America had it's chance under Khatami. Why did they blow them off?
What does that have to do with these 2 idiots?
This is no different than those dumb twats that "wandered" into North Korea.
Those two idiots were more than likely working for a three letter agency. What does that have to do with these 2 idiots?

rational thought seems sparse at best.
who?? you mean our ready to NUKE anyone and everyone on no justifiable basis fellow member??? You mean the trigger happy , shoot from the mouth, knee jerk response member that believes anything outside his/her thought patterns is "kool aide". ( an over used, and tired phrase at best)
Those two idiots were more than likely working for a three letter agency.
Had there been open dialogue during Khatami regime Iran would have been an ally in A-Stan and none of todays' bull**** would exist. That what it has to do with two American D h i p s h i t s .
Why on earth would they be there in the first place? Camping?

That makes as much sense as saying Powers was only taking pictures of Siberia for National Geographic because it is so beautiful when his U2 was shot down.

First of all we do not know if these three actually, the girl was released, drifted in to Iran. That is not
the point. Anyone who would go hiking along the Iraq-Iran boarder under the current conditions there
should be charged, convicted, and sentenced for stupidity if nothing else. The problem is all too many
young people perceive the whole world is a democracy and safe for their generation to hike or travel
in and this is not the case. The fact is they were travelling in a secondary war zone, a no mans land
and that is not safe to do so.
Now the real action will start. Iran and America or someone acting on behalf of America will start
talking about how to return the two home. Always works this way. First the charges and hoopla,
then the trial, a show trial and then the secret talks and then the release on humanitarian grounds
and the accusations and counter accusations that everyone will play up. Give me a break, I
am sick to death with people like this creating problems constructed from acts of pure selfishness.
You can't go walking in the daisies in a war zone there is a price for that. They are lucky they didn't
get shot.
This is a case of meet Mr. Consequence.
They were hiking on Iranian ground space. You or I would be tossed into the clink if we walked into Montana unannounced.
I find it hard to believe these "nature lovers" weren't packing a GPS to keep them from being caught across a border whether working for a three letter agency or not.Yup, as were they. What I don't understand is the surprise some people are showing. The disdain expressed because they have been found guilty and sentenced to prison. None of it is a surprise.
People are upset because they think some people should be able to go where they please and
do what they please. No one told them these countries are not colonies anymore. We have
TV outlining how every nation should embrace the western system of government and any that
don't are somehow evil. That gives people this false sense of security that they have rights no
matter where they are and this is just not so.
I think Iran did one good thing to their credit, they found a way to let the young lady go home.
That was a gesture done for the world cameras and for the fact they didn't quite know how to
handle the bad press from even their friends on the world stage.
The fact is they were in an area that is either Iranian territory or claimed as being so in which case
they were either of the following.
1 spies
2 fools
3 idiots
4 out of touch with reality
5 All of the above.
Take your pick there is a price to pay for that. America does not rule the world its just they don't
know that yet.
I was with ya all the way to the highlighted line. The u.s. itself has nothing to do with these idiots.

It's rather simple. If you break somebody else's law in their country be prepared to see their penal system from the inside.
