The Canucks scored first against Buffalo and went on to beat the Sabres 5 - 2. It was one of the Canucks best games in a long time.

Good to hear!

Canucks now rank 30th in the power rankings! Maybe this win will bump it up to 29th. Sad state of affairs!

They need a good third period! Maybe Tortorella knew something! :)

Good to see the Canucks are making a game of it in the third!

It almost seems like the Canucks are looking to get the best draft choice. Delete almost, they are going for a draft choice.

Don't despair, they are going through a "slow period", almost every team has one at some point in the 82 games.

What concerns me is the guys who aren't playing for a job they don't seem to understand that Right Now is when they make their own personal future in the league-the only exception seems to be Dorsett.

I would suggest that anyone who is starting to despair over the Canucks should take a peek at Montreal's record for the past 5 games! Seems like they all take a turn in the dumpster. :)

this team is doing exactly what the coaching staff and management would expect them to do this season,
and that is, play somewhere around 500 by the end of the season.
a team in transition, and a season victory for them would be making the playoffs.

that isn`t impossible, as the pacific division isn`t strong this year, top 3 places are up for
grabs, but I see Calgary and Edmonton and arizona all getting better and better, so it will be very
difficult, and the central division is so very strong, that they will probably also get the
two wildcard teams for playoffs, so a team in the pacific will ``have`` to be in top 3, or
they will be out.

right now they have some injuries that definitely make a difference, but I also see players improving
eg. barkowski, cracknell and biega have definitely upgraded their play, and I like all three,
and lately they have been working hard, so even if they lose with that kind of effort, no criticism
should be thrown their way.

everyone has to see the team through 'true' eyes, and not expect something from them, that they don't
have to give, unreasonable expectations, just because it p isses you off to lose.

and this team 'will never' tank, that is so disrespectful to the players, especially the young ones.
just imagine yourself a player, knowing your coach and manager just wants to finish near the bottom
just to get a high draft pick, that is very demoralizing, and benning has stated that more than once.

just like Desjardin said last night, after the game, he just wants them to work hard, play hard, they
won't win em all, but the effort is what he is looking for.

the twins are playing their best hockey in years, they are true leaders, henrik is a great captain,
and there is no way they would tolerate knowing that 'anyone' connected with this team was trying
to lose.

they have had games where they didn't show up, (not many, a few), but that is behind them right now,
they are pushing hard in games, mistakes will be made by some, especially the kids at times, but that
is expected, they are learning the nhl level on the fly.

the goalies are the key, and have won a few games where the team would have lost, as they were badly
outplayed, but that is part of the game, the goalie can rise up and do that once in a while, just like
carey price does most nights for montreal, now look at them without him, just an ordinary team, exposed
for the level they are, `without`him.

I just want the canucks to ``try hard``, ``work hard``, and show me they want to win, even on nights
where it is obvious they won`t.

there are many teams with many players much better than some of the canucks, so it is often an uphill
battle, and very satisfying when they can come away with a victory on those nights.

try to enjoy your teams boys, even when they lose, be aware of the injuries, and just where the team
is in the big picture.

merry christmas

Disappointing result tonight against Phx. I didn't see a lot of the game. Alaska Bush People ( a must watch) started a new season tonight.
