I don't shoot heroin in public parks where everyone can see me. Oh, and I don't solicit women for sex publicly where everyone can see me either. Does that qualify me for a Senate seat?

No!

Why not?

Because you're overqualified.

Couple of things Don has been around for awhile surprised you didn't hear.
He is one of the social conservatives what do you expect.
It should also be pointed out a title does not mean you are smart it means
you have a title. Its what you do with the title to make the world a better place.
Don chose to make his world a better place not the world and now he's in a
fish bowl he will drowned in

He should claim he's a black Muslim, and Muslims are good with anyone over eight yr.

The Libs would then say it's all fine and that its just another example of islamophobia!!

If you know a Muslim who's diddling an eight year old, have you reported it to the police yet?

I always thought Don Meredith was an average quarterback when he played for the cowboys but loved him as a commentator on Monday night football with Frank and Howard.:).

"Turn out the lights,,the party's over",,,,,
Exactly. He was better in the booth than on the field.

A controversial Conservative senator has been expelled from his party’s caucus following allegations in a published report that he was having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl.

An official in the Prime Minister’s Office says Sen. Don Meredith is no longer a member of the Tory caucus.

News of Meredith’s expulsion came shortly after the Toronto Star posted a report online saying that a woman claims to have had a sexual relationship with Meredith that began shortly after she turned 16.

The Star report said the woman, who is now 18, had sexually explicit online chats with Meredith and that the relationship progressed to kissing and touching before she turned 18.

She also says the pair had intercourse twice after she turned 18 before Meredith broke off the relationship earlier this year.

The woman says Meredith initially believed her to be 18, but that she told him her true age within six weeks of the pair’s first meeting at a Black History Month event at a church in Ottawa.

The Star story says that in Canada, the age of consent for sexual relations is 16, except in cases of a relationship of authority, trust or dependency, when it increases to 18.

Meredith — who was appointed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2010 — has not responded to direct allegations that he had an improper sexual relationship with a person under the age of 18.

A CTV News report earlier this month said Meredith is facing allegations from staff members of verbal abuse, sexual harassment and bullying, and has been subject to what the Senate calls a workplace assessment since February.

Senate expected to expel Don Meredith within the next 15-20 years

After an ethics committee determined that Don Meredith is unfit to be a member of the Upper House due to his having sexual relations with a minor, the Senate has announced it will remove Meredith at some point during the next two decades.

“We will take swift action and not wait the standard three decades,” explained Saskatchewan Senator Raynell Andreychuk. “Otherwise people will begin to think we’re an immoral, inefficient and entitled institution that really doesn’t do anything.”

Four years after Meredith started a relationship with a 16-year-old and two years after the Senate started an investigation, no time will be wasted establishing the procedural and legal delays.

“Since we only sit three days a week, this ruling will take more time than anticipated. We will give Senator Meredith five days to respond, but that will take more like ten days. Then, the debate will take a few months before summer recess. After that, it will probably have to go to committee for a legal review. By 2023, we may vote on the precise wording of the first draft of the motion for expulsion.”

“However, the Senate may wait until his forced retirement at 75 before he is suspended.”

The Senate has also budgeted $18.5 million dollars for legal fees for both the Senate and Don Meredith’s legal team in the likely event that the expulsion is challenged as well as travel, meal and housing allowances, and mystery expenses.

“And let’s not forget about the numerous adjournments for, holidays, prorogations, fire drills, and nap time.”

If expelled, the Pentecostal Minister may never get to fulfill his promise he made as a Conservative candidate in a 2008 by-election to raise the age of consent to 18.

OTTAWA — The Senate’s ethics officer says ex-senator Don Meredith created a poisoned work environment by harassing a half-dozen employees, plus a constable in the upper chamber’s protection service.
In a report released Friday, Pierre Legault says Meredith bullied, threatened and intimidated his own staff and repeatedly touched, kissed and propositioned some of them.
The Pentecostal minister was named to the Senate by Stephen Harper in 2010.

He resigned in 2017, after an internal committee recommended he be expelled over a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.
The ethics investigation began nearly four years ago, and Legault says it’s stopped and started several times because of a criminal investigation and fights over his office’s authority.
The report says Meredith believes he’s been treated unfairly and denied due process in the ethics investigation, and he stopped participating as it reached its final stages this spring.

Well, he's a Christian ... a Doctor of Divinity granted to him by a TV evangelist. He's on the right hand of God and the rest of us must be wrong.

Just wait 'til he's suddenly raptured in front of your very eyes. That'll learn ya.
