canucks played their best game of this road trip tonight, against san jose. back end of back to back
games didn't phase them at all.

schneider played solid, and burrows was first star, but the whole team was sharp and matched san jose
goal for goal, then scored the extra to win 4-3

they swept this road trip, dallas, colorado and san jose.

they continue to sit 'on top' of the NHL, don't know about others, but for me this is very exciting
and this team is just rolling right now, at the half-way mark of the season.

salo is travelling and skating with the team, but when he steps on the ice they will have dropped
a little over a million of cap space, so maybe they will wait as long as they can, to see just how
they will do that.

no hurry to put him back in the line-up, the team is humming along just fine without him.

HOME NOW - calgary wed., edmonton fri., and detroit sat.

GO CANUCKS GO
Somehow, in the last dozen games or so, the Canucks have picked up a load of confidence. They have dominated Colorado and they don't seem to care whether it is a home or away game. I guess what is happening, is that they are playing like a first place team. At the moment, I don't know who is going to knock them out of first place. They keep on playing at this level, they will have a sizable lead on everyone. They are the hottest team in the NHL right now.

Heard Gillis talking about Salo today, and he said that the injury is still bothering
him, a very serious injury, which can take a very long time to heal. The 'heal'
area, so they are not hurrying him along at all, in fact he hinted that he might
not play at all this season, but no confirmation either way.

Good to see Schneider being so consistent and everyone putting in the effort and contributing what they can.

These Are The Days-and back in the Bad Old Days we could only dream of the team playing like it is now.

yes, another good win for canucks. I'm a little concerned about the number of shots they are
allowing recently, but they are still finding a way to win.

Hope they tighten up a little, and not allow so many shots against in future games.

It's very hard to criticize a team rolling like they are right now, just a little something I've
noticed, (picky picky picky), lol.

Well tallola, the Juniors may have lost but the Canucks and the Penguins - who I cheer for - were great last night. Hope both teams can keep this up for the long run.

The Canucks lost to Detroit last night in a bloody shoot out. The Canucks had a bit of an edge in the play and led 1 - 0 until well into the third but Detroit managed to tie the game at one all in the third. I'm pretty sure the Canucks out shot the Wings but the game went to a shoot out and the Canucks just had trouble getting pucks past the Detroit netminder while Detroit got a few by Luongo.
THe Canucks are still first place in the NHL and the have a game in hand over Detroit. It was Vancouver's third game in three nights so I hope they are well rested the next time these two teams meet

No worries- they shouldn't have too much trouble with the next two games, unless they get complacent, but I think Detroit probably saw to that.

Excellent game by the two top teams in the league, (right now), and fitting that it came down to a
shoot out, I would not have chosen tamballini as our first shooter, but that's beside the point, it was
still a good game.
Canucks still remain in first place, but have lost one point on detroit, so they must keep on keepin on,
and keep pushing all those top teams.

five game road trip now, first game tuesday against the islanders, who, even though they sit near the
bottom, have played better lately, and one can't underestimate them, they have some good players, with
tavaris leading the way, an excellent player, so canucks will have to be at their best.

Yippee, Canuck's solid lead continues.

And there's icing on the cake, the Flames (Flickers) lost a shootout.

rather interesting game indeed. canucks all over them in the first but only scored one goal.
game turned around in the second, and isles came on and took over the game, but only scored
one.
Grabner really showed up, pretty typical, as players who play their old teams, who discarded them
usually come out guns a blazen and he did, but also, as he did when he was with us, skated hard played
well, but could not score, he must learn to do that, then he will be a force.

Only when canucks's backs were against the wall did their wildest efforts come alive, and in
the shoot out kesler came to the rescue and scored a beauty.

good for them, we are now 3 points up on detroit with one game in hand.

canucks won it in a shoot out. 4-3

I'm normally happy seeing the flames lose too JLM, but at the moment, flames are canucks
last team of interest, as they are so far behind now, that any threat they may have had
in the past has dissapeared.

detroit and dallas remain canucks main threats at the moment, as canucks sit on top of the
western conference, (and the league for that matter), so pittsburg, philladelphia, tampa bay
and can't forget about washington either.

calgary has 41 points, compared to canucks 62

in our division colorado is 12 pts behind in second place, so in a rather short time, canucks
have opened up a big gap in front of them.
minnesota -47 and edmonton - 43

if canucks ever come to the point where we are worrying about flames, we will be a sorry lot.

canucks are rolling along great right now, don't think they can keep up this
pace till end of the season, but even if they lose one here and there, they will
still be near the top.

The big threat is 'injuries'.

but even after all the factual and sensible words above, the flames still 'just
suck', like always. lol

You're right about the Flames, but I want to see Edmonton beat them (still hoping Edmonton can seize a playoff spot) LOL

Well, I'm glad to see another streak starting. Will it be longer than the last one? It keeps getting curiouser and curiouser- lose to the Rangers yet thump Washington.

They've one more to go JLM, so could improve on the 500, tomorrow in colorado.

Yes, they played a stinker yesterday, the team was definitely not 100%, skating was lacking, and
just about everyone was so so, and yeah, we'll forget that one, I guess road trips can do that to
teams, sneak up on them. I know when they step on the ice they don't know they are going to be
playing at a second rate level, and as farraro said, "you keep telling yourself, come on get going,
get going, but it just doesn't happen." Schneider was good, but had no support.

We have two defencemen out now, don't anything about alberts injury, so I wonder how that will
affect the return of Salo.
