We all know who makes excuses. I understand hockey and fully understand that regardless how 'close' every team is, if a #1 seed loses particularly in the 1st round, no matter how you spin it, is called a choke.
_______________________________________________________________________________
nope, its called 'parity', which was apparant all season, but the more games that
are played, the harder it is for the lower teams to catch up to the higher teams,
which gives an illusion that team #8 is much worse than team #1.

In the playoffs they all start out with 'zero' games won, and with only 16 teams
and so few games to play, the 'parity' really shows up.

choking is only if you are standing over a 2 ft. putt, and miss it.

How was talloola able to update my post?

But to respond to talloola after 82 games, it is reasonable the better team should be seeded higher. When they fail to perform it is called a choke to all but the most delusional fans.

You are missing an important point, perhaps the loss wasn't from failure to perform, maybe the winner got a lucky bounce off the boards! Surely you've heard of teams winning who "didn't deserve to win", can just as easily work the other way!

You are so right, JLM...........so much for my hopes it would be the Pens vs the Canucks in the final..........think that hope is almost gone now. :-(

I think you might be on to something. Was beginning to wonder where you got to.

vineault has his responsibility, he shouldn't be fired for the power play, they should get another
power play coach, or he should do it, or bowness, or a new guy, they can't do everything they need
the third guy.
this newell brown was suppose to be the 'second' coming, according to the so called experts, but?
he is suppose to be the power play geruu, but of course we can't blame him, of course not. !!!!!
it is 'his' responsibility.

of course he is the head of the ship, and a good one. trotz and ruff are the heads of their ship,
and they are still there after years and years, i am just saying, it is getting stale, that old
first move, FIRE THE COACH, they have to look a bit deeper than that, have to be more intelligent
than that, and don't just give in to the pressure of the fans, that is the worst thing to do.
I hope gillis is stronger than that, but one never knows.

others who also have responsibility, shouldn't be dumping all of it on the coach, thats too easy.

if he did get fired, montreal would snap him up in five minutes, they are probably just waiting
to see what happens in vancouver before they make a selection.

then what does vancouver do, bring up MacTavish, and make everyone think that is the answer, it
isn't, just a bandaid fix.

its the players, and the power play, that power play, not working causes so much trickle down
effect throughout the whole game, 'just fix it'.

the fans are the worst help of all, sit on their hands, play with their cell phones, texting
thru the game, why don't they try to be real fans, instead of doing their corporate crap
while a hockey game is on, I detest the vancouver fans for that quiet building, why don't
they help when the going is tough, nope, just sit there with long faces, pouting, and blaming
the team for their own saddness, poor retarded babies.
it won't be long before babies are born with their hands sticking out, thumbs cocked, waiting for someone to
put a cell phone in them.

the team had better fans when canucks had bad teams.

What I really can't understand, talloola, is why the Canucks are so hated by so many Canadians???? Where the heck did they ever earn that much hatred?? It really stunned me when I heard a survey saying that most Canadians would rather see a US team win the Cup rather than the Canucks.

You notice how all the "real fans" are coming out of the wood work?

It is a sure sign that is play-off time when posters we rarely see here drop in........not that they are particularly missed the rest of the season.

Makes you wonder if sports fans are actually rational.

Canucks have historically come through when their backs are against the wall!
You are a True Believer, JLM! If only hope could make it true, I would still Believe the Pens had a chance. LOL!

There's a good thing about having hockey games in the USA, they are on in the evening not the afternoon. If the Canucks game tonight was in Vancouver, it would start at 4 pm, not 7:30. So Toronto has to stay up, too bad.

Yep, these play-offs are making for some really late nights in this household too, DG. But, at least I don't have to be up by 4:30 in the morning in order to watch international curling.

I've been a Canucks supporter since 1972. In those 40 years I've learned that the play-offs are a depressing time of year. I have no hope left to offer.

I think the Leafs are more hated than the Canucks.

The Canucks haven't gotten a break in this series. They were the better team tonight.

Jonathan Quick is simply outrageously good..........the Canucks couldn't even buy a goal against this guy.

It will be over tomorrow night.

Should that be the case, and it could very well be what with Quick being so strong in goal.......then the bright side is that you will go back to posting in other threads.
