Talloola- I'm wondering why A.V. isn't using the Sedins in shootouts.
Many because they want to actually score on a shoot out. The sedin sisters are better when they have someone else running interference for them. All flash.

gerry you haven't the slightest idea what you are talking about. Run along. The adults are playing now.

I think Ger, made that quite plain when I suggested that the loss to Nashville may have been a mixed blessing because it may give the Canucks a bigger incentive to beat Detroit. Gerry found that statement immensely hilarious.

you'll have to take our word for it juan, if you saw the first period, then you saw them control the wholeperiod, and outshot the wings by many, second period was different, wings definitely had their chances, and the third period was just like a playoff game, and the control right at the end to score that tieing goal was a sight to behold, nothing fluky, pure passing plays, good shots, and then the goal, they earned it.
Excellent synopsis of the game, talloola........exactly as I saw it unfold.

these two teams play very similar, consequently the fans get entertained with the best hockey they could see, no cheap shots, no fights, but hard hitting, fast skating end to end, great defense and good goalkeeping.
You betcha! talloola. That is why I said they were 'classy', they showed us just how the game of hockey can and should be played.

I only saw the first period, the overtime, and the shoot-out. I watched the highlights of the rest of the game but that isn't enough to form an opinion on how they played. I liked Burrows move in the shoot-out. He let go of the puck for a split second and I think that froze the goalie. A quick deke and the puck was in the top of the net.
Could we call this an upset win?....

You missed a dandy for sure, juan.

Gee, gerry the Canucks success must really have your knickers in a knot.

ROTFLMFHO. :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Talloola- I'm wondering why A.V. isn't using the Sedins in shootouts.

I saw one of them score in the shoot last year, but not sure why they are not chosen more.

Thinking about it, I would think they are game to do it if asked, but would rather see others get their
chance, as 'they' get so much ice time, and many chances during a game. They are all about the team,
they are all class, they will do anything to help the team in any way they can.

And, of course if no one else is getting the job done, you bet they will be out there on shoot outs.

Looking at it from vineault's side, I will guess that he thinks the same, so much is put on their
shoulders to lead this team, so let others do it in the shoot out, if they can, makes it more
balanced, gives other players a chance to 'shine'.

I have a question for you too, talloola. Before the game started, I saw an interview with Booth where he talked about being traded to the Canucks. What bothered me and what forms the basis of my question, is that David appeared not to have known about the trade before he was told to meet with the coach just prior to a game starting, only to be told he that he was no longer with the team. With such a life changing event, wouldn't it be fairer to let the guys know what was happening? This was very similar to the Cammalari trade - but he was actually yanked from the game and told to pack his bags. Am I out of line here or what?

Also, do you have any idea why so many player's sticks keep breaking? Not a game goes by without broken sticks littering the ice. One might form the opinion that the manufacturers have found a way to keep themselves in business. 8O

Now that makes perfect sense, talloola. After all, the Canucks have no shortage of guys who can make the shots - it all depends on who the goalie is they are facing at the time. Did get a real kick out of Howard being the one left wanting last night while Lu stood tall and firm and confident. Got such a kick out of Lu skating across the ice with his arms open in thanks to his team.

very common with trades, and always has been, I guess some of these things just get negotiated to death
and as soon as there is an agreement, the plug is pulled, doesn't matter when it is.

there has been times where a player has found out from television, when it is the trade
deadline.

the stick thing is very annoying, these sticks are not wood, they are very 'wippy', hence the players
want them because of the improvements in their shots, but that comes with these problems of breakage.

players use to be able to check on top of opposition stick, but now sticks break so easy, and it is also a
penalty, probably because it is also very annoying to the league and teams that the sticks break
all the time. They are two piece and come apart where they are joined.
I sure wish I was the owner of a hockey stick company, they must be making millions, as these sticks
are very very expensive.

I see many plays where a players stick is smacked and doesn't break, (no penalty), but when it does
break (penalty), same play.

We are an extension of our canuck team, so good at what we do, some little minds don't like us, I
remember seeing that kind of behavior in elementary school, it is called 'jealousy'. lol

Geez, talloola.........that sure is cold...not a thought for the player or how they are supposed to get their lives in order on the spur of the moment. :-(

Wouldn't mind even having some stock in the company.

I find it interesting that - from the poll question early this morning on team 1040, they asked which
game you found better to watch, the last boston/canuck game or last nights game canucks/detroit

the last I heard (don't know how it ended up) the boston game was ahead.

it seems more people, who sent in answered to the poll, (guys) want to see the 'hatred', the 'fights', and this is what makes it for them,
but I am the exact opposite, as during that boston game, I was getting annoyed because the hockey
was being interrupted by chippy stuff, fights, etc., and it broke up the flow of the game.

just shows how different people see the game.

Guess it has a lot to do with who the fans detest more, Timmy or Toddy.

Now I'm wondering if the Canucks still have "enough gas in the tank" to handle Joisy!

Too right, talloola. What I can't fathom, for the life of me, is that many of these players have been on the same teams growing up and thus formed some type of bond with each other which, IMHO, would make it even harder for them to 'hate' each other once they are on opposing teams in the NHL. So-called 'fans' who watch the game hoping for fights, blood, and injuries are the same type of people who look for the same in any other sport.

Now I'm wondering if the Canucks still have "enough gas in the tank" to handle Joisy!

I think the win against Detroit might have put some 'fuel in their tank.'

"mainly" was screwed up because of auto correct on my damn phone. As for jealous? That's rich. Mark my words, the sedin sisters, louie louie and the rest of the canuckleheads will fold like a cheap chair when the playoffs start and the chips are down.

as I said the other day, keep praying.

Yep, that's what I'm hoping for. Don't know if my blood pressure can take anothere one like last night!

I think schneider is playing tonight, and bitts might be in the lineup too.

Its so hard in 24 hours to recover those muscles, (suppose to take 48 hours to be back to normal according
to the experts), and they are also travelling, so I will be very happy if they can pull this one off.

Jersey has a very very talented top line, and brodeur has been playing at the top of his game.
And, they are defensively solid.
With the exception of 'when' their top line is on the ice, the
game shouldn't be as fast as last nights.

Kovalchuk is an awsome player, hope our defense and goalkeeping is up to the task of containing him.

Que sera, sera. Guess your Momma never told you 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. As far as jealousy, you seem to be the only one here, at the moment, whose obvious envy of the Canuck's success has taken the form of nasty, bitter, belittling comments.

Yep, that's what I'm hoping for. Don't know if my blood pressure can take another one like last night!

Yeah, I remember us discussing the OT and shoot-outs before, JLM..........they do tend to cause us concern for hypertension - though the wins sure are worth the worry.
