Okay, tell me old wise one.
How old is the earth?
Four billion and fifty five years.
Okay, tell me old wise one.
How old is the earth?
The sausage sucker sage opined, regarding people of faith:
"They aren't, one is fact the other is a fairytale.
I left that open for the braindead....see if I get a bite."
Here are a few examples of "brain dead" defined by the sausage sucker:
Galileo. Leonardo da Vinci. Sir Isaac Newton. Albert Einstein.
And here are some of the smart ones: Avro, Cliffy, SirJosephPorter, etc.
Okay, tell me old wise one.
How old is the earth?
Is this the same Galileo who was so viciously persecuted by the Church and forced to recant his science (that earth goes around the sun) under the threat of burning at the stake?
And the same Newton who obviously became senile in his declining years and claimed that he could scientifically prove that earth was created in 4004 B.C.? Toward the end he became the laughing stock of scientific community. Religions worked out quite well for both of them, didn't it?
Are you comparing me with Galileo and Newton? Why, thank you, I am honoured. To be compared to these worthies (even to one's disadvantage) is a great honour.
Don't you know that in this forum, for some strange reason, not blaming anybody in particular, fundamentalist Christians get the blame for everything.....so......the thread must have somehow been derailed by a Fundamentalist Christian......Are we still talking about Obama in this thread?

They elected Bush to office, they are all tea party supporters, they elected Harper....so....They must have derailed this thread....or at least It's their fault.......according to the all knowing "Wise One":roll::roll:
I am just finishing Never at Rest, A Biography of Sir Isaac Newton by Richard S. Westfall. This is the definitive work on the man.
Now, first let me point out that this is the individual that advanced mathematics by leaps and bounds past the standard of the ancient philosophers, the man that invented calculus, the man that first put forth the idea of natural gravitation, and
calculated how that attraction ruled the mechanics of motion in our solar system, the man that gave us the Laws of Motion, the man that first delved into the character of light and optics........and on and on and on.......
He could easily have been the most intelligent man that ever lived.
Not only all that, Newton was fiercely religious.....not in the conventional Anglican sense, as he was an Arian (one who does NOT believe the equality of the Trinity), a fact he kept secret most of his life. He spent decades in theological study.......and believed that science, the mechanics of the universe, the laws of physics....proved there was a God.
He NEVER claimed he could "scientifically prove" the age of the earth.
Far from senility, he presided over a meeting of the Royal Society days before his death.
This is the man you dare call a "laughing stock". Sometimes it is embarassing to be on the same planet with you.
Could someone quote this for SJP.....just to save him from making a damned fool of himself again......still?
Obama is a dutchbag!
So what?
Do you claim the earth is also only a few thousand years old?
So who's winning the discussion. Is Obama the worst president ever?
I have a serious question. How can cosmologists say they universe is certain amount of years ago? A year is the time a planet takes to revolve around the sun. If there's no sun, how can something be measured in years?
