If you remember the Canucks had 3 winning rounds, so nothing to criticise there!

The sister's minus 20 rating belies your claim that there is nothing to criticize. Add to that the reality that they didn't perform that well against Chicago. Chicago just forgot to start on time.

I didn't get to watch much of the game tonight but from what I saw, the Kings took a page out of the Bruins play book and played the Nucks tough. That's all you really have to do to beat them. Bitch slap a few guys and the Canucks are done.

I think the canucks did too much bike riding around L.A. yesterday and had too much sun.

We definitley saw the 'new' darryl sutter coached l.a. team, very dirty play until they got
up by two, then they became sweethearts and waited out the rest of the game for the win.
So be it, these games have an up side cause its a lesson again that things won't always be
in their favour.

Sedins are a couple of tough cookies, they stood in there without losing their cool, not many players
can do that, and burrows jumped in a tad too early, should have waited till the player penalized
himself on sedin, then jump in. The twins would rather 'not' have their players jump in like that,
they want the power play, and they will tough it out till the penalty is called, that is their
strategy, mentally tough like no other.

The team didn't play well tonight, we could see that from the drop of the puck, they were a bit lathargic,
and disconnected, one too many days in the warm weather I think.

Home now to play san jose on monday, back to the real weather, the hockey weather, and get back on
track.

There were many penalties 'not' called tonight, most by l.a., some by canucks. Kesler got fed up with
the antics, and got a few illegal lics in throughout the game, to get even.

Hodgson did not have a good game, and luongo seemed out of it too, but many times didn't have much
help.

Thats hockey, some nights teams just don't have their game. San Jose were a much tougher and better team
than l.a. and so were canucks, but not tonight.

Kind of glad now that I didn't go on that trip, why? you say? because I still have the money in the
bank, didn't spend a cent of it. lol next year though, I want to travel on this trip, maybe it will
be my xmas present.

they beat toronto tonight, hoo yah

What happened to Minnesota?
they lost

they lost

Last time I checked their stats they were right near the top, but now I see they are 1 6 and 3 in the last 10, oh well, don't have to worry about them for awhile I guess. Now we just need Chicago to lose a few in a row.

Yep, Chicago in the third round was much like Vancouver in the fourth, so I guess great teams aren't exempt from that sh*t. Or put another way I guess Boston had lucky breaks in the fourth like Vancouver did in the third. Did you check Chicago's plus/minus in the third round? You have to check that you don't put too much stock in the plus/minus, in the Sedin's case it could have been because weaker defensemen were on the same shifts.

It was the first round and not the third. Chicago won a cup. Until Vancouver does, it's pretty silly to call them great. At this point, they were merely a good team that couldn't get it done. Now that teams know that manhandling them is an effective way to neutralize them, it's clear that Vancouver is now to the western conference what Washington has been to the east.

Ummmmmmmmmh, I beg to differ, S.J. was first round, Nashville was second, Chicago was third round? NO?

No doubt you do. As per usual though, the facts are on my side.

2011 Stanley Cup playoffs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It must be so embarrassing for you given how you have repeatedly called me a moron and yet I keep showing you up.

OK, it was Chicago first round, mea culpa! Embarrassed?, why should I be? Unlike you I have been known to be mistaken, but I look at it as a learning process. With the exception of people like yourself, who takes every difference as some kind of competition. If you look back you will find in virtually every instance where I've referred to you as a "moron" or "idiot", it follows some disparaging remark you've made. I'm not a hockey expert (I can check with Talloola if I want to find out something) but in my humble opinion to put down the Sedins for their plus/minus in one series given their other stats are all right at the top is just plain ignorance. Scoring goals is only one aspect of hockey, creating chances for your team mates is equally as important as is taking away chances from the opponents (as Hank Sedin does in his 60 odd % rate of winning faceoffs)

You can add reading comprehension to the list of things you're not so good at.

I'm not putting the Sisters down because of their plus/minus in one series. I'm putting them down because they are soft players. When the going gets tough, they disappear. I'm using the plus/minus stat to reinforce the position. The last 4 games of the first round is a classic example. The Hawks woke up and made a series out of it. The sisters were a combined minus 13 in the those games.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh so you want to start up again! I can handle it! What do you know about comprehension? I already explained to you that plus/minus doesn't necessarily mean much about ability when it comes to offensive forwards. What is so difficult to understand about that simple concept? When the Sedins have a shift they are often paired up with the weaker defensemen. You are going to have to start getting up earlier in the morning.

People have been making lame excuses for Ovechkin's poor playoff performances as well...and the Sharks top line. Do you get together with Ovechkin supporters and swap excuses?

Anyone who thinks the Sedins aren't elite players is either a troll or doesn't have a clue.

That is the message I've been trying to convey, but apparently to no avail...............not sure if he's a troll or clueless! Maybe a lot of each! Just wishing he'd quit changing the subject. LOL

I don't think anybody is saying they aren't elite. What people are saying (and it isn't just here on this forum) is that they are soft and under-perform in the playoffs. There is quite a few players that that can be said about. As I alluded to before, Ovechkin is an elite player. How's his playoff resume?
