vancouver cannucks take the series. Yipeee! Way to go, 'nucks!

I'm feeling real good but have to take some time to get back to normal 'again'. I'm going to
have a nice glass of wine, talk to my daughters, and try to relax and soak it in, my cheeks are
bright pink like two apples, i'm still too hot, the heart is back to normal, and i've got a
big smile on my face, it was worth it.

Two days they have, then start up again against nashville, a long way to go, but at least we can
kick chicago in the butt, out of vancouver and send them home.

Yep, all's well that ends well, now maybe the naysayers will disappear until October.

yeah, and good riddance to all of them. i'm happy tonight, will sleep well.

A great game and now Corey Crawford can write his own contract!

Can you believe Toews is only 23yo?

yeah, thats all he is, but he actually didn't have a great tournament, tried his heart out as
always, and never gives up, and has 3rd and 4th efforts, which payed off for him tonight, glad
it was only for a short time.

yes, crawford was amazing.

Yep, it's a great night, but my heart almost stopped at least twice- the late goal by Chicago with less 2 minutes left and then that Canuck penalty in O.T. I thought to myself oooooooooooooooh oooooooooooooooooh. Actually I thought the whole team played "text book" hockey tonight. It's a bloody wonder they didn't score about 4 times during that 2 or 3 minute onslaught. I'm guessing Nashville will be easier than Chicago..................just hope the Canucks don't think so.

no they won't think so at all, but they do have to regroup and push on.

that late goal just about did me in, I was watching the clock for the last 10 minutes, counting down
the minutes, real deflating, I wasn't sure I would handle it, but here I am, smiling, feeling good,
drinking wine.
this team is just oozing with 'character', a bunch of good guys, who are so mentally
tough, kept coming back, wouldn't quit, played two 'stinky' games, then turned it
around, many of the 'so called' lesser players rose their games tonight, and looked
real good, a great team effort.

remember someone, (won't mention name) saying that they fixed the fourth game so
that they would make all the money with a game back at rogers center, well, see
what could happen if that were true, they would never tinker with possibilities
of losing the series, and they came close.
nope, they would have loved to win that fourth game, and save all of this extra
battling for them, and the possibility of losing the series, that is what would
have been tough to take for many.

Yep, if you are serious about the Stanley Cup you don't worry about gate receipts.

What a game and series!

They should have no problem with Nashville but the Red Machine lurks on the horizen.

My heart was fibrillating from the moment the Habs dropped the puck in their game to finally win the 6th for a chance at the 7th. I barely had it under control when the Cannucks were underway. What a night. Great game for the Cannucks and their fans - I was so happy for all of you who hung in and kept believin' Victory is yours and it is so sweet!

CANNUCKS ROCK THE ICE!

Corey was unbelievable in goal last night - I began to think that he was impervious but Alex had his number in O.T.

I have been a fan of Jonathan's since he was with Team Canada. He is a stand-up player and both he and Kane did their level best last night. It will be cold comfort to Captain Serious that he scored the only Hawk's goal last night.

Well we knew the Canucks had it in them as proven by their regular season record and we know that Luongo is one of the best goal tenders. Of course what we don't know is how many lucky breaks the other team is going to get or unlucky breaks the Canucks will get. The teams are so closely matched these days that for a single game it's hard to predict the outcome, but I think over 7 games the best team generally prevails. Nothing is certain in life but we can savour this for the next two weeks anyhow, then it could get tough with either S.J. or Detroit.

I didn't watch the game last night. I sat at home and read instead. After the last three games with the Canucks failing spectacularly in game 4 and 5 and then the huge disappointment in game 6, I couldn't take it anymore. Everyone is always so bummed. It's only the first round. Judging from people's reactions and consternation, you'd think it was the final. So I took a stand and snubbed social propriety. After numerous texts and calls and what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-yous and my friends, decked out in their blue and white finery, roundly condemning me as a wet blanket, I curl up in my favourite chair for a nice quiet evening. It was a warm night. I have my balcony door wide open and brew myself a cup of coca leaf tea. Two minutes into the game I get a text from my roommate ("YAY BURROWS!! 1-0"). I almost feel some remorse, but then there's three hours of silence. 10 o'clock rolls around still no calls or texts. The game must be over by now, I figure, I guess we lost. I figure I could probably finish this chapter before my roommate comes home dejected and somehow blaming me for jinxing everything. But suddenly, the streets and apartment buildings around me explode with joy. I didn't hear anyone cheer for the first goal, but the city went absolutely nuts for this one. I put two and two together and figured given the lateness of the cheering it must be an overtime goal. Then my cell phone and my landline start ringing simultaneously. I can barely understand the callers over the roar in the background but apparently I suck and they can't believe I missed that. Whatever, it was 1-0 for the whole game and then Chicago scores shorthanded at the end of the third period. Geez, I'd rather not have seen that actually. My book is pretty good.

please don't overlook nashville, that would be a mistake, they could win the series, they have
one of the best goalies on the planet, and two defencemen who are the among the best in the league, shay
webber just got nominated for the 'best defencemen' award, along with two others.

and, as I always nag about, it doesn't matter what place teams finished, they are
all very very close in caliber, and in playoffs, anything can happen, only 7 games.

we cannot look past next series and on to anybody, it ain't over till its over, and it hasn't even
started yet. lol

Very true Talloola, but Squire Barnes (who is much wiser than I in matters sportual), says Canucks over Nashville in five. He says Canucks defense is better than Nashville's defense.
