How credible is an alleged child molester?

Violence plays a big role as does it being forced.

I get your point JLM

Not feeling up to having sex and still having sex when you didn't feel up to it and an absolute no are two different things.

You got the picture, Petros. Regardless, opinions differ, but are any more or less valid?

Hard to say whether he is guilty or not but the news has the right to mention him
using the word alleged. The media has a right to report the news. This guy is
arrogant as all get out but it doesn't make him a child molester. Waiting to see
what happens in this case its a long way from over.

Up until lately I hadn't followed it all that closely, so I missed the arrogance. When I started the thread I was hoping there was more to it than merely two (or three accusations) as spiteful people can get together and gang up, and it's such a serious charge I think there has to be very little reason for doubt. But if the guy is guilty it will all come out eventually. After his name and reputation are ruined I sincerely hope that is the way it does come out.

Again, explain the picture better.

How is a husband 'taking what he wants' and being considered 'rape' a problem?

Again, I'll let you explain how that is just semantics.

Easy "It is a worse assault if you get your head beaten into a curb, than if you get a black eye from a pop in the nose."

What's you point, Karrie? That you think we have differing opinions?

Hey Petros - Do you ever get the idea that some people just can't stand to have your opinion differ from theirs? -:)

Yes, I think we do, as you put rape in quotations, implying it's not actually rape.

It's like you were "thinking".

See what I mean?

The implication is that if a husband does it, it's not quite rape. The implication is that all rape is violent. Yes, there are worse assaults, assault is something that often occurs hand in hand with rape, but rape is rape. Not beating a woman, doesn't mean you didn't rape her.

Do you get where I'm asking for clarification? Because you're not really explaining your view, you're just dancing around it a bunch.

Do you ever get the idea that some people are trying to give you the courtesy of clarifying what came off as a highly repugnant position?

Sometimes yes.

I've said no, I don't feel like it lots of times so I guess I've been raped lots of times.

When it comes to law it has to be an absolute no.

It is semantics.

FORCED after an absolute no is rape.

You wont get anywhere when you're taking about two different things and missed his point.

His point was that the law covers rape too broadly, as I read it. He can feel free to clarify, if he doesn't need someone else to do it for him.

You're upset because I put rape in quotation marks? I was just trying to cover the whole spectrum including what is rape and what is not rape. And you and Gerry are trying to make something sinister out of it.

i'll say it again, feel free to clarify.

The way you wrote it reads that rape as the law considers it, is problematic in its scope.

Well maybe it does. It definitely covers it broadly. "Too" broadly may be a matter of opinion.

Problematic??????????????? The scope is large!
