What does Missouri have to do with anything?

Not a thing, conservatives just love to introduce red herrings at every stage. A conservative saying ‘show me’ about anything is really showing his preconceived biases, his prejudices.

It is like that Fundamentalist Christian who has offered a million $ reward to anybody who can prove evolution to him.

No doubt ironsides is prepared to offer a million dollars to anybody who will prove to him that CBS, NBC and so on are not extreme left wing, Communist news outlets.

Same way I am prepared to offer a million dollar reward to anybody how can prove to me the existence of God.

‘Show me’, indeed. Talk of red herrings.

Go take a walk in the nearest forest, spend 24 unhurried hours, contemplate the flora, the fauna, the beauty of it all........in the night, lay out on your back and see the heavens...........the billions of stars, consider yourself, your insignificance in it all......and then try and tell yourself that all creation, every miraculous individual aspect of it.....was some kind of colossal accident.

Hypothesis exceptionally unlikely, to say the least.

I'll take my million in 100 dollar bills, please have it delivered by Brinks.....

Oh!

He can't hear me....

How convenient!

:)

No disrespect to either side Colpy, but I think there's "two camps" here, the ones who know God exists just know it and the ones who don't never will. I respect both sides as long as they don't put down the other side. Cuz none of us (even the most arrogant) knows for sure.:lol::lol:

Colpy, those of allegedly high intellect take great pleasure of berating people of faith.

Yet, there is no greater leap in faith than declaring that everything around us (including, but not exclusive to the marvels you mention in your post) is nothing but a random coincidence.

To those who don't believe in anything and claim to be superior because of it....
What harm am I doing to you by believing in something, as long as I don't knock on your door and try to convert you.......

So STFU already and keep your condescending attitude to yourself.....

No an uncommon occurence Y.J. - most of us if we don't understand something say so (there is no shame in that) , but with some of the most crassly arrogant, of course if they don't understand it just add to their ignorance and arrogant by denying it.:lol:

None. The problem is many of them are not content with that, they want their theology made into the law. Thus they want to ban abortion, want to criminalize homosexual behavior, want to restrict contraception to married couples, want to make teaching Book of Genesis in public schools mandatory, in addition to or in place of evolution and so on.

When your theology starts impinging upon my freedom, my choices, I am going to speak up. As somebody once said, your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins.

Except science blows you out of the water in every single area of faith.

Maybe all that proves is that science and religion aren't mutually compatible...........

They aren't, one is fact the other is a fairytale.

I left that open for the braindead....see if I get a bite.

Science and religion cover different realms, science works toward facts, but hasn't necessarily achieved all of them yet. There are aspects to religion that I believe are fairy tales, but that is just my beliefs, and I sure as hell aren't above trying to ram them down anyone else's throat.

Northern Ontario,
Real scientists are not so insecure as to try to constantly berate those who don't agree with with them ...Only the (note religious term) "fervent" atheist feels
that need...he then falls in the same category as the bible thumping sanctimonious evangelist.
If that shoe fits anyone...feel free to walk all over this post without another response from me...Cheers

Guy goes into a bar, there's a robot bartender.
The robot says, "What will you have?"
The guy says, "Martini."
The robot brings back the best martini ever and says to the man, "What's your IQ?"
The guy says, "168."
The robot then proceeds to talk about physics, space exploration and medical technology.

The guy leaves, but he is curious...So he goes back into the bar.
The robot bartender says, "What will you have?"
The guy says, "Martini."
Again, the robot makes a great martini gives it to the man and says, "What's your IQ?"
The guy says, "100."
The robot then starts to talk about Nascar, Budweiser and John Deere tractors.

The guy leaves, but finds it very interesting, so he thinks he will try it one more time. He goes back into the bar.
The robot says, "What will you have?"
The guy says, "Martini," and the robot brings him another great martini.
The robot then says, "What's your IQ?"
The guy says, "Uh, about 50."
The robot leans in real close and says,
"Sooo, 'you people' still happy you voted for Obama?"

The sausage sucker sage opined, regarding people of faith:

"They aren't, one is fact the other is a fairytale.

I left that open for the braindead....see if I get a bite."

Here are a few examples of "brain dead" defined by the sausage sucker:

Galileo. Leonardo da Vinci. Sir Isaac Newton. Albert Einstein.

And here are some of the smart ones: Avro, Cliffy, SirJosephPorter, etc.

Draw your own conclusions.
