Quoting Talloola: "definitely not a ho-hum type of win, it was touch and go thru the whole game.".
I would have posted my Ho..hum comment in purple.....if my computer would do that sort of thing.

, BUT the winning goal
was very very pretty, by guess who, henrik to daniel, then the perfect shot with very little
room past the goalie, to win the game.

That's those "Sedin sisters" you're talking about.............they're no good, they couldn't win a hockey game. :):):):) (What a maroon):)

Looks like the tables have turned, it may be more like the California teams should be leery of the Canucks.:)

for the moment, yes, they'll all be out for revenge.

some of the old standbys who were expected to be at the top immediately, aren't lighting the world
on fire. anaheim is up there, but they have illness on the team right now which is probably
dragging them down a bit. they just announced that cory perry will be out indefinitely with a viral infection, he was the top scorer in the nhl, now
he can't play at all, anaheim really miss him in the lineup.

st. louis also has a serious bacterial illness going all thru their dressing room, they had a
medical team come in and go thru the room and try to sanitize it, many of their players have
been sick, so they are also dragging a bit.
pittsburgh is flying high, nice to see them get trashed by the rangers tonight.

chicago, minnesota, san jose, los angelos are all just playing the middle of the road games,
not winning as much as usual, maybe they will all ramp it up somewhere up along the way.

canucks have a lot of spirit and desire, willing to work hard, have found some valuable chemistry,
and good goalkeeping, so for now they are rolling along quite nicely, its fun.

i believe canucks are tied with tampa bay for the overall lead in the nhl.

Good to see the Boston Bad Boys get a shellacking. They need to get humbled every once in a while.

Personally, I haven't seen the Leafs do all that well since the 1960s though I'm sure they had a few good winning teams in much of that time. Always great to see the Original Six get the headlines.

bruins seem to have lost a step this season, at least so far.

best game tonight is los angelos and anaheim, just in the first period rightnow, 1-0 l.a. after a penalty
shot.

You got that right Goph!:)

We may have to quit calling them the "Toronto Maple Laughs".:)

Probably a good thing the Ducks won that game- L.A. may have been starting to get ideas!

Argh! Colorado > Rangers 4-3 in shoot out win

Rangers played a puny game - instead of hard checking against the Avs, they engaged in a pillow fight with soft touches like a bunch of weak sisters at a sorority slumber. Last year, every time they lost a game it was because they did not hit hard at all. Same this thing year. When will they ever learn???

even though colorado are off to a bad start this season, any team playing them must deal with their
speed, a very young fast team, so i guess rather than hit them, they decided to skate with them,
not a bad strategy.

rangers easily could have won in the shootout, at least they got a point.

as much as i like the rangers, i'm glad colorado got the win, for their own confidence,
they have lots of real good players, but very young, they seem to have the edmonton oiler problems
this year, so far.

good checking slows down good speed any time - Rangers need to crash 'em against the board and rattle their teeth in order to shut them down

chasing speedy skaters only wears you down and you'll have nothing left by the time the playoffs come around

but this is the same thing I said last year and the NYR managements still hasn't changed its out look so they will stick with this weak strategy and lost their chances at getting the Stanley Cup again

if i remember correctly, rangers were in the stanley cup finals with l.a. last season, do you have a
short memory. there are 30 teams out there, they ended up as one of the two in the finals, not an
easy task. losing a game isn't the end of the world.

I remember well - and if you recall I mentioned how lucky they were to get there despite the lack of good checking.

that could be debated, its not the way i remember, and there is always another team who also want to win,
can't disregard that, and in the playoffs, the emotions are ramped up, the tension, they all want to
get there, and those who do, good on them.

now, if tampa bay had their goalie, bishop, last year, montreal never would have moved on, to play
the rangers, the whole
scenario would have changed, and the way tampa are playing right now, if bishop stays healthy, the
east better watch out for them, they are rolling, and he stops everything, he is huge.

Rangers whimped out against Philly today - their puny defenders wouldn't even touch Simmonds while in the crease as he steamrolled them like a bunch of ants. Everybody in the chat room I was in were screaming bloody murder at the Rangers puniness tonight. Game seven tomorrow. Hopefully, they will finally learn to play more physical if they ever hope to advance in the playoffs.

The chat room I was in was filled with several NYR fans and we were all in a fit of rage over their puniness. Sadly, that great chat room is now gone - but we sure had fun as those guys really know their hockey.

i am very familiar with chat rooms, the majority of chatters, don't even see the opposition, but are
very quick to trash their own team, its all because of a loss, many people can't stand losing, can't
deal with it, and the first reaction is to jump all over their own team, without seeing how the game
went, 'from both sides'. i watch both teams, even when my own team is playing, and i appreciate the
skills on both sides in a game, as well as seeing the shortcomings.

the rangers advanced in the playoffs just fine.

That they did.

But New Yorkers are like that - they trash you because they love you and expect 100% every single night without exception. NYers work hard, play hard, live hard. And their fanaticism extends to their sports franchises and their expectations for their teams. It was no surprise when the guys in the chat room went haywire at the NYR loss. And as for me, despite living in Gopherland for 27 years, I remain a New Yorker at heart so that I still think and act like one. Thus, when my team wins, I rejoice like a wild man, when they lose, I fall apart.
