Is it moral for God to punish us?

I had no idea gnosticism was so fatalistic, DL.

We are not.

That is the Christian view. Not the Gnostic Christian one.

Ours is a Universalist religion and none of us or anyone else is ever condemned by a God of any kind.

DL

I'm guessing that the god this thread is a bout concerns the Christian god. In which case, hypocrisy is not on my list of good qualities, no. Immaturity, maliciousness, jealousy, pettiness, and given a few minutes, I could likely think of a few more qualities of this god that are not on my list of good qualities.
For a while it had me wondering who was actually the worst, Jehovah or Satan. I could not reach a conclusion so I quit wondering. It is one of the things that led me to become agnostic. That and the complete lack of verifiable, reliable evidence of involvement.

Good for you.

Hint to "who was actually the worst, Jehovah or Satan."

Count the bodies. Satan has a few, Jehovah has them by the ton.

The Christian view is the view from the cross and the empty tomb, DL.

The Christian view is quite hard for me to know, --- because I have never looked with their eyes from inside God's ***, --- where they keep their heads.

That aside, it would depend on the Christian and just how delusional they are.

Sniped for clarity but I did not see where anyone gets out of hell.

I did not even see the word hell.

M't:25:41:
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand,
Depart from me,
ye cursed,
into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels:

Isa:14:9-17:
Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming:
it stirreth up the dead for thee,
even all the chief ones of the earth;
it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
All they shall speak and say unto thee,
Art thou also become weak as we?
art thou become like unto us?
Thy pomp is brought down to the grave,
and the noise of thy viols:
the worm is spread under thee,
and the worms cover thee.
How art thou fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer,
son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground,
which didst weaken the nations!
For thou hast said in thine heart,
I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God:
I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation,
in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will be like the most High.
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell,
to the sides of the pit.
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee,
and consider thee,
saying,
Is this the man that made the earth to tremble,
that did shake kingdoms;
That made the world as a wilderness,
and destroyed the cities thereof;
that opened not the house of his prisoners?

Zec:13:8:
And it shall come to pass,
that in all the land,
saith the LORD,
two parts therein shall be cut off and die;
but the third shall be left therein.
Zec:13:9:
And I will bring the third part through the fire,
and will refine them as silver is refined,
and will try them as gold is tried:
they shall call on my name,
and I will hear them:
I will say,
It is my people:
and they shall say,
The LORD is my God.

Re:20:13:
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it;
and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them:
and they were judged every man according to their works.

Lu:16:23:
And in hell he lift up his eyes,
being in torments,
and seeth Abraham afar off,
and Lazarus in his bosom.

The rich man represents Jews and they can be in hell for the time it takes for the trumps to unfold.

Well that's a good thing you can be as disingenuous as you like and no worries.

moral for punishing people?
im still waiting for one of you folks with an invisible friend in the sky to prove he/she actually exists

believing in things that aren't there is falling into greater and greater disfavor of late

god aint the problem
reality though, may be just a waitin in the bushes with that whip

God is electricity, plasma actually or light if you like, as such it is hardly invisable. It can also make humming birds and sharks with equal
expertise. Of course the electricity has been humanized with a beard and long flowing robes for those who have trouble visualizing the awsume fu ckin power of utra high intensity light. God aint the problem, it's the idiots what it built with the odd brains, rabits bugs birds grass all know and obey god the Sun cuz they know what disobediance gets them, sweet fu ck all or worse.

So God created "idiots" but he's not the problem.

See, here's another reason God is a jerk. How many thousands did God command the Israelites to kill over the years? How many innocent people did he kill with the flood? How many innocents died on the cities of the plain when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, and 3 other cities in the process?
Yet he didn't kill Satan when Satan decided to f*ck with God's creation. And since God knows all in advance, he would have known what Satan was going to do. He should have taken him out and saved humanity a shyte-load of suffering.
No, instead God does sh*t like torture Job to prove a point to Satan. What a swell guy. A real humanitarian.

Uh oh. Wally don't like it when I bad-mouth God. lol

You would do better to be worried about the things in front rather than the things behind.

Joe:2:11:
And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army:
for his camp is very great:
for he is strong that executeth his word:
for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible;
and who can abide it?

You like to skate around the point you eventually will arrive at. I find your question somewhat disingenuous .

I feel real bad about hurting God's feelings.

That is strange. God sends people to hell before judging them.

Is that moral?

Tru dat : )

What was the last count? 3,000 cults?

Plus all those other Christians who are making up their own theologies because they can't take the immoral genocidal son murderer.

Fear, fear, fear. That is all bible God has to persuade. No intelligence or love. Just fear.

Quite the parent.

If the believer has money, sure.

I guess that is also why Christians take their young boys to church.

For the money.

Are you seeking from God the type of intelligence and love displayed in the following excerpt, DL?

"The Christian view is quite hard for me to know, --- because I have never looked with their eyes from inside God's ***, --- where they keep their heads. That aside, it would depend on the Christian and just how delusional they are. Regards DL"

If so, I agree. You will not find this type of intelligence or love in the Bible.

You could always foil His plan by being the first person to refuse to die.

The first?

I thought Jesus was first.

I will find this type of love there.

“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”

I will never understand the logic of railing against an entity that one contends does not exist.
