I see the death toll has risen to nine.It looks like one of the elevator trim tabs pulled off. If it was jamming the elevator operation
the pilot probably became a passenger.

No control at all?
Would the trim tab being pulled off be caused by stress?
Another thing is that the elevators appear to in a neutral position. If the pilot was trying to pull outAnything is possible. The elevator trim is operated by a trim wheel
operated by the pilot. From the larger picture, the altitude, the nose down
attitude, That aircraft was already lost.
We can see that a good part of the elevator trim
was broken away from the elevator and appeared to be swinging in the
breeze. When it broke away, it could have jammed the elevator

Manned flight is amazing. Pilots in my opinion are so underpaid.
Juan, modesty aside, you are our expert in flight. Seeing what you saw in the photo, was the pilot really just a passenger?
The air show crash in Ukraine a few years ago was probably the worst air show crash ever.
WARNING!!! Don't watch if you get squeamish at the sight of blood and body parts...

Eagle there are at least a couple possibilities. One, the elevator was jammed and the pilot had no control. Two, the pilot could have lost conscousness because of heart failure brought on by "g" forces. Whatever the problem was, the elevator was in a neutral position
when the aircraft hit the ground.

I actually posted (and promptly deleted it) something about him being 74 years old and racing P-51s. A lot of 74+ year olds find themselves spinning their wheels inside of a drugstore not knowing how they got there.
These unlimited air racers get a lot of modifications. That particular aircraft had a different engine, a very low profile canopy, no oil cooler, and
probably a few things that I didn't see. All of these things let the aircraft go a little faster......otherwise why do them. If the plane goes
75 knots faster, maybe some parts can't tolerate the extra speed and stress. or maybe an elevator control cable broke. The technical people will likely find out exactly what went wrong. What I am doing is educated speculating.
Juan, There is a new video of the crash and this guy (to me it appears) went nose in at top speed. It does not look like he had any control or even time to do anything if he even had partial control. The plane absolutely disintergrates.
Just wondering if you've got a link for that new video?
