Sometimes-well make that All the Time-a person should check the date on posts-this thread is 13 years old.

OMG! And it necessitated you taking precious seconds out of your life to let everyone know. Your life has been irreparably altered.

You should sue!

Put them into a work camp for their room and board in a no booze and drug facility and pay them a small wage and when they are ready to go then pay them and put them into a group home until they are ready go on their own.

He's "serious". One must remember that it is liberalman making the comment. What needs to be asked is.....Are YOU taking him serious or should that be in purple?

yeah I kind of was...and if he is serious then I would have further questions for him on issues such as mental illness etc

if he isn't, it's just a drive by

and that's okay too, but sometimes it's hard to tell

Yeah, you're right.. There is absolutely, 100% no connection between the 2.

Case closed

The vast majority of those on welfare are not homeless. Many, many homeless are not on welfare. So, no, there really isn't a very big connection between the two. Welfare and homelessness are 2 different problems.

Well I'm going to take a wild stab at it, but if a person is on welfare, would that be a reason they are not homeless..

Shouldn't there be a better way to transition people back into the workforce.

Here is an interesting social experiment to see how Canadians and Americans react to the homeless. This experiment was shot in the cold for 30 minutes. We were surprised by how different the responses were.

Heartless bastards south of the border.. ;)

Jeez, there's no end some people won't go to, to dig up misery!

Put them into a work camp for their room and board in a no booze and drug facility and pay them a small wage and when they are ready to go then pay them and put them into a group home until they are ready go on their own.

It might work for a few, but with a lot of people when they feel limits are being imposed, it can have the opposite effect!

Small percentage is mental illness majority of homeless are able bodied and can be helped to be more productive and workfare can do the job.
