if calgary wins the series, i would rather it happen away from rogers arena too.

I doubt if much would happen in the first round- Stanley Cup final could be a different story, but I'd hope after the fiasco in 2011 somebody has learned something. Outlawing booze sales for the day might tone things down! :)

i wasn't thinking of 'anything' happening other than it is such a bummer to sit and watch the opposition
win the game and series in your own building, nothing more than that, so if calgary is going to win the
series, do it on saturday, not in game 7.

Think of the revenue Vancouver would be losing. More importantly they are not going to lose in either game 6 or game 7. :)

the big revenue comes for the teams in round 2 and further, if they continue, round 1 is much less,
through the NHL

watching the opposition win a series and eliminate your team, on your turf, is
no fun, at that point no one, not even management is thinking of money.k

All in all it was a satisfying season with some outstanding play in the playoffs-especially considering the Bee Ess we suffered through last season.

And the Future is Bright!

i totally agree, i'm allready looking forward to next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
well, chicago ended nashville's season, so they now move on.
chicago will play the winner of minnesota/st. louis series.

detroit defeated tampa bay so they can win the series next game, we'll see.

calgary ended vancouver's season, and they move on.

wierd game 3 quick goals for canucks, allmost too quick, then a pause, and very quickly calgary
caught up, then one then another 4-4 tie for awhile, then you could see calgary getting the
momentum, so thats it.

calgary plays anaheim now, that should be interesting, as anaheim had to deal with winnipeg which
is a completely different team than calgary, so anaheim will have to adjust to the fast smaller
young team, a team that played an excellent series against vancouver.

good season for canucks, more than we expected, they played hard, made the playoffs, so now
they can build more strength into the team, a bit bigger, a bit faster and a bit younger.

i have no complaints, i enjoyed their season.

It was a good hard fought game by both teams. Both teams played well enough to win and sometimes the bounces just don't go right. In a way it's a bit of a relief, can do other things without having every second night tied up with hockey. Maybe someone can figure out a way to have the playoffs in the winter. :)

there are still lots of other playoff games to watch, the games will get better and better, can't be
just stuck on one team, that sucks.
after the next series, the conference finals will be great.

i quite enjoy the hockey in the evening, as most of the shows on tv are crap, and throughout the day,
while i'm working around the house, i have national geograhic, or something similar that i listen
to while i'm busy.
i don't have a garden any more, missed it at first, but i also notice i don't have a sore lower
back any more at this time of year, that i often had from bending and digging etc. i'm going to
do some container veggie growing, should be fun.

I'll keep an eye on things, just won't be glued to it for 3 periods night after night. I hope Calgary can beat Anaheim and I don't see any real reason for them not to- they are hungry enough.

and i'm sure anaheim is just as hungry, with a bigger, more talented and exerienced team, but hey, crazier
things have happened, so the gAmes will have to be played, but i have seen how bad anaheim want to win
this year, so i can't see them allowing this young upstart team to take it away from them, but it will
be a good series.
anaheim have defeated calgary last 20 times they have met.

I heard that mentioned while watching the game tonight and was wondering if it was exactly true- guess I could google it. :)

Actually the Flames trounced the Ducks 6/3 on March 11. :)

while canucks were flying high with their presidents cup winning teams and a team that played well for
a number of years, went to cup final and gave their fans very very good hockey, the calgary flames
were stumbling along, Iginla was not playing like the superstar, and he also had no support, they
were finishing lower down, hence picking up good draft picks, then they acquired good young players
when they traded aginla, and they began their turnaround, cAnucks were still playing very well, but
then had the two 'out' in the first round playoffs, while everyone expected them to finish high,
they did not.
then came torterella, a disaster, and while calgary were continueing to improve, canucks hit the
skids, and this year, while canucks turned around and started to move upward, calgary Again improved,
and now those young players they acquired, either in high draft picks or for aginla trade are showing
their stuff.
the difference in the playoffs wasn't just their speed, it was both sets of defense. cAnucks defense
couldn't hAndle the fast skating good forwards, and calgAry's defense are very good, they scored
many goAls all during the season from the back end. their defense kept cAnucks forwards to the
outside many times, made it hArd for them to get to the goal.
and just think how well they would have played if giordano,Captain, had not been injured, he was in the
conversation for the norris trophy nomination, and probably would have won it.

cAnucks will make changes, they have to, And they know that, we certainly don't have to tell them,
they Are way ahead of any of us with an opinion of their team.

i look forward to next year, when canucks can again move forward, like calgary did two years ago,
and also the pacific division next year will be even tougher than it was this year.
san jose will do better, edmonton as well, and we can see what calgary will do, don't have a clue what
arizona will do, l.a. will be better, and anaheim as well, so canucks have their work cut out for
them again, it will be A dog fight just to make the plAyoffs.
i would like to see canucks trade miller, they could probably get a decent player
for him, he is in his mid thirties, needs to move on, and he is making a lot
of money, they need to get rid of that contract, and put the money into a
couple of different players.
the twins will be back, but canucks cAn now build a top line, starting with
horvat, he is showing what he is made of, finished the season as probably
canucks best player, better than vrbata, even though he scored all of the
goals during reg. season, horvat was much better in the playoffs.
