How can the Liberals leave others to defend our national security?

I still don't understand why the "left" wants to prolong the suffering of brown people.

Why do they hate brown people so much?

That is dead on.

Also, the "legions" that currently threaten our territory directly are Russian. We share a border them that runs through the Pole and they have repeatedly stated that they do not respect any lines up there except for those that they themselves have drawn. Defend it or lose it. This will be a big news item in a year or two.

Hahaha! Don't worry about Russia. Trudeau has Putin scared to death of him! LOL! Didn't he 'tell him off to his face'? ROTFLMAO!

I will tell you that this is a direct result of our gradually standing down our Armed Forces from the mid 1960s to the present. In the process, we have handed off our own defences, one piece at a time to the Americans to save money, mostly and because of some misguided idea that we were forwarding the cause of peace. As we have given away our defences, so we given away a lot of of free choice. He who plays the Piper, gets to call the tune.

Just so you know, in case you are too young to remember, in 1960 the population of Canada was one half of what it is now and our Armed Forces were a bit more than twice the size of what remains, today. Mostly, our Forces have dropped below the numbers threshold of being able to do much of anything.

Too young? That is flattering. I'm 72 and I have an extensive knowledge of military history. As for Canada's defence forces I would say that there needs to be a complete rethinking of what Canada needs. Up until now Canada's military has been modeled on what suits the needs of NATO. Perhaps it is about time to take a look at what suits the need of Canada.

None, we smacked the sh!t outta them before they could.

Oh? and who would that be? Seems to me that the terrorists have gained one hell of a lot of territory despite having been "smacked down".

First a bombing campaign has never worked as a stand alone game.
The bombing of London the Blitz, The bombing of Russia Stalingrad,
The Vietnam Campaign when the bombed the north, Laos and even
Cambodia, and the list goes on.
And then there is the bombing and leaving the ground fighting to others
defending world security.
The real problems for letting others defend us started with the Tories.
Yup they went along with foreign soldiers and even police being allowed
to cross the boarder in certain circumstances.
I see no need for one foreign soldier to be on our soul period.
And to top it off I do agree with bombing the hell out of ISIS but only if we
are going to mop up these thugs with more aggressive action that includes
forces from the area that should be defending their security. We also have
to stop supporting anti government forces in Syria we are supplying the
enemy with weapons as most are terrorists with self centered agendas
There are no good guys fighting Syrian forces including Syrian forces. And think
we removed Assad from a terror list when he participated in the fight with Iraq
how quick we forget

Rethinking, oh yes. Which is code for gutting our forces and sending our soldiers into war zones unequipped, but then the Liberal party of Canada has a long proud history of doing that.

He's not talking about pulling our guys out. He's talking about pulling the F-18's, he wants more boots on the ground. Sorry, I misspoke. He wants us to put special forces in to train their fighters. Oh wait, that's boots on the ground.

Not at the current price of oil. Putin does not have the money necessary to do much in the Arctic except get a few minutes of air time on a slow news day.. He has much more pressing issues closer to home.

I can't argue with any of that.

That's because we haven't gone in to smack them down. We just keep poking them with a pointy stick.

We have to address this conflict, like we addressed the one in the European theatre.
