One fellow allready phoned in to 1040 early this morning, and said that canucks haven't
actually played a 'good' game yet, even though they beat calgary twice.
My first thoughts are that, Washington is very very strong, and they are, but then after
I slept on it, I feel that perhaps they were so relieved after those two very tough games
against Calgary, very physically demanding, and emotionally draining, then, they flew out
of calgary and on to washington, maybe with a little too much 'relief', and felt that
Washington would be a step down from Calgary, even Vineault's decision to play Welwood
in that game tells me that he had no idea what they were going to be up against, as
Welwood is no physical match for them, but he probably would play much better against
Detroit, who aren't a physical, but are a puck possession team, and there is a little more
room to skate against detroit, even though they are a better team than washington, at
least right now, we'll see what happens when washington plays them, it will be
interesting.
Luongo also did not have a stellar game, he let in a couple of softies, and had the
game stayed at 3-1, it would have been reachable instead of out of reach.
They asked him what he thought happened, and he said "I have no idea what happened
out there".
The younger guys have to 'settle down' now, and play a little more relaxed, hannson
and raymond are trying to do too much, raymond has a great shot, but he is missing
the net on every one lately. That line hasn't jelled yet, but I think they will smooth
out more given a little time.
