This is what happens to a city after being ruled by Democrats for decades.
CHICAGO, Ill. (IRN) - Gun violence in Chicago is so severe that a state lawmaker wants state police and the National Guard to assist the local cops.

State Rep. Monique Davis (D-Chicago) is making the request.

“I am requesting with this press conference that Gov. Patrick Quinn order the Illinois National Guard (and) the Illinois State Police (to) come to Chicago and work with our mayor Ron (sic) Emanuel to provide safety for the children, especially,” she said at a news conference in Springfield.

Other state lawmakers accompanied Davis to recognize the severity of the problem, and the extent to which it carries beyond Chicago’s troubled neighborhoods to the entire city and other parts of the state, but not necessarily to concur with her solution.

Over the holiday weekend, 74 people were shot and 12 killed in Chicago, and Davis says the police don’t have the manpower to make arrests.

The State would be wise to declare Martial Law in Chicago, suspend civil rights, and go in and clean out those gangs and all of their weapons, drugs, etc.

The Chicago police are so inept, that something has to be done. You know that there is a major problem when every single person on Death Row receives a commutation, because the Chicago cops had blatantly violated the law in order to convict people that they did not like. After the 6th person that had been sentenced to death in Chicago was proven to be totally innocent of the crime, a very conservative governor commuted all of the death sentences in the state.

Chicago is, and has been for almost a century, a cess pit.

I would say that was about normal as well.

You Canadians are probably thinking that these people work 5 days a week then gang-bang on the weekends. That is not how they roll in our big cities.

Chcago has been crime ridden and full of corruption since before Capone. It has nothing to do with Dem or Rep. It has everything to do with corruption & poverty.

I hear ya, Eagle. We have ours up here too............full time bangers............but some of them aren't white............so we have to be careful of what we say. We still have those tribunal things. Could wind up in one of those tumbrels on our way to the guillotine.

What nonsense, Chicago has been the scene of violence since the mid thirties.
It does not matter who is in charge of a city, the problems in America are at the
Federal and State level. For example gun laws are federal and the biggest and
worst group is the NRA. While I agree with some of their positions, I cannot
understand why they continually oppose everything and anything to do with
any form of legislation. The NRA is as obstructionist as the Tea Party wing that
is destroying the Republicans. Even at that there is problems within the Democrats
many are in with the NRA and others. Guns contribute to gun violence its not hard
to follow that bouncing ball here. It should also be noted that not all people who
have guns are violent or bad people.
Those who commit violent acts with guns should be severely punished not all citizens.
As for pointing fingers at one side of the ideological divide is just silly. and most folks
know that. The right is looking for an angle because they know when the midterm
elections come they stand to lose big time.

Oh Wally gave it a red and that is almost a badge of honor in this case considering
the source of the red.
What troubles me even more is this. These endless make believe issues and there
have been a few, come from a group that is shocked that they lost the last Presidential
Election. All the predictions pegged Romney as the winner didn't happen in fact the
shrieking and outrageous statements made by people like Ann Coulter, and Palin and
other flakes, with rape being God's will have so damaged the Republican Brand.
The fact is, the country needs a strong Democratic and Republican Party unfortunately
we are seeing the demise of one side if they are not careful.
Instead of coming in with policy that attracts voters they come up with silly slogans and
make believe scandals and now its the Democrats fault Detroit and Chicago have gone
to hell. These cities are in trouble due to Republican trade policy that allowed free trade
and the dismantling of the industrial complex.
If that is all the Republicans have to offer they are in more trouble than anyone could
imagine.

Why not ask Community Oraganizer Obunco to come settle things down a bit? He organized the original formation of the neighborhood gangs.

It does hurt the Democrats to see the areas they control fully are rife with crime and poverty.
