Now, that's funny. You'd almost think this is why people call the Sedin's the 'sisters'. Oh, right, that's exactly the case.

Hearing it come from you is priceless, aren't you afraid talloola will call you names and say that you've never posted anything worth reading?

TP- Maybe you should consider your own credibility (rock bottom) before questioning others'.:lol::lol::lol:

not very impressive, nashville had many more scoring chances than canucks, and as I mentioned the other day as soon as we play nashville, reallity will set in again, the twins will dissapear, because they can't stand up to this type of game, heavy going and close checking, takes all of their offense out of the game, and they just don't play this type of game very well, although I thought burrows played pretty good, he can muck around in this kind of game quite well.

Couldn't get much by Pekka Rinne last night, man he's good. It seemed as if the Canucks were just one stride behind much of the time last night. They had some really cool skirmishes, I think you call them, with lots of chances at the net but just missing time and again. I could almost see them 'melt' when the Preds scored the short-handed goal - that must have hurt. Nice goal by Wiese.

luongo played great, gave the team a chance to get back in it, but no way, it wasn't going to happen.
I thought Lu made some really great stops last night - those two on Weber were classic - Lu was so in control. I started telling the Canucks they needed to score for Lu as he kept them in time and again.

Watching the Sens and the Caps right now. Ovi is out with an injury so his team mates needn't worry about him stealing their pucks tonight. Hope the Sens lay a lickin' on the Caps.

The league is getting exciting now, I love this time of the year, from now right thru the playoffs.

Trade deadline monday, wonder who is going where, and if nash will go anywhere.

The Detroit Red Wings own the most points in the NHL due to their staggering success at home.

The Vancouver Canucks aren't far behind thanks to the league's best road record.

The Red Wings will try to extend their NHL-record home winning streak to 24 games while the Canucks attempt to gain a share of the lead in the race for the Presidents' Trophy on Thursday night.

The Red Wings (41-18-2) have a league-leading 84 points, two more than the Canucks (38-16-6) heading into the conclusion of their season series.

Detroit has taken two of three from Vancouver so far, including a 2-0 victory at home Oct. 13.

The Red Wings have been nothing short of a juggernaut as host, winning a league-record 23 in a row and going 26-2-1 overall.

Not only do the Canucks pose the biggest threat to that streak yet, leading the league with a 20-10-2 road record, but they're very happy to get that opportunity.

"They're on quite a bit of a roll," goaltender Roberto Luongo said. "I think that's what makes this game so exciting for our team. We've been hoping they would still be undefeated by the time we got there.

"Talking to the guys, even two to three weeks ago, I was hoping that they would hold on until we got there at least, so we can get a chance. That's what's fun about playing the game; challenges like that. I think as a group, we're excited about it and we're going to step up to the plate."

Vancouver might be catching the Red Wings at an opportune time, as they're missing Pavel Datsyuk - their leader with 43 assists and 59 points. The All-Star left wing had arthroscopic surgery Tuesday to remove fragments from his right knee and is expected to be sidelined for two weeks.

Detroit didn't fare well without Datsyuk on Tuesday, falling 2-1 at Chicago.

"Pav's been out before and he's a huge part of our team but we're going to need guys to step up," said Jimmy Howard, who had 27 saves against the Blackhawks in his return from a broken finger. "This is an opportunity for other guys now to play in a role maybe they're not used to playing in, maybe getting some more ice time, and they're going to find a way to get it done for us."

Valtteri Filppula may be one of those players. The center's 17 goals are third on the team and two shy of his career high set in 2007-08, but his goal Tuesday was just his second in 18 games.

Johan Franzen, the team leader with 23 goals, has 12 goals and 10 assists during the home winning streak. However, the right wing has just one goal and one assist in 10 home meetings with the Canucks.

Like Detroit, Vancouver is looking to rebound from a defeat, falling 3-1 at Nashville on Tuesday.

Henrik Sedin leads the Canucks with 64 points, while his twin brother Daniel Sedin is second with 61 and first on the club with 26 goals. Both were kept off the score sheet by the Predators after getting six points each in the previous two games.

The Sedins are looking to regain that scoring edge by continuing their success against the Red Wings.

Henrik Sedin has 18 points in his last 12 games against them, while Daniel Sedin has 14 goals and 24 assists in 41 career matchups.

Very exciting match up tonight, should be fun

I would expect a better showing from the twins in this game as the wings and the canucks play a similar
style, not so defensive and closed down as nashville.
If they can't contribute in this game it is a real indication of how it will be in the playoffs against
them, so this is an important game for daniel and hank.

Great game, great finish. Luongo, the Sedins and Burrows all deserve first stars. Don't know how many games like that my blood pressure can take.

Simply outstanding game...........wish all of them could be this good, this exciting. Glad to see Burrows get the goal he was owed for his 500th game. If this is a foreshadowing of things to come between these two teams, we should be in for a real thrilling series. The one thing I kept remembering is that Datsyuk wasn't playing tonight, he will be there next time these two powerhouse teams meet.

I always look forward to watching the Red Wings and Canucks - these are two classy teams, even the way they carry themselves on the ice sends a message. During one of the Canucks' PPs, one of the broadcasters said, "it's funny to see the Red Wings chasing the Sedins around the ice." I had to laugh because that is just what it looked like at that point - Canucks had some really good shifts in the Detroit zone. Lu was fantastic, sure he let in 3 goals.......ah, but so did Howard, and who won the shoot-out......LU!

So now the Canucks are one point back of Detroit ..........well done gentlemen.

Actually I thought the Canucks had a very slight edge in play. Bertuzzi kind of puts a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to Detroit. Nothing but a real thug!

Anything that happens now means nothing. The Canucks and the sedine sisters will fold in the play offs. Like they always do.

I wonder if Detroit thinks what happened tonight "means nothing"!:lol::lol::lol:

Yeah, I know about the baggage Bertuzzi is carrying around, JLM. As long as he behaves himself, I can put up with him and he plays a pretty good game when he puts his mind to it. I thought the Canucks were a bit frazzled for a bit in the 2nd but that series of PPs for Detroit put them to rights. The only complaint I had was Bieksa, he wasn't quite on his game at times tonight, other than that I thought the team played excellent hockey and they never gave up - which shows the character of the team.

By the look on Babcock's face, after Alex's goal, I would think not! LOL!

Yeah, Bieksa did give the puck away a couple of times. I thought even Rome played fairly decent tonight, he normally has a propensity for spending some time in "the box".

Honestly, I did question a couple of those penalties but why whine when we got away with a few things too. ;-) We sure didn't lack for shots on the net, it seemed like almost everyone on the team got a chance.

excellent game, I purposely waited to see all of your posts, just wanted to read the excitement in
words.

luongo played excellent.
yeah, bieksa seemed a bit too ready for this game, he was a bit frozen at times.

sedins played great, this game is where they should shine and they did along with burrows.

the kesler/booth/raymond line didn't do anything, but I did think raymond skated miles again, controlled
the puck a lot, and his skating is awsome.
booth's skating is awsome but he must blend that skating with handling the
puck, and that skill looks quite ragged right now, and offensively kesler
isn't getting it done, but the rest of his game, power play etc., is very
good.

hodgson also had a very good game, I love the future of this guy, he is so
smart, sees the game very thoroughly, and I hope canucks have him for his
entire career.

tanev looked very sharp, along with the rest of the Ds, another player I
hope canucks have for his entire career, I can just see him getting better
and better, another very smart, cool wise decision maker on the ice.

the control of the play right at the end, then scoring the tieing goal was a sight to behold, they
looked just awsome.

nice of bertuzzi to ice the puck to allow a faceoff in their end which led immediately to the goal.

and what can I say about burrows, his 'go to' move just makes me smile.

yeah, one point behind detroit now, with a game in hand.

tomorrow in new jersey who are playing excellent, have lots of wins, and have climbed up the point
chart, so hopefully canucks have some energy left to get a win in jersey.

just had a glass of wine, and we toasted burrows's 'go to move'.

I always did like Burrows ever since the first time I watched him play for the Canucks. I was just taking a peek at the team stats. was a little surprised to see Hank and Danny 20 odd points ahead of the next highest players. But we have to remember - they are "The Sisters".:lol::lol::lol:

I only saw the first period, the overtime, and the shoot-out. I watched the highlights of the rest of the game but that isn't enough to form an opinion on how they played. I liked Burrows move in the shoot-out. He let go of the puck for a split second and I think that froze the goalie. A quick deke and the puck was in the top of the net.
Could we call this an upset win?....

you'll have to take our word for it juan, if you saw the first period, then you saw them control the whole
period, and outshot the wings by many, second period was different, wings definitely had their chances, and
the third period was just like a playoff game, and the control right at the end to score that tieing goal
was a sight to behold, nothing fluky, pure passing plays, good shots, and then the goal, they earned it.

these two teams play very similar, consequently the fans get entertained with the best hockey they
could see, no cheap shots, no fights, but hard hitting, fast skating end to end, great defense and
good goalkeeping.

the two top teams in the NHL right now, and if canucks win tomorrow they will jump
one point ahead, doesn't really matter they are equally matched at this time of
the season, with under 20 games to go, should be a great run to the finish.

You're right. The Canucks had a lot of chances and outshot the Wings in the first but Detroit scored the only goal. In the second, Detroit
out shot Vancouver but Vancouver got the only goal.
I do take your word but I wish I'd seen the whole game. I did see the prettiest goal of the year though.
