During the Tampa - Boston series, I said that Vancouver couldn't beat the Bruins.

It's too bad that the Canucks don't have what it takes, but I think it's time to dump Luongo and the Sedins, and rebuild with some players who can do what needs to be done.

Use
Less

My god, when was the last time a final series was so lopsided with the scoring? That's horrible. Just proves that winning during the regular season means nothing if you decide that you don't want to stop shots or score goals in the finals.

Fire Luongo and the Sedins, they are completely use freaking less.

Yes, Congratulations to the Boston Bruins and Coach Julien. Congratulations to Timmie for a shut-out win. You were the better team tonight.

Congratulations to the Vancouver Canucks for a great year of hockey guys.

On a slightly brighter note for BC sports fans, the Lions are leading the Stamps 17 to 0 about half way thru the 3rd quarter.

congratulations to the boston bruins - 2011 stanley cup champions.

game was over for canucks as soon as the first goal was scored, they didn't have a smell
after that.

thanks to the canucks for a fantastic season, and playoff, lets do it again next year, just
plug a few of the holes, and away we go again.

GO CANUCKS GO

Congrats to Boston, clearly the better team.

The herd effect is rearing it's ugly head in downtown Vancouver...I wouldn't want my car parked downtown right now...

What a disaster, this team believed its press clippings.
They thought all they had to do was show up and they
would win. Boston is playing tonight like those great
teams from the late sixties and seventies and they are
giving Vancouver a lesson in how hockey is played. I
am a Montreal fan usually but I always cheer for the original
six when my team is gone. Vancouver went for speed
and passing, Boston went with the old fashioned great
Canadian game and it is winning.
They should trade the Lou and get a goaltender and the
sisters should go as well. How about them Canuks?
They are a waste of space with big heads and suspect talent.
I couldn't be happier tonight. Go Bruins.

Though I don't agree with some of the things you mentioned, Grumpy - I must say that I am very happy for Mark Recchi - the old Kamloops boy - what a wonderful night for him. But the guy that really impressed me? Brad Marchand - scrappy, nasty little bugger that he is - the guy is magic on the ice. When he took off with the puck, he was GONE! And though he wasn't able to get a goal in the series, I am really and truly happy for Tyler Seguin - what a fabulous night that kid must be having! It was, IMHO, a well-deserved win by the Bruins, and yes, I agree with you here Grumpy, they won because they played the game the old fashioned Canadian way.

What the Canucks will now do with the team is their business - for sure it won't be the same team next year and it will be interesting to see who stays and who goes. Were the coaches at all interested in my opinion, I would keep Burrows, Lapierre, Kesler, Malholtra, and Hamhuis right at the top of the list. Others will have their favorites, but these are my guys.

It was a great run and the Canucks are a great team. For the most part they played very well. Luongo let in some he shouldn't but he's one member, 18 other members got stone walled and you can't expect to win games without production from the offense. They have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of and on the positive side it was a good training ground for the Cup next year. GO CANUCKS GO.

Torres, Salo, Bieksa, Erhoff, Edler, Scheider are also keepers. So is Luongo. Actually I wouldn't change too much- give these guys one more year together and they WILL win the cup.

Thanks to all of you and remember... no matter where the Cup ends up... it is still Canada's sport.

Remember when the Jays won the World Series? Holy crap what was that all about?

Now all we need is an NFL franchise up there in Canada and then we'll have some real fun.

Boston played it right. They developed a team for the playoffs. You need size because no matter what rules they have for the season there aren't many in the finals.

Is anyone watching Vancouver burn tonight? I cannot believe what I am seeing. What a sad, sad day for Vancouver.

I just found it hard to believe this was anything but it was Boston's time. The Jacob's family doesn't want anything but people's butts in seats and buying popcorn since they own all the concessions.

Didn't this happen in 1994 when they lost to the Rangers.

As I had said on another board...

Surprising, I'm not entirely bitter by this loss. In fact, I'm not even upset.

Sure, the first goal hurt, but once the second goal went in, I knew that the Canucks were screwed, right then and there. The third goal just put the fork in a little more deeper, in my opinion.

First off, I must say, congrats to the Boston Bruins! I may not like you guys, but I was very impressed on how you all played in this game. You guys actually played with some heart and determination in this game, and it finally paid off with the Cup.

I also find it incredible that you guys went from an epic collapse last year, to an epic victory this year. The only closest thing that I think of in terms of that kind of turnaround is when the Flyers made it to the 2008 Conference Finals after finishing with just 22 wins in the year before.

Seriously, congrats guys!

Now, as for the Canucks. So close, and yet, no cigar. I could go on and say how sloppy you guys played in this game, but I won't.

I wish you guys all the best in another Cup run again. You guys were a joy to watch, as it has been fun. And to any of the fans who are blaming Luongo for this game, please don't blame him. This loss was a team effort, after all.

Well, other than that, thanks for the ride this year, folks!
