There's always assasination.... Oops! You heard it here first. That makes us all part of the conspiracy....

Why? The man is finished. His 8 years are up. The summer is almost over. There are a measley 4 months to election day. After that the change of the presidency will just be down to dotting the "i's" and crossing the "t's".

basically that is what he feels about your impeachment.

Face it...it's over. You have no other recourse. You have lost.

Think of all the paper wasted on petitions. What a dent on the environment.

Yeah ... it's not even worth the bullet and the life-long hide after (no matter how many hours it is;-)) Okay ... yer all off the hook. Conspiracy cancelled!

You've got to be kidding. He has lied numerous times to justify his illegal war, destroyed their economy, killed innocent people.

Just wait until he is out of office, he'll be charged with war crimes, too.

He is just as bad as hitler.

As bad as Hitler....

You should really try thinking before you post....just try....I know it hurts, but it spares the rest of us a lot of pain......

Big crowd gathers for House Judiciary hearing on Bush "impeachment"

A boisterous crowd has already gathered for today's hearing in the House Judiciary Committee on the case for impeaching President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) has been leading the charge on the issue, and although House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.) have said there will be no formal impeachment hearings, they've given Kucinich and his allies a session today to make the case.
There are at least 100 people in line to attend the hearing, and the committee has announced that there will be two "overflow" rooms to accommodate everyone who wants to watch the proceedings.
The crowd is definitely in a festive mood and appears to be a merging of the anti-Iraq war and Bush-hater crowds, if they aren't already one body, anyway.
But the Capitol Police aren't expecting a lot of problems during today's session. "This is a happy crowd," one Capitol Police officer told another as they discussed arrangements for the hearing. "They love what is happening here, so it shouldn't be too bad."

The House Judiciary Committee has released its witness list for Friday's hearing on Rep. Dennis Kucinich's (D-Ohio) impeachment resolution. One big surprise — a House Republican will testify.

Former Rep. Bob Barr, the Libertarian Party's presidential candidate, is also scheduled to testify. Barr was a Republican from Georgia during four terms in the House.
Kucinich, as expected, will testify as well.
Here's the full witness list released by the Judiciary Committee for Friday's session:
The Honorable Dennis Kucinich, Representative from Ohio
The Honorable Maurice Hinchey, Representative from New York
The Honorable Walter Jones, Representative from North Carolina
The Honorable Brad Miller, Representative from North Carolina

At Friday's Impeachment Hearing, Congressional Democrats Must Act

Submitted by Bob Fertik on July 24, 2008 - 7:36pm. Friday's hearing marks the first official step in the process of holding George Bush accountable for committing the most serious crime in American history: sending brave young Americans to fight, kill, and die in Iraq on the basis of lies.
The evidence of Bush's crime is overwhelming, and public support for holding Bush accountable is overwhelming. The only question is whether Congressional Democrats will use the only accountability power they have, namely impeachment.
We know the White House, the Republican Party, and the Corporate Media will fight impeachment to the death. But that is no excuse for Congressional Democrats to evade their unique and urgent responsibility. The American people will be watching.

Is hearing to impeach Bush merely 'anger management'?

They lined up by the hundreds to be a witness to history at the Judiciary Committee's unofficial impeachment hearings of George W. Bush today.
It wasn't called that of course. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-S.F.) had balked at a real impeachment hearing. Something about fearing a voter backlash from the public, already in a bad mood about Congress' inaction on core issues.
But today's hearing by the House Judiciary Committee -- billed as an inquiry to the Bush administration's use of executive power -- was ripe with opportunity for those who want to evict the president from office.
Rep. Robert Wexler (D-Fla.) accused the administration of diminishing legislative power "beyond recognition" and cited "a litany of wrongful actions," accusing the White House of "a dangerous consolidation of power."
Rep. Maurice "Mo" Hinchey (D-N.Y.) said of the White House, "I think this is the most impeachable administration in the history of our country."
But Republicans (except for one, Rep. Walter Jones of North Carolina, an outspoken Bush foe) defended the White House.
Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, the ranking Republican on the committee, belittled Democrats' attempts to turn the proceedings into an impeachment forum. If last month's hearing with former White House spokesman Scott McClellan amounted to a "Book of the Month Club," he said, today's is "an anger management class. Nothing is going to come out of this hearing on impeachment."
And Rep. Steve King of Iowa argued that after 45 hearings -- with such witnesses as Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff David Addington, McClellan and former
Ambassador Joe Wilson -- there was no evidence that the Bush administration had committed any high crimes and misdeameanors. King also claimed that a recently declassified CIA document proves the president's controversial 16-words in his 2003 State of the Union address about Saddam Hussein seeking uranium from Niger are corroborated by Wilson's report.
Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.) reminded them both that "to the regret of many, this is not an impeachment hearing."
The hearing did however afford an opportunity for Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) to air one of his 35 articles of impeachment about Bush -- the one about manipulating intelligence to hoodwink the public and Congress about Iraq's stockpile of weapons of mass destruction.
And the hearing also gave an opportunity for former Rep. Bob Barr of Texas, now the Libertarian Party's presidential standard bearer, to note that because of the Bush administration's politicalization of the Justice Department, four times as many Americans now have more trust in the Post Office.

Hey America! Pelosi Handed You a Booby Prize! What Are You Going To Do With It?
by Cheryl Abraham Page 1 of 1 page(s)

This Friday, July 25th 2008, could be a day where a small portion of the Bush regime’s long list of dirty laundry might get an airing, but if Americans hit the snooze button on this tiny window of opportunity it could be a huge set-back for the impeachment movement. What’s the big July 25th Nancy Pelosi Booby Prize event? The Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing at 10am in the Rayburn Bldg in DC tentatively named, “The Imperial Presidency of George W. Bush”. While this hearing is a disappointing second, (hence a “Booby Prize”), to an official impeachment hearing it is nonetheless one more tiny step in the impeachment direction. During his portion of the hearing, (he’s rumored to be only allowed 7.5 minutes to speak), Congressman Dennis Kucinich will present a petition bearing the names of thousands of people who have signed onto his impeachment petition. (And if you are taking the time to read this article take the 15 extra seconds to sign the petition yourself here.) There is a 9am rally outside the Rayburn Bldg to get things off to a good start.
How did this sad second to having meaningful impeachment hearings start? In a shocking shift in modus operandi Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, in a very limited way, put impeachment back on the table by her statement that the impeachment issue is a, “…Judiciary Committee matter, and I believe we will see some attention being paid to it by the Judiciary Committee,” she said. “Not necessarily taking up the articles of impeachment because that would have to be approved on the floor, but to have some hearings on the subject.” So Pelosi said there should be “..some hearings on the subject.”

At www.afterdowningstreet.org, David Swanson’s article, “How They'll Try to Bury Impeachment and Fail” states, “In response to public demand for impeachment hearings and pressure from Congressman Dennis Kucinich, Congressman Robert Wexler, and others, as well as electoral challenges by pro-impeachment candidates, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi finally caved and proposed to allow Kucinich to present impeachment in a Judiciary Committee hearing….Rather than being about impeachment, the hearing will be about impeachment and other supposed remedies to a lawless presidency, with the bulk of the time devoted to those other remedies. Most of those other remedies will involve, believe it or not, legislative proposals. Thus, the deterrence to future presidents who follow the Bush-Cheney tradition of violating all laws and checks on power will be the knowledge that during the administration following Bush-Cheney some bills were passed criminalizing what had always been criminal activity.”
Most interesting about Swanson’s take on these proceedings is his statement, “The hope of those planning this affair will be to bury impeachment.”
This statement by Swanson is the most interesting statement because it points to what the real intention may be behind the scenes in the Judiciary Committee. Congressman John Conyers, who, despite writing a lengthy report entitled, “The Constitution in Crisis” which outlined impeachable offenses of the Bush regime, has repeatedly ignored the will of the people who have continually been inundating him with phone calls, faxes, and emails asking that impeachment hearings begin now, not to mention the sit-ins and arrests that have taken place inside and outside his office by people imploring Conyers to start impeachment hearings. Conyers has been one of the hardest walls impeachment folks have had to bang their head against time after time. In light of his own report Conyers’ reluctance to push forward impeachment hearings fails to make any sense at all. What is most disturbing about this booby prize hearing for the impeachment movement is that it may be a serious attempt by the Judiciary Committee to temporarily appease and quiet down the impeachment movement
In the not too distant past the Judiciary Committee was a respected and lawful tool of the U.S. government, now it has become almost a joke. After many hearings and investigations into the criminal activities of the Bush administration, very few of these have lead to anything of substance. The fact that subpoenas have been blatantly ignored has further sullied the reputation and efficacy of the judiciary system of the US.
This latest stunt by the Judiciary Committee, ignoring the mountain of evidence showing that the Bush regime has not only committed impeachable offenses but actual WAR CRIMES, and instead going ahead with these “hearings” about the “Imperial Presidency” shows that the Judiciary Committee has priorities other than protecting the Constitution of the United States and the rule of law. From its actions one can only assume that the priorities of the Judiciary Committee are focused solely on keeping the agenda of the Bush regime from being seriously challenged on any front.
This “hearing” is an insult to all those who have worked so hard all these years to push for the impeachment of Bush and Cheney, however, these hearings can serve as an opportunity to turn this insult into an empowering event for the movement – but more is required than signing a petition and just showing up to the Rayburn Building on July 25th.
If Americans are to take full advantage of this tiny window of opportunity then thousands must be willing to swarm the Judiciary Committee with faxes, phone calls, emails, and most importantly, those that can go to DC on July 25th need to show their dissent with their own bodies. For those that can go, rather than timidly standing around behaving, it might be better to lay down on the floor, gum up the halls with people’s bodies, lock arms, cause a ruckus, resist, refuse to leave until impeachment hearings begin. Demand that real and meaningful investigations into the crimes of the Bush regime begin now. Refuse to settle for some Nancy Pelosi Booby Prize.
If you are reading this do what you can to support this window of opportunity by throwing this stingy attempt by Pelosi and the Judiciary Committee to appease the impeachment movement right back in their faces by a strong show of passionate activism!
Don’t sleep through another opportunity to hold the Bush regime accountable!
The Impeach for Peace people have a handy list of actions to take leading up to this Friday’s event so click here and get BUSY!

Is hearing to impeach Bush merely 'anger management'?

They lined up by the hundreds to be a witness to history at the Judiciary Committee's unofficial impeachment hearings of George W. Bush today.

As I said...they got all dressed up for nothing.

It wasn't called that of course. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-S.F.) had balked at a real impeachment hearing. Something about fearing a voter backlash from the public,

I told you so...didn't I?

already in a bad mood about Congress' inaction on core issues.

Nothing new there.

But today's hearing by the House Judiciary Committee -- billed as an inquiry to the Bush administration's use of executive power -- was ripe with opportunity for those who want to evict the president from office.

Ahhhh...the greatest dreams of mice and men.

They should try another petition drive. As you know...all the other petitions are now null. Start hitting the streets again folks!

Atta boy Smith! Anger Mgt. class!

Badabing!

King also claimed that a recently declassified CIA document proves the president's controversial 16-words in his 2003 State of the Union address about Saddam Hussein seeking uranium from Niger are corroborated by Wilson's report.

Gosh...don't they know that CIA docs are useless...that is of course if they say Bush planned 9/11.

Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.) reminded them both that "to the regret of many, this is not an impeachment hearing."

But didn't Kucinich babble and babble and babble and babble that it was going to be.

Silly people.

1 out of 35! 1 out of 35!

This keeps getting better and better!

And the hearing also gave an opportunity for former Rep. Bob Barr of Texas, now the Libertarian Party's presidential standard bearer, to note that because of the Bush administration's politicalization of the Justice Department, four times as many Americans now have more trust in the Post Office.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/presidentbush/2008/07/impeach-bush-2.html

Very witty Mr Barr... as if people ever trusted the Justice Department (the ones that brough us Waaco and Ruby Ridge) over our local mailmen.

Oh and please do not take this as if I am GLOATING!

Thanks i wont give up , even if this does look like he's got off the hook ,before the end of his term in office ,somethings gonna give and catch this criminal out you see.

Even if it looks like he got off the hook? Are you serious? It was the last chance!

He has technically 4 months left. The time from the election to the coronation is just turn over time.

Do you smell that...it is the smell of FAILURE.
