Iran: Death Sentences for Fraud

Tags:

An Iranian court on Monday confirmed the death sentences for four people convicted of participating in a $2.6 billion embezzlement scheme, the biggest fraud in Iran’s history. The four bankers and businessmen, including Mahafarid Amirkhosravi, the chief executive of the Arya Investment Group, were convicted of “disturbing the country’s economic system through collusion and corruption in the banking network.” They cannot appeal the court’s decision.

You mean relative to the various terrorist groups that are funded by entities from that region?

Well we have five or six entities from that region who won't be terrorizing old ladies and children ever again don't we? Really effective high tech terrorism requires lots of fanatical capital if it is to be efficiently utilized and boost economies. I can't criticize you for your perspective after all you are the captain and if you have to go down with the Western Star so be it, I salute you. violins please

We should ask if Iran wants to borrow some from us. The CIC can't deal with them, the courts can't deal with them, etc. By all appearances, it looks like the best front we have against fraudsters are W5 and the 5th Estate.

Remember before one would want to adopt the same kind of law, it has to be put
into perspective. In order to accept such a law it should be pointed out we would
be going from a justice system to a revenge system complete with theology at
the center of it. Tyrants has some good suggestions in isolated cases however a
system based on tyranny has other more serious drawbacks. I can see the need
for life in prison but State sponsored murder for fraud is not really a good idea.

I was merely pointing out that some like to cheer on radical laws as a simple
method of putting an end to such crimes. Banning all guns, castrating all sex
offenders and executing all fraudsters. You may do any or all of these things
but the problem does not go away it remains.
Iran is a theological hell hole and religion at its worst is the cause, much like
the tyrants of the Christina faith a few generations ago and more recently in
Uganda where they have taken control of Government for the most part.
The post refers to the bankers nightmare but it would be societies nightmare
in actuality

Actually bankers are already societies nightmare and have been for a very long time. If you look to end war famine disease and international crime you could do no better service to mankind than to begin the reform of international private banking.

I think it is a hell of a good idea. I bet all the people Bernie Madoff scammed wouldn't loose too much sleep if his neck stretched a bit. In fact I think we should expand on such a wonderful idea and include politicians that steal.

When their winter home in Florida became too much of a burden, my parents sold it and invested with a reputable agency. Three years later, the investment was gone. Those types of crook wouldn't hurt my conscience a bit if they were gone too.

Bankers to be executed?

Aha!

Iran is obeying the Bible which is what Christian professing right wingers want in this country: Ezekiel 18:13 ~ death to bankers!

As for those bankers, now they know how it's like not to have separation of church and state.

Amazing the stuff we find in history ain't it. There in the remote past the problem with private banking was studied and the fix arrived at by long diligent investigation and discussion after which the now ages old treatment was agreed upon and adhered to while the facts remained visible to the people. We are a very ignorant remnant of what we once were.
