I only like live sports and yes I still have my original 1970/71 calender in mom's attic from Scotia Bank for having a Petros Puck acct. as a kid.

Oh and a toque :)

You get a better view of the game on the T.V. then sitting in any arena, with heads and posts and boards etc. in the way.

Worked at PNE Colesium for a full season working security for Center Ice member's club lounge at Canucks games in 90/91.

It's just not the same on the tube.

I still have my 1982 Stanley Cup towel.

P.S. and Lu too!
Not so fast! He still needs to steal a game before he's taken out of my bad book.

I doubt if it's my age but I find the puck does tend to get away from me on the T.V. Pucks should be black and orange stripes.

exactly what is center ice members club, do they still have that? or is it just club seats.

14 minutes to go...

I got butterflies this time for some strange reason....

Go Canucks Go!!!!

someone on the radio said "It's allright to have butterflies as long as they are all flying in the
same direction"

remember when fox sports first did hockey on tv, they put an orange lit up tail on the puck, to help the
u.s. fans follow the game, not literally a tail, but a glowing thing, it was the lamest thing I ever saw, and very embarrassing to any canadian hockey fan, very kindergarteny looking.

I just heard on team 1040 that there is a strong rumour floating around that canucks will buy a
farm team and locate it in the lower mainland somewhere, sounds exciting to me, and good
rivalry for the abbotsford heat, calgary's farm team, (or maybe they will replace them), would be more fun if they are both in the lower mainland somewhere.

looks like the manitoba moose is going to St. Johns

The version I saw not only had an orange contrail, but sound effects as well. I couldn't watch anymore...

The Vancouver Canucks set five postseason club records in their 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks in Game 4 of the Western Conference final:
4
Most assists by one player in a game, Henrik Sedin.
9
Most assists by one player in a series, Sedin.
1:55
Fastest three goals, in minutes and seconds.
16
Fastest two goals, in seconds, by one player, Sami Salo.

Bruins v Tampa game is a complete no hitter.

I dunno Kres, the hits sure seemed to be there in the 2nd. Some beauts from both sides. Boston is up 2 - 1 after the 2nd. Timmie Thomas has really been super in goal tonight. He kept the team in until they finally started moving mid-way thru the 2nd. Both Boston goals came in the 2nd with TB getting theirs in the opening minutes of the first.

Both teams inhale a bit when it comes to the PP but come through on the PK - no goals were scored on PPs, this in spite of Boston having a 2 man advantage at one point. TB has more shots on goal but are behind on the scoreboard. TB has had some great scoring chances but have been turned away with saves by Timmie who ' came right out to the edge of the paint' to grab a beauty in the last minute of the 2nd.

Boston seemed to finally get some rhythm going very late in the 2nd, sure hope it continues into the 3rd as the Bolts are ready to strike at any moment. Tim's going to be tested big again. Mike Smith is in goal for TB.

Come on Boston - this is yours to win. Patience. NO MORE PENALTIES. Keep your heads up and your eyes on the puck!

It strikes me that neither of these teams are really going to be a big challenge for Vancouver - individual players, sure, but the Canucks have something really special that neither of these teams do - finesse. Boston and TB are great teams with lots of heart and grit but the Canucks have poise and play with a larger degree of intelligence given the chance. After watching the Canucks last night and comparing their game with this one - the Canucks would already have 4 or 5 on the board, IMHO.

Boston comes away with the win! 3 - 1 with an empty net goal in the final seconds of the third. Way to go, Boston. They now lead the series 3 - 2 and the game goes back to TB.

Tim Thomas was the star of the game for the Bruins. He always look calm and was seen to laugh with the team and the refs - but he was spot on in the clutch. I have to find a photo of his second save on Downie - Tim called it a desperation save - but it was picture perfect.

It was an exciting game with a lot of back and forth from zone to zone and some really neat action in the neutral zone. Right up to the end, I figured the Bolts were at least going to tie the game but Boston persevered.

I like Boston, cheering for them to win, but haven't a clue, up for grabs, but boston in the drivers
seat now.

One thing that drives me batty about boston, is their speed, there are a few players who seem to
have to count to 3 before they can get their asses going, just big guys with big bodies, but the
brain also seems slow sometimes.

But that speed of tampa bays still doesn't intimidate Boston, because tampa has other weaknesses,
which takes away from their speed.

yeah, it seems vancouver is the best team playing right now, but to turn that talent into wins
is another story, still have to play the games, and bring the A game, every game.

looks like erhoff might play tomorrow, probably will be game time decision, as
injury is not as serious as first thought, but even if he can't, the fill ins did
just fine, and there are more where they came from too, I think canucks have an
assembly line of defencemen waiting in the wings.

Having Cheered the Canucks on in the last two Stanley Cup attempts I admit I am cautiously optimistic.

so many canuck fans are afraid to let themselves go, and really enjoy this run they are on, they
are almost there, and if they don't make it now, its OK, they'll do it next year.

wow, no one wants to hear that do they, next year is like another lifetime away, but it is truly
how I feel.
they will have same team next year, but even stronger, and if they win it all, they can still come
back next year and do it again, wouldn't that be cool.

I'm lovin this, enjoying every moment, and i'm not worried in the least, lets just get fully behind
all of them and cheer and holler louder and louder the closer they get.

I was very worried and nervous during the chicago series, as I knew if they lost that one, they
would be so trashed, and I didn't want to see them treated like that, but that is in the past
now, and won't happen if they don't make it, oh I guess by a few, but those are just the babies
that can't take it.

I watched fan590 this afternoon on sportsnet. All the Toronto sports jockeys. You can see the Vancouver Canucks are really pissing off T.O.'s finest homers.

I couldn't agree more about Boston's lack of speed on the ice, talloola - they almost look like their skating in molasses sometimes. And yeah, they have a hard time focusing on the puck and thinking ahead of the play - some of those missed passes almost made me weep. I was glad to see Chara really 'elevate' his game tonight - he was all over the ice and gave as good as he got with the constant battles. I have to laugh when I watch Chara take someone out - all it seems to take is a tap and wham they are on the ice - like swatting a fly. LOL!

They are showing an interview with Tim right now and he is talking about visualization in preparing for the game saying, 'of course I am going to visualize us winning, I'm not going to visualize us losing!' Some reporters ask such silly questions.

They owe this game to Timmie, IMHO - even the Bolt's coach thinks so. LOL!

Both Ballard and Tanev were solid for the Canucks, so I agree that Erhoff coming back or not won't make much of a difference. I want to see Ballard hip check someone else tomorrow night - that was so pretty. LOL!

GO, CANUCKS, GO!

The first half of that game was a no-hitter, literally. No one finished checks. Everyone turned away.
If Vancouver plays either of them those Eastern teams will see physical play they have not yet encountered.
