Or not as opening.

It's OK JLM. It happens. I know it is easier to be amused at the struggle of others from afar. However when it hits home as this clearly has in Canada, it brings out a side that you've kept hidden.

I'm not aware of keeping anything hidden. I've always believed in calling a spade a spade. -:)

Money is a great way to keep people honest. Businesses often say there are no workers available when they actually could find workers if they just paid them more.

Making it cost more means that companies wont hire TFW unless they really need them.

Maybe that says something about paying welfare to people who are REALLY qualified to work. -:)

I'm not sure that we have a "tea party" in Canada, whatever that is! And I'm definitely unaware of what that has to do with hiring practices. In Canada (for those too thick to understand) we have a policy of paying what the job is worth, not the f**king colour of their skin or what language they speak. A$$holes in parliament that advocate that will be short lived in power.
For those who don't know it Jason Kenney does NOT impress me, but he's not my M.P. so it's up to others to "deep six" him.

They should scrap the whole thing. If a company can't find workers in the local area than that business is in the wrong place.

Au contraire, actually pretty clear thinking, generally. Why would I be angry? Nobody has done anything to harm me?

First you are saying that Canadians should have first shot at jobs, but you also don't seem to want to put any extra burden on employers who want to hire foreign workers, then you are mad at people on welfare.......

There was a recent report in the news about a lady who was from Peru and married to a Canadian. She'd been here just about a year or just over a year and was due to give birth. She was told she could not be put on her husbands medical and would have to pay $20,000 hospital fees in order to have her baby here.

Would that her case be different then foreign workers? Would they be given special exemption and so qualify for health benefits?

I think I know the case your talking about. This woman's problem is bureaucratic. In order for her to get health insurance from her provincial provider she needs federal documents which are currently stuck in Immigration's backlog.

Health is a provincial matter and so there are different rules for each province, but TFWs are supposed to get insurance from their employers until such a time that they are eligible for provincial insurance. This woman from Peru is sponsored by her husband.

Ummmmmmmmmmm, better rethink that one. There's lots of places in the world where consumers out number workers!-:)

Hard to be a consumer if you aren't working. Bringing in TWFs won't change anything for the 'consumers' here who aren't working.

Ahhhh... you really believe that?

Right now I can choose, for no other reason but want or desire, not to work and I will be handed a lower middle class to middle class lifestyle from my state and federal government.

"Imposable" to unionize them.... lmao

I realize we share a common language with the americans, and one wonders if it is a language issue or just stupidity that gets in the way.

The concept of "temporary" workers eagleschmuck seems to elude you.
No union would dare venture trying to unionize temporary foreign workers and have those workers ask of their union to use their resources and legal teams to keep them in a country that is kicking them out at the end of their term.

Do I need to explain it in finer detail , or can I assume that you have a semblance of comprehension.

Actually I was just laughing at "imposable". You with your superior intelligence and all.

Yeah right.
It's not so much superior intelligence it's just a matter of intelligence eagle schmuck .
