Are these really Canadian shows, etc.?

Oh you betcha..... most are from the 80's, back when the Communist Smurfs, Snorkles, Romper Room, Dino the Last Dinosaur and Fragle Rock ruled the Television.

There is a reason why Canadians are so screwed up, and it's these shows many of us were stuck watching as kids, when our parents couldn't be bothered with cable and we were stuck with antenna.

There is indeed a darker side to Canada then most realize.

Be afraid.

Oh that reminds me:

YouTube - Supermarket Sweep

^ I'm not sure if that's a newer version of the old show, or if this was just a Canadian show and if other countries had their own version, but it certainly sucked enough to be Canadian.

How about these guys and their church-going adventures?

(love 'em)

Hey, they're the best representation of Maritime life..... well the lower end of it I suppose, but everyone around here can relate to them.

"Vouge Optical..... you second pari is freeeee...."

SIZE SMALLLLL..... TREMBLE IN FEAR OF THE GREAT SPOON PLAYING RECORD MAN!!!!!! BASK IN HIS GLORY AS HE CLICKS HIS SPOONS TOGETHER AND THEN TWIRLS AROUND IN ONE SPOT TO CONTINUE CLICKING HIS SPOONS AGAIN!!!!!!

I'm still depressed over Joey Jerimiah being bald. And then you throw this in my face. If I had a gas oven, my head would be in it.

I bet you had a crush on the chick from the Edison Twins.

Speaking of old kids show, anyone remember 'Coming Up Rosie'?

It was a kids show, back in the 70s....it was actually well written, well acted, and funny (for a kids show)

Has any had a look at the new Canadian shows on TV? There are some really good ones on right now. Traders is a great show - we don't like to miss it. The Border is another one. I don't know that they are all especially new but they are shows we have just discovered over the past couple of months or so. I think another one is called The Guard but I'm not sure of the name. I'm not sure how I feel about that one yet. I like David James Elliott but maybe not in this show. I'll have to see a few episodes (or not)

Ah yes, that show:

Not really, that was more my sisters' show.

At that time I was in Robotech.

Yeah I know, wasn't canadian, but was pretty cool for the time.

His chin looks like a couple of butt cheeks. He was a disgrace to the RCMP. He should have changed his name to Dudley Arseface.

This is a Canadian Show?
This guy is a Canadian Hitch Hiker?

Why isn't he being beaten within an inch of his life for...

A. Wearing a New York Mets hat

B. For wearing a Los Angeles Rams shirt

No, if you hit play, the guy holding the mic, is Jono.... the nerdy guy.

But then when you see him on the Trailer Park Boys these days, it's quite the interesting Contrast:

^ Jonovision

^ J-Roc

Know what I'm Sayy'nnnn.... *plays air record*

Those shows look pretty good, but I never had the desire to get into them at the moment.

One that I was impressed with was The Tudors

It's done pretty well and not as boring as Shakespeare.

Duldley Nutsac. That's what my step-father called him.

I thought Bullwinkle was worse. I met a guy in a bar a few years ago who spoke exactly like him.

I HATED Dan Gallangher on Test Pattern.

I loved Quentin Durgens MP.

By the way, I love mobs of Canadians. For example, Howard the Turtle could kick Kermit the Frog's arse any day!

Very well:

^ The Barenaked Ladies.... they had a few comical songs that got some air time back in the 90's, then somewhere along the line, they somehow figured they were God's gift to Canada and continued to put out more crap well beyond their shelf life.

Hey B.Ladies, if California want's you that bad, stay there.... I ain't missing much.

Anne of Green Gables.... Apparently those in Japan love this show based on a red headed, opinionated girl from PEI..... but to me, it was boring as hell and the smartest line I ever heard from the show was

"You can go straight to..... Halifax!"

Whoa, heavens to betsy, they didn't say THAT did they?!

^ Just as it says above......

You know something, I might have been afraid of the dark if they actually had some scary stories.

^ YAAARRRRRRRR DANGER BAY!!!

A family who seemed to always end up in some emergancy or dangerous situation where one or two of them needed to be saved, usually while trying to save something or someone else. I guess it was pretty good back in the day, but now a days, my eyes bleed a bit when I watch it.

^ The Beachcombers..... if there was a definition for Redneck, Sterio-Typical, dirty fishermen, this was it.

^ Lexx

It was stupid when it first came out, it's still stupid by today's standards. I actually went to the college Cage Digital used to render their 3D animations for the show at...... lot's of work went into it, but it still sucked, made no sense, and seemed like a poor excuse for someone to unleash all of their Showcase Revue fantasies into one show.

^ Street Legal..... basically a more boring Law & Order with more soap opera added.

That's all I got for now.
