Marketplace went undercover at 10 car dealerships to investigate what salespeople are telling you about car financing.

Are they revealing everything you need to know?

And what are the techniques are they using to get you into a more expensive car?

When we show our hidden camera to Ontario’s auto sales regulator, he calls some dealers’ advice misleading, troubling, and illegal.

With new car sales in Canada nearing a record two million this year, you can't afford to miss this investigation.

Just preying on people's stupidity.

Oh wait, Flossy said the millennials were all so much smarter than the old farts, so it can't be that.

Must be the New Math.

Oh, wait.

No, people are just stupid to think car price in terms of weekly money on the credit card.

Like i pointed out. Millennials are smarter from a communist point of view

But in a free market environment they get eaten alive

Do what the older and wiser generations do. Buy RVs for $100k+, finance them over 10-20 years, then sell them for next to nothing.

Why worry about being ripped off when we can just all vote for a communist government to raise our minimum wage.

Today’s Canadians are so sheltered from any consequences due to our communist government policy, they haven’t learnt to be afraid that someone will take them out to lunch

They just assume everything will be taken care of for them. Because it always is.

We have gone to great pains to reduce the length of terms that mortgages can be written for and increasing down payment amounts - and at the same time allowed cars to be financed in exactly the same away that caused the sub prime crisis.

It is sort of typical of the way that governments bow down to car makers in order to get those great (tax) paying jobs.

Angstrom blames women and baby boomers for his lack of success in life. I guess he doesn't own a mirror.

Must be frustrating to learn the ideology you based you’re whole life arround is actually cancerous and destroying the earth
