If it is contested land, it's all under Municpal and Provincial until/if settled so all rules still apply.

I really doubt 1784 and the Gov of Upper Canada is ever coming back so it's Provincial/Municipal

It is in Canada so I think it is Canada's role to lay down the law!

Actually, Liquor Board stores are provincial

Remember LAC La Ronge Grocery in the '70's , selling Vanilla extract in gallon jugs, Petros? - on Sunday...

OOHH Baby

I resent the term "whitey". While I am white, I have never called natives "brownies", "breeds", "reddies", "Injuns", or any other derrogatory term. I can just imagine the riots it would start if I did.
On the above: the local governance just have to do their bloody job. They can start with that bloody burger stand.

Once they've established the burger stand is detrimental to health, not just to go running in there like a bull in a china shop. But perhaps they'd be more credible if they shut down a few McDonald's first.

Juan, ok, you may reset the term. But centuries years of 'Paternalism' to our first nations is a disaster.

A semi urban community of 35,000 and you feel that 'big white Brother' should overrule the local Gov't -TO REMOVE A BURGER SHACK?
think ABOUT IT- WHITE BRO'.

But with the potential of being just as deadly- but you might suffer for a few weeks first! There was a documentary about them on T.V. in the past year, lucky the guy was closely monitored as he was close to death.

Usually the consuming public takes care of these things themselves, if it's unsavoury they will no doubt find sales will dwindle.

Do you really want to add a racial overtone to this topic? The thing is, that the health inspectors are already in place. The laws have been written a long time ago. Do we want to put someone in hospital? Do we want to kill someone? Is this crap shack worth arguing about? I, for one, want our laws to be upheld. If the local governance was doing their job, there wouldn't be a crummy burger shack.

Oh, you watched it too, Ger! Did you catch the part about where the guy's liver was on the verge of shutting down?

Is this about the food that is being served or the humble establishment it's being served in? Some of the best eating establishments I've eaten at look like real dives at first glance.

There's no running water, no hot water, where does the cook wash? No coolers, freezers, or fridges. How long before hamburger goes rancid sitting in a Kitchen with grills and deep friers running?

:roll:This right here tells the tale of what to expect. On day 2 of Spurlocks odyssey:

Day 2 brings Spurlock's first (of nine) Super Size meal, at the McDonald's on 34th Street and Tenth Avenue, which happens to be a meal made of a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Super Size French fries, and a 42 ounce Coke, which takes 22 minutes to eat. He experiences steadily increasing stomach discomfort during the process, and promptly vomits in the McDonald's parking lot.

22 mins to eat a burger and fries? WTF????? I can scarf that down in 10 mins max. Then the pansy throws up. The moron has never eaten like this before. He could have gone into a gourmet burger joint, ordered their best burger made from a ground filet, with the freshest of garden vegetables and home made sauces and he would have still thrown up in the parking lot. His main fu cking meal of the day up to that point had been vegan.

If I remember correctly the guy was being monitored by an M.D., so yes I do tend to find it fairly credible. I know at first glance the entire setup sounds pretty shaky, but RUNNING water isn't essential to hygiene, having a stove there is access to hot water, hence the cook can wash, just as the dishes and utensils obviously get washed. Hamburger will last 8 hours before it goes bad. Sure the place should be checked out, but as one idiot suggests running a bulldozer over a person's property just kind of pisses me right off.

I'd bet he was getting paid good money for all his discomfort. 10 minutes, Ger with a 42 oz. coke involved?? That's over an Imperial quart!
