they are starting off with a hefty fine...and then, is this her firm being examined, or her by her firm, or her by some higher law ethics committee... I'm confused

More to this than what has been published- If the firm acted correctly they would not have been fined- The woman stayed 3 months then quit??? The attempts at apologizing- 3 times - when - was it months later- lots of info not posted yet.

First of all I find it difficult to dislike anyone I don't know regardless of who they are or what
their background is. How can people be so excusing (that's not a word is it) Imagine at 34
she is too young to understand history. There are people less than half her age that right
now understand the impacts of history. She is simply an air head. If she was in my law firm
she might well not have a job. The reason? It would reflect on the business enterprise.
How could this woman defend a Jewish person? Political correctness is around because
some people don't know how to behave in public. We often take political correctness to task
and rightfully so. Then someone like this comes along and clearly demonstrates why the
rest of us must put up with political correctness.
Oh and for those into the free speech mantra it doesn't apply here, it is very hard to defend
stupid.

no but wait the firm wasn't fined, she was...that's why it is hefty...2500 is nothing for a firm, but for an individual...it's hefty

'I cannot stand Jewish people': Lawyer almost loses her career over office rant about queue-jumping man at medical centre | Mail Online

It emerged the matter 'snowballed' despite the lawyer trying to apologise on three occasions - but the cashier refused to meet with her.
Yesterday, in a ruling made public for the first time, it emerged Mrs Morris who now works two days a week at another law firm has been fined £2,500 and ordered to pay £5,250 in costs following a hearing in London.

The cashier known as Mrs S made a formal complaint to the firm’s senior partner but left the company ahead of an offer of an apology from the practice if 'any offence had been unwittingly caused.'
In May 2011 a four-day employment tribunal was held in which Mrs Morris and the firm was found to have racially and religiously discriminated against Mrs S and she was awarded damages.

I wish they'd explain what the time span was between her filing the complaint, and them offering up an apology.

And btw, if you say something, and are told you're being offensive, and you say you don't care and repeat said thing, that is not 'offense unwittingly caused'. I wouldn't stick around for that 'apology' either. It's not an apology if there's a but attached.

In the article at the higher level tribunal she denied making the statements. Both were disciplined- so I would guess they screwed up and tried to ignore or sweep it away.

Northern Ontario,
You have of course every right to disagree, but thank you for the disagrement without the 'innuendo packing'.

Although I am 'new ' here,I would advise ALL posters to PRACTISE DECORUM. there was nothing in my premise which made it 'racist'
or me a 'Bigot', religous fanatic', illiterate', et cetera yad yad yada...

You really don't want to look like silly puddings, now, do you?:p

Are you talking about that moron who wrote The Bell Curve?

If that's the one, he was not crucified for his IQ test results, but for the "reasoning" he based on his results, i.e. that black people are unfit for the "more responsible" positions in society. His argument was basically that because white people on average have higher IQs than black people, therefore a white dull-normal was better suited to be a Senator or a university president than a black genius.

That is actually a good point.

Here is a quickplace for the work:
Human Intelligence: The Bell Curve

We shuld spin this off to a separate topic, I feel...

If you feel like starting one, I'll participate as time allows for the next week or so. After that, I'm off on yet another of my investigations of white people in their native habitat.
you're visiting Kanada?8O

No, I'm talking about where the white people came from. A week or so in Ireland to delve into the spirit of the Gael (my grandfather was Irish), then off to London to observe the high holy religious ritual of the white people called the "Champions Cup," then to Berlin to view the ritual of the German Cup (a.k.a. the "DFB Pokal").

I hope to gain insights into what makes white people so weird. And surly.

I'm also taking along a rather fetching lady with big boobs and a real jones for Bayern Munchen. Wish me luck.

Got something to find on albinos?

You're near Sudbury? Nice town. I was there for a few days, I'd like to visit again.

As to the rest, I recognise five major genetic/social/cultural/economic/psychological subdivisions of humanity: Asians, Africans, Australians, Americans, and Europeans. You may disagree. I don't care.

I was kidding about the kanada :) Europe will be lovely especially with your woman. And yes I wish you much luck. :)

Angry, yes. To me anger is usually a sign of stress and frequently it is then misplaced and misdirected I wonder what makes some people so crazy too.

I am five hours from Sudbury. I am much farther south so it's warmer...lol.

I have never thought about genetic/social/cultural/economic/psychological subdivisions of humanity so I neither agree nor disagree. For me an angry man/woman is merely an angry person. I don't care about their culture or economic background. I would agree there is influence from such but in general we are a human species and thus subject to the same wide array of emotions and behaviour which exhibits in a like manner. I doubt if it makes much difference to a victim of abuse as to the colour or culture of their abuser.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!!

This woman is an idiot. Fine, you don't like Jews, that is certainly your right. BUT, to publicly declare this fact, in front of a Jewish cashier for your firm, is flat out idiocy!

I sincerely hope that her tubes have been tied. Those genes should NOT be allowed to be propagated.

One can not protect against self stupidity!
