What a load of rubbish. There are no women in the NHL because they aren't tough enough (just like the Sedin sisters). Call that "sexual bigotry" if you like but everybody knows it's just genetics and unfortunately for the sisters, they got stiffed on the toughness gene.

speaking of rubbish, that flows freely from your mouth.

You got that right, if one of the twins approached him with one arm tied behind his back, the little creep would slink off so fast with his tail between his legs!:lol::lol::lol:

brad may was being interviewed the other day and spoke of his hockey days with the canucks when the twins
were also there. He said that when they went each year just before training camp to the 'grouse grind', the twins took
off way ahead and made it up the hill in about 35 minutes. He mentioned that they are in fabulous shape.

I have new respect for dgrumpy, as those words he spoke hit the nail on the head, and 'that' needed to be
said by a man not a woman, to hit the mark.

I see the squirming happening now, what goes round comes round, eventually.

very well said, it 'is' a wierd kind of sexual bigotry, and it is a lack of secure masculine feelings when
men have to call other men 'female' names to make themselves feel tougher,

You can believe that if you wish, but as someone who is heavily involved in girls' hockey for the last 7 years, and someone who laughs at the Sedin's nickname as sisters, I would disagree with your attempt to portray it this way.

You apparently don't know much about girls hockey. I suggest you stick to two things you do well: making excuses for the Canucks in general, and the Sedins in particular, and whining about how Boston is able to play NHL style hockey.

Carry on, your trusty assistant will be here to defend you shortly.

I suspect that they would no longer be referred to as sisters if they started racking up points.

Winning the Art Ross didn't change that. The fact that they are twins and don't fight like the good old boys is where it comes from. Henrik is the best in the world at competing for pucks along the boards. That's why a puck is on his stick most of the time.

The main reason they are called 'sisters' is that it is apparently easy to intimidate them by playing a hard physical game. It's not that they aren't skilled puck handlers, it's that they are easy to intimidate by being physical.

And don't bother telling me I don't understand, JLMTalloola, this is according to the other NHL players. Who might just know something about the game and the players on the ice.

Henrik is the strongest player in the league in the corners and along the boards. Hardly someone that's intimidated.

my husband and I started and ran a girls athletic club, hockey and fastball for years, he coached both,
I managed and helped coach, and we ran the organization, went to b.c. championships, canadian championships,
and developed girls in both of these to the highest level possible, and also ran a house league at the
same time.
We had four daughters, all of whom reached a very high level in many sports, we have plaques, ribbons
and great memories for all of those years, and feel so happy that we opened the door for so many young
girls, aged from about 8 up to 17, we watched them grow up before our eyes, and become good human beings, and
much of that was helped along from their participation in the sports.

Our girls hockey teams, up to the age of 13 or 14 competed against many boys teams, the competetive level
and the skill level was very high for many of them, and we also mingled the young ones in with them so
they could learn and become the same, it was very successful.

I don't think there is a need to say more about girls sports from our vantage point, we've been there, done
that, and enjoyed every minute of it.

When comparing the sedins or any other such player anyone wants to put 'down', there are many men's
teams who are much below any of the NHL teams, why not compare them to them, as many of those men's
teams would have had a hard time beating some of our senior women's teams.

Our girls ball teams numbered 16, with 3 travel 'rep' teams as part of that.

I was just thinking talloola (yeah I do that sometimes ), if there is any consolation that both our teams are out it is that the play-offs won't interfere with football this year! Always look at the bright side of life.

Just two months to go before the pre-season kicks off!

you don't understand.

any NHL player I have heard speak of the twins, has great respect for them, and knows just how hard it
is to contain them during a game.

it is only your types, who don't have a clue, who spend time on this nonsense, and it has nothing to
do with the twins at all, you are only trying to irritate, and you don't do a very good job at that
either.

it is very hard to get them off of the puck, they carry it much of the time, they go to all of the
tough areas of the ice, get hit many times, and never shy away from anything, they aren't afraid of
anything, or else they wouldn't be in the NHL, never would have made it that far.
They came from sweden just out of boyhood, and the hard work they have put into their game is admirable,
they are not intimidated by anyone, they have never run away from any play, they are right in the middle
of it and love it, and in interviews always mention the 'fun' they have playing.

I have watched these guys since day one of their NHL careers, do you think I give a rats ass what you
think, nope I don't, and if I want to find out what 'real' hockey people think of the twins, or any
other players, I know where to go, and it sure won't be here, this is just entertainment, and
amusement, and a look into what some of you 'don't know.

That would explain why they were voted as easy to intimidate by other NHL players.

Tell that to the NHL players who voted him as easy to intimidate.

Those N.H.L. players' credibility is about on par with yours. They were all on losing teams to the Canucks during the regular season, so you'd think they'd have enough brains to keep their traps closed.

Few things sadder than a hyena with no teeth.

BTW-I took the time to read the complete interview with Mike Gillis and agree 100% with him-he's a very insightful manager.

those were a very few, who remained anonymous, which gives no credit at all to the truth of
the story, and shows cowardess of whomever made those statements, as they aren't brave enough to
give their names, I have heard other such statements made by that particular reporter, again anonymous,
about other people,
so that just reduces those statements to nothing, and if you are grasping onto that as your story,
you also have no credability, and will believe anything. You probably read the national inquirer as
well.
anyone can say anything about anybody, remain anonymous, and the only people they
will impress is pinheads, who will believe anything.

yes, I have lots of respect for him, and I am looking forward to the press conference with vineault
later this week.
