on a Saturday, with no music or bright lights, and only a handful of party members around to applaud Doug Ford's low-key victory speech.

I think Christine Elliott is really angry with how the votes were counted.
She is prepared to fight to the bitter end and knows that the odds are against her.
I think she feels a debt to Wynne for being a standout gal and giving such a high profile opposition person a job as patient advocate and realizes that it can only help Wynne with the battle ahead. In fact, Wynne may even offer her another position if the Liberals win again.

If she truly wants to be leader, she will have to grow up. The voters will see this and react negatively.

No doubt the party has told her to hush. Air your grievances after June.

I posted this in the other thread. Elliot is now quiet.

She has a point. Not unlike how Vancouver dominates BC politics - Toronto is the El Dorado of Ontario political life. They figure Ford will deliver the 416 vote.

Love the steaming coil the OP dropped. Yep, every party now has to have a female leader or else it's living in the past, man.
Well I think if you don't have a Black transectional, transexual lesbian, left-handed muslim as a party leader, you're living in the past, man.

The entire Left Coast dominates BC politics, Hoid.

It's simply propaganda. The same propaganda that Wynne will be using to try and tear down Ford during the campaign.

I think Ford is going to lose .....

The only way he can win is with a campaign of resentment and revenge against the present Wynne government.

If he campaigns with anger/resentment as his message, he will appear as a bully on the stage with the two women of the opposition parties.

If he campaigns without exactly spelling out his "Change" plans, he will appear as condescending towards the two women in the race.

Ford is not the "Macho" personality you want debating the two women sharing the stage.

Bullroar, all any person of average intelligence has to do is listen to wynne boast about 'Ontario's world-class health care system' when every ontarian knows full well it is best described as a titanic clone. Fords' job will be really eezy, just relate the facts. As for andrea she has lost her politcal compass and can't find an issue to hang her shawl on.

Wynne is in such a precarious position that all someone like Ford has to do is show up.

barring any huge blunders by the PCs (Ford), I can't imagine anything that Wynne could do that will change the outcome
