I'm beginning to wonder if it won't be Tampa Bay who will end up being the Canucks' Nemisis!

they just knocked washington out 4 straight

they will have to play either boston or philly, and boston are up 3 games to 0,
philly are a very good team, with very shaky goalies.

detroit and san jose have just gone into overtime.

san jose won in overtime, now have detroit down 3 games to 0,
big hole for detroit to climb out of now.
both of these teams are very good, I could not decide before hand,
which team I thought might prevail, next game is friday.

If san jose wins on friday, that is it for that series.

IF canucks are going to win this series, they should get busy right now, as they have just finished one 7 game series, and if they play another 7 game
series, the fatigue factor will be high, and san jose will be very fresh and
rested, makes a big difference, (so, I will send them a memo, OK?) lol

tampa bay will have over a week to rest up before they play next series,
and if boston win next game they will have a weeks rest.

I noticed edler was rather slow at times and sometimes took too long to make decisions in the
last game, i'm wondering if that long lay off has now caught up to him, he did not have a good game.

Even though samuelsson shot the puck for kesler's tip in, that is all he did last game, as he is
struggling big time, and definitely has some sort of problem, hence he was allocated to the fourth
line last game.

The twins look a little better, but if canucks are going to be successful they have to 'chip' in
with some points, this playoff stuff is too much for them, it's quite apparant.

The opposition has to be worried about two lines or more, and at the moment, canucks only have one
line doing damage, can't be victorious that way.

In an interview with 'Shay Webber', this morning he said that they were going to check the kesler
line heavier next game because they are playing so well, and they have to find a way to slow them
down, so it will be interesting to see how that plan works out.

Salo will be a gametime decision.

I guess I'll chime in here with a few comments.

The D men are playing mediocre at best. Don't seem to be able to hit that 1st pass like they did all season and seem to be mishandling the puck a lot, maybe the pressure and nerves of being the favorite are having this effect. Of course this seems to be affecting the whole team right now.

The Sedins, man what can I say, they have looked a little better the last couple of games but they seem to disappear whenever things get physical. I would have to say they don't seem to realize that it is a different sport come the playoffs and either they learn to play a physical game and better defensively or give up any chance of winning the cup. I really want them to step it up and get in playoff mode but do they even know what that is, it doesn't look like it so far, maybe some of their teammates will teach tham but it better be fast.

Kesler, Burrows, Hansen, Higgins - now maybe the twins should pay attention to these guys for a bit. If it weren't for this 4 we would be golfing. Now we should get the rest of the team on board and we could very well have the cup.

Other cast- Raymond is playing with intensity but just seems snake-bit, can't buy a goal. Samuelson must be hurt or something, he is a playoff veteran and just isn't playing physical enough or carrying any intensity. The 4th liners have been filling their roles well and if the top line gets going their job will get even easier.

Luongo- well the Hawks got in his head and I was worried about him for a while but now they are behind us he is looking like Lou again. Would probably look even better if the D and the twins played better in front of him.

One last note...Who is this Pekka Renne magician. I knew he was pretty good but has proven to be amazing thus far. We could be up 3-0 again without any OTs if it wasn't for him. Gotta give this kid big kudos for holding his team in all 3 games so far, hope he falters a bit or it could be a long series again.

They are gradually improving since their mid round slump against Chicago...............I think they will make steady progress until they meet Tampa Bay and then it's anyone's guess.

tampa bay has to go another round first, no guarantee they will be there either, looks like it
will be boston for them next.

the way san jose are playing, (watched game last night), they are improving with every game, and if
detroit can't even win one game against them, it tells all of us just how good they are right now.
If canucks get thru this series, and meet san jose, at the level they are playing right now, they
will also lose 4 straight, like detroit.

canucks cannot win another series, (and maybe not even this one), without deeper 'scoring', and
without the sedins, the scoring is light, not near good enough for conference final.

we have to watch those sedins over the next few games, if they can't contribute, (right now they
are trying, and maybe trying their best), canucks won't have a hope in hell of winning against
san jose, who are getting scoring from many parts of their team.

san jose have been expected to win for quite a long time, have choked out many times, this year
they seem to 'get it', and they also have some very talented young players who are 'scoring', its
not all left up to thornton and marleau, 'they are deep', and to beat them the opposition will
have to be deep.

I guess I'll chime in here with a few comments.

or something, he is a playoff veteran and just isn't playing physical enough or carrying any intensity. The GO CANUCKS GO :canada:

I think vineault has a problem concerning twins as, he has to put burrows there to even give them a
chance to 'wake' up, but in my opinion that line with burrows, kesler and raymond was awsome when they
were playing together, and raymond looked so so good, then he had to take burrows off of that line and
put higgins there, (and he is great), but I still liked the line better with burrows on it, as the
three of them are so compatable.

it takes burrows out of the equation when he is on with the twins, as he was scoring and very dangerous
on the other line.

don't know what vineault can do about the twins, he needs burrows contributing points, but he needs
twins to improve, and no one else who has been put with them has any success either, burrows has been
the only one, (but not now)

You know, maybe tonight that line will show up and score 3 goals, and I won't have to whine about
them again, that would be 'cool'.

yeah, I think renne is a magician, nominated for vezna this season, and for good
reason, and he is also very very big, about 6ft 6in.

I guess the one thing we can hope for (and count on?) is S.J. can't play at that level forever, so maybe it's good they are doing it now.

they didn't play at that level against los angeles, they have built to this level as they went
along, probably expected detroit to be much stronger than l.a., and rose to the occasion,
don't see them fading away at all, unless they get some serious injuries, the playoffs aren't
that long, teams built momentum, and run with it, that seems to be what they are doing right
now.

that is what canucks have to do, keep building and getting stronger, but they are actually
just hanging in there, winning more than they are losing, but they need the extra boost now,
can't wait any longer.

hope to see that tonight.

That was a little easier on the nerves. Nashville down 3/1! Hank finally scored!

yes, I laughed at glen healey's remark after henrik's goal, "Oh now I know what he needs to score,
no goalie." lol

Twins played better tonight, and I like how the defense chipped in, and looked very solid, especially
hamhuis, edler had his moments, but played fine.

Kesler was a 'monster', as pierre mcQuire would say, best goal in the playoffs so far.

They will be relaxed and happy on the flight home, good for them.

canucks 'again' were the best team on the ice.

GO CANUCKS GO.

That was the second funniest line of the broadcast.

During the intro to the game, Ron Mclean was talking about the series, and he was saying how important the game was. The video on the screen was showing the crowd, then it switched to one of the Nashville cheerleaders, who of course was fairly well endowed, and Ron was saying 'the game will be a big one...I said big ONE...' and kept on talking.....

I lauged out loud at that.

Exactly, last thing they need is another trip back to Nashville.

Great game and I bet you were just as relieved as me that it didn't go to OT again, JLM.

In another hockey note, Team Canada just beat the U.S. in a shoot-out after 1 period of OT. Team Canada will now play Norway tomorrow. Eberle and Nash scored for Canada and Reimer shut-out the U.S. on the shoot-out.

big win for canada. has columbus ever been in the playoffs? I can't remember, but I always feel
sad for Rick Nash, one of the best players in the NHL, and nicest guys, never to have had a chance to go for
the stanley cup.

Eberle will be a great player in the NHL, he is so talented, that edmonton oiler team is going to have
their day soon, just full of up and coming talent, and they have the first overall pick again, a
very hard way to obtain that pick, but another young highly sought after player to add to their group of very
young players.
I hope the edmonton fans realize what they're in for, should be exciting down the road.

that is funny, didn't turn the game on till just after they dropped the puck, so I missed that
little gem.

You got that right, my blood pressure couldn't take another O.T. Just wish they would do two things, play the entire game at the opponents end of the rink and start the third period up two goals...............that's all I ask for!

Maybe we should be praying the Canucks get to play Boston!

why -

it would be nice to win this series first, then skip over san jose, who will probably
win their series tonight or the next game.

then I wouldn't care if it was boston or tampa bay.
