Probably best just to let "sleeping dogs lie", everyone should be allowed to make one whopper in a lifetime! -:) I probably won't watch much hockey now until the fall, I like to watch the play occasionally, I'm not too much into the politics of it. Besides I started planting the garden today, so that is starting to take over the thoughts of my limited mind. L.O.L. Crocuses are actually starting to bloom up here and we're getting buds on the trees.

i don't like the politics of hockey either, but i like to know who runs the team, who coaches the team,
who is one the team, and watch how the team plays, i find it all very interesting.
if i were an owner of the team, i would be concerned about the next time he acts up, people who have
performed like him over the years, do it again, as he did this season, it wasn't a one time event.
if you were the owner of a multi million corporation, you would want the people working for you to
behave with class, as the team is seen all over the league, the media is quick to pick up anything
rude or vulgar to report right away, they love it. and they do play that clip many times, even tonight
they showed part of it again.
the canucks is a classy organization.

enjoy your garden and your summer, crocuses are finished here, its daffodils and rhododendrums now,
blossoms on the trees etc.

Can't argue with that, but it happens on every level.................like Billy Smith!!! Was it him who used to chop at players' knees with the goal stick? -:)

sure i remember billy smith and many other players who had reputations on the ice.

a coach isn't a player, he is a team leader, a teacher, a role model, sets an example, is respected, (should
be respected), so we can't just throw him into the bucket with all of the players we think did things
that weren't totally above board.

i also remember other coaches over the years who behaved like morons, very similar to him, they would not
be hired by the canucks, in fact they weren't hired by anyone after their performances.

when i watched daniel down on the ice, i had a feeling he was purposely staying still for his own
safety, knowing that he had hit his head hard, and he just waited for the proper attention he needed
so that he could be checked out.

he seemed alert the whole time, so i'm glad all is well, he'll probably have a head ache, maybe a
slight cancussion, seems he'll be fine soon.

guess the other player will be suspended for the rest of the season. lol

yes, the hiring of mike keenan was another mistake, and he wasn't with the team long, bye bye charlie

the player who hit daniel is 5'8" tall, and not a heavy guy, and not a player known for any dirty play.

the player made a mistake. daniel is fine, it was a neck sting apparantly, with no concussion and no

long term injury at all, probably just a sore neck for awhile.

torterella was all over hartley on his post game interview, said how he pisses him off etc., accusing

him of not caring how daniel was, and he sounded just as stupid last night as 'that' other night.

hartley did nothing wrong, didn't send that player out to do that, torterella again lost his composure

and had to lash out, no class there at all, he has become very tiring indeed.

I heard some of that on C.B.C. radio this morning.

I heard some of that on C.B.C. radio this morning.

i just listened to the whole post season interview from the media with torterella. he did nothing
to help himself at all, they went back to the calgary incident and asked him what he would have
done if he made it thru to hartley. he said he would have got him, for sure, that is what he
wanted to do, he said.
it was very immature, he could have smoothed that situation over a little bit, by admitting he lost his temper and apologize for that, but no he
was still just as eager to get hartley in the interview as he was when
it happened. thats too bad, he doesn't seem to learn.

he also admitted to many mistakes he made thru the season, and kept saying he takes full responsibility
for them, and he has stated the same on other occasions during previous interviews.

he says far too much, and didn't help himself.

they asked him many things about the season, he did a lot of bumbling and repeating himself, and more
than once, he stated he might be fired today, had no idea, and that is fine with him, he's not
going to fight for his job.

It's time to dig out your Lions hat and enjoy spring just like the Canucks players are doing.

Football is too boring!

He might need counselling. L.O.L.

It's time to dig out your Lions hat and enjoy spring just like the Canucks players are doing.

i'll follow the lions very closely, i love the cfl, i love football, the strategy and the rules are
so interesting.

i don't follow the nfl, just too big, too many teams, but i do keep my eye on seattle seahawks.

i'll follow the jays too, i love baseball, and i'm glad i was so involved for many years and know the
game well.

and also the mariners.

note: barry trotz has been fired, coached nashville from its birth, he will
be hired quickly i would assume, probably not by the canucks, they need
to interview for a g.m. first, before they hire a new coach, (and
they still have a coach).

and i won't turn away from the canucks, there is lots happening with the
team, i will follow along, the draft as well, free agency, then the
summer off, and in no time training camp.

hartley was upset last night because his player was given a charging
penalty, and he was complaining to the ref, that is why torterella
was whining and complaining about him today, accusing him of not
caring about daniel.

and he is right it wasn't charging, it just happened when he pushed daniel
it was in the wrong place, and caused his head to hit the glass, so
yes, it was a penalty, but that player isn't even l75 lbs, 5'8", some
day 5'7", so he definitely wasn't sent out there to take care of
daniel, not his style at all.

yes he did, i was listening to the interview 'live'. guess he was just joking, but he 'too many times' has
to backtrack himself and explain why he blurts out things.

i often compare how he handles himself 'to' how vineault handled himself during interviews. vineault
is a tough guy, a very fair guy, and when facing the media, he always answered questions smoothly
and honestly, and also didn't blurt out 'way too much information', that the media doesn't need to
hear. i have thought about vineault a lot since january, and remembered his great personality and
how he was very congenial and polite to everyone, without being timid at all. maybe we took all of
that for granted.

torterella is a media wonderman, they love him, they bAit him, they don't want him to go anywhere,
as they know he could say some off color statement at any time, And they are always perked up waiting
with pen in hand to quote him as soon as they can.

if anyone's interested the hockey lottery draft will be drawn at 5 oclock, probably on tsn,
and team 1040 radio.

canucks now have 6th overall pick, and they have a 6.2%chance of their name being drawn, and if
a team higher than them are drawn, then they will drop to 7th.

the only draw made is for number one overall pick. buffalo have a 25% chance, as the bottom
team.

FOLLOWUP; florida panthers won the lottery, so they have first overall pick, and buffalo sabres are second, everyone else remains the same.

florida finished 2nd to last overall.

good for Dale Weiss for scoring the winning goal in overtime last night for 'montreal'.

another dumb trade gillis made. weiss was traded away for a fifth round draft pick.

seems he is the lucky one, because as he stated to the media, torterella doesn't believe

in fourth liners, (consequently he was one of them who sat on the bench for most of many games),

and he is a decent player, we always liked him, now he can at least play as he deserves to.

Every time I open this thread I pray to read about Tortorella being given the boot.

i'll be very happy when i can post that he has been given the boot.

there is that little fright, i feel, that they won't. if they are going to talk to 'jim benning'
about the g.m. job they might have to wait till boston has won the cup, and maybe linden wants the
new g.m. to make the decision about torterella.

if jim benning is going to be the next g.m. (just suppose), then his coaching style will fit right in
with 'claude julien's' style, and that is 'all four lines must contribute for the whole game', that
is the boston style, as the team has no weaknesses, and the game is a complete team concept, which
is and has been very successful, so how on earth will that fit into torterella's style, it won't.

have you heard the latest rumour, that gretzky will be taking glen sather's place in new york soon, as
he wants to retire.

gretzy's house is on the market in l.a. (a cool 6 mill if anyone her is interested), so he definitely
is relocating to somewhere. messier is sather's assistant, so he and gretzky will be reunited again,
maybe, just a fresh rumour on team 1040 this morning.

it's time for the second season as playoffs are on:

Philly 1
Rangers 4

Brad Richards & Derek Stepan scored PPG's to give the Broadway Blues the margin of victory. Defense kept Phlly scoring in check and goalie Lundqvist had an easy night having 14 saves.

Just finished watching the Habs win 4 - 1 over TB tonight.........they are hot.......2 wins on the road ......big confidence booster for the team and coaches. Wasn't quite as exciting as the first game but watching Carey is worth the time alone....... almost, almost got a shut-out. Back home now and a further boost from the hometown crowd.

Rock on Montreal!
