They are turning them out quickly these days, maybe there
will be colony starting up soon, lol.

There present coach, Jacque Martin might not be there next season if they don't shape up soon.

The Canucks play Montreal next so we will get an indication of how they compare with Toronto and other teams Vancouver has recently played. It will only be an indication because so many variables can affect the way a team performs. If a team has a morning practice on the day of the game the coach can ruin the team with too much aerobics and bull work. On game day all they need is a brisk skate and some skills practice.
I see Toronto just had a fairly large trade. I haven't got the details. There should be more info this am.

dion phaneuf has gone to toronto, along with a couple of
players, for hagman, stajan and mayers.
Also, Gigere is going to toronto for toskala and blake.

I don't think we have to worry about vineault making mistake on morning practices, or skates
and such, they seem to have that routine down to a science, and players can
opt out sometimes for 'maintenance' reasons if they have a good reason.

interesting, well anyway, we've got rid of phaneuf, from our
division and
toronto is a good place for him, he's a pain in the butt.

I think cammalleri is injured for montreal, so that will
make a difference in their goal output, he has been playing
well this year, lots of goals, don't understand why calgary
let him go.
Don't understand why calgary let cammalleri go last season.

Montreal are a puzzle, not playing up to their potential, but
goalies can be tough, I was surprised when they hired Jaque Martin
for coach, not my choice, but maybe being french canadian, was a factor.

Somewhere, someplace
The game versus the Leafs last night (saturday, jan. 30) as a real good one for the Canucks. Down three nothing after the first, and they come back with five un-answered goals. The Leaf fans in the bar really shut themselves up. Good job on the comeback Van.

I hope the Habs can get it together........Not together enough to beat the Canucks mind you but I'd hate to see them in the shape Toronto is in right now. There are only five NHL teams in Canada and it is depressing to see most of them struggling just to make the playoffs. Salary cap or no salary cap, Canadian teams can't seem to compete with big American teams and hang on to their good draft choices. Global warming might do it. A nice, warm, sunny beach on Lake Superior in January would help....;-)

Ottawa is recovering very nicely, on an 8 game winning
streak I believe, and they look strong.
With todays trades, calgary and toronto will look different
for awhile, we'll see if there is any improvement.
Iginla isn't getting any younger, so they have to start
looking to the future for a new superstar, I believe he
is 33 now, so they can't depend on him to carry the team,
he needs a support cast.

I have nothing against Toronto but it sure looks good on Burke. Please fire him. We'll hire him in Manitoba for the vacant waterboy position.

I've been a Toronto fan for years, but I admit I laughed at the ability to turn a 3-0 lead into a loss.

I'm not sure what it will take to turn the team around, but I think step 1 is for CBC to stop paying any attention to the team.

rangers defeated colorado, 3-1
That keeps us 4 points up on colorado, with
even games played, as they will have lost both games in hand over us.

gaboriik scored a hat-trick

What's the possibility of the Canucks being the only team in the Northwest Division to get into the playoffs?

Well, at this point in time, colorado is still looking strong, and unless they get some serious injuries, or just
hit the wall, they should easily make the playoffs.

I still believe calgary will scratch their way back into
playoffs, (hope i'm wrong), even with these trades they
made today, I still don't see them improving their scoring
chances much, and they are weaker on defence, but if you
remember canucks last year at this time, we were on a nine
game losing streak, and many were calling for vineault's
head, they came back and won the division.

No, I don't think that will happen, but not impossible,
but very improbable.

I was just looking over the stats and it looks like the Canucks next game against the Habs will be a cakewalk. The stats show that Vancouver has scored thirty more goals than the Habs and allowed twenty fewer goals against. On the other hand, if Price is particularly hot and Montreal works really hard the Canucks might have their work cutout for them.

Nah...........The Canucks will win by three goals...;-)

with cammalleri out of the line up, it really hurts habs.
he had about 26 goals, and was always a scoring threat
out there.

canucks haven't played that great on the road this season, so
they must improve that stat, and when on the road, the
home coach has 'first' change, so our replacement defence
can be taken advantage of, as they were at the beginning
of the game in toronto.

Salo might be playing, he did practice with the team, so
I guess it's a game time decision tomorrow.

You may want to have a gander at those Alberta hockey scores tonight. LOL

I just jumped the gun by a couple of days on Saturday, Talloola, anyway this is just about as sweet.

calgary lost 3-0 to philly

edmonton beat carolina 4-2

I watched both games at once, just kept switching back and forth.

the calgary fans were doing lots of booing, anyway, they
will probably play a little better once the new players
become more established, but it's sure nice to see phaneuf
'gone'.
the players they brought in aren't bad at all, should make
them better, (but maybe it will take 5 years lol)
