Woman photographed in hijab on Westminster Bridge responds to online abuse

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...also a thousand misinterpretations as well I suppose.

Just because that's what she is saying doesn't mean it's true. She WOULD say that.

As long as she walks around in public with that stupid rag on her head she can expect people to be suspicious of her.
Muslims who claim to be peaceful and distressed by the violence in the name of Islam should have learned by now that in a western society, religious people frown on public religious symbols. If they want to fit in and be accepted they must assimilate to the accepted standards of the country they are in.

Correct. I couldn't agree more. One problem with Muslims in Western society is that they don't want to assimilate into Western society and our governments are encouraging them not to assimilate.

What that young lady chooses to wear as head gear is none of her fu cking business

That's not true. What people wear IS the business of other people. If you were walking down the street and you saw someone wearing a T-shirt saying "Kill all f*cking queers" my betting is that you would find such a thing offensive and would want such T-shirts banned.

As for Muslim headscarves, the EU - which still includes Britain for now - came out last week saying that employers in all member states can ban Muslim women wearing headscarves. So if that woman was on her way to work that morning her boss would have been well within his or her rights, according to EU law, to tell her to take the headscarf off.

So are Jewish men told to remove their little caps? What about Orthodox Jews and their hats?

What about Nuns and their caps?

In the US and Canada, there are Christian branches that say women must have their hair covered, what about them?

Why are Muslim women the only women picked on for their coverings?

Why should Muslim 'normalize' their appearance to placate people?

You really are a useless c*nt, aren't you. That "rag" is really no different than the kercheif that my grandmother used to wear or the Queen herself sometimes wears.
You are in a very civil mood I see . Please look in the mirror and consider the source before posting . Your mother that wore a rag on her head would wash your mouth out with soap if she heard you talking that way .

I see, then don't. Would it have been better if I had called her a useless bastard? Would that have hurt your sensibilities less?

See, I'm not a fu cking misogynist. I treat both male and female members the same. Or does treating them equally make me a misogynist?
No it makes you an A-hole and renders your opinions useless , because no one cares what an A-hole thinks .

So ... by your own logic, if someone wears sexy clothing, they're asking to be raped? Give your head a shake....

Let me make my point clear. Suppose a Canadian woman went to an Islamic country, say Saudi Arabia, and walked around the streets in a halter top and shorts with her cheeks hanging out, do you think she would be well received? It would be a disrespectful thing to do at best and dangerous at worst. How safe would Christian or a Jew be in an Islamic country sporting a large conspicuous cross or a Star of David?

People who go against entrenched customs in any country can expect to be treated accordingly. Human nature is human nature and will not be changed. These days when people are losing their national identity many are longing for their traditional way of life to be respected and adhered to. Do they not have a right to their feelings?

Muslims should know by this time that they are considered troublemakers by many people. It would be in their own best interests to NOT flaunt their religion when they must know that it will alienate them from society.

Calling me names for my logical reasoning is immature and counter productive. I'm simply being realistic. That's what reality is. It isn't always 'nice'. When reality doesn't jive with the ideological views of others those others resort to name-calling. Those 'name-callers' appear to be cowards who can't face reality.

What name? Subscribing to the alternate facts thing are we?

Let me make this clearer.... Call the freaking thing a kerchief. Mom wore one ... and she was never Muslim. I believe you see that which feeds your bigotry - as in wishing the worst for Bill Cosby for his alleged dalliances with the ladies ... but your blind adoration for Trump - a jerk who groped for his own daughter on national television and spoke of his entitlement to inspect the goods since he owned the Miss America pageant.

Shame on you Bubba

And yet in Canada certain religions are allowed to wear bedsheets warped around their heads instead of the uniform headgear everyone else must wear. Special rights for special people.

When was a dress code imposed on the world? What's it matter as long as your azz is covered?

Worry more about what what your governments are doing to you. They've already done it to the folk they tell you to hate

That's what people who can't think objectively do - they call names. Not to care! Their 'name-calling' reveals them to be trash.

[/QUOTE
Certain countries impose dress codes, not 'the world' That's the right of sovereign countries to impose whatever codes they see fit and none of our business. But when we go to those countries we have to observe THEIR codes and there's nothing wrong with that.

It doesn't matter to me personally. Even if they don't cover their azzes, I've seen azzes before.
But it does matter to a lot of people and those to whom it matters will harass them. So they can expect it and not act horrified when it happens. Those to whom dress doesn't matter have no right to attack people whose opinions are different. Everyone has an equal right to his opinion and an equal right to express it. Respectfully.

There's too many people who are narrow-minded and can't allow anyone to feel differently than they do. Those are the people who trample on free speech and divide the country into 'us' against 'them'. They are the ones who need to grow a brain.

Well said. Too bad it wasn't as well practised

BTW.... Britain (the place of which we speak) imposes no dress code - nor does Canada. Yes, there are places where you dress appropriately. Ironically, they also seem to be the same places the Western world has chosen to impose its will ... causing the crap in the first place.

Nations with foreign policies of meddling and that which amounts to date rape should be proud of themselves for the war they've created and drawn upon themselves

I don't respect stupidity or racism/bigotry. I don't care if they are male or female. He/she/it doesn't get a pass just because they are, or claim to be, female.
