Hope what? That Canada breaks apart?

I no longer care if Quebec stays. If they choose to leave, meet the requirements of the Clarity Act, negotiate their secession with the Feds and all Provs., take on their debt, and leave with the land they came with (1867 Borders). That First Nations also retain the right to stay, including keeping their lands in Canada.
Then they can go.

No, you stated that "you can only hope" in regards to Quebec separating. That implies that you want to see the break up of Canada. That you "hope" for the break up of Canada.

Take from it what you will. I expanded upon that now did I not.
I have stated the same conditions time and again for many years.

Hope...I pray for them to separate on a regular basis. They aren't really Canadian anyway. As was mentioned they still haven't signed onto the Constitution Act of 1982 and they themselves continually claim they are French first (not that France would take them) and a distinct society. Get rid of them already.

Because they're a founding group of our country, part of our cultural heritage? Despite some of the stupid shyte some of them pull.

Oh I know. I don't actually want to see the country pulled apart.

They just piss me off sometimes.

And my family is French-Canadian!

My old man used to get pissed at me because I defended Quebec (he considered himself 100% French and he hated the quebecois) and said very little about my native roots. I defended Quebec, I never defended the useless quebecois. The separatists. Unlike some, I can differentiate.

If Quebec want to go they have to follow the law. And if they go, then goodbye to them
As to them being one of 3 founding nations, I agree. If they decide to leave and meet the legal requirements set out by the Clarity Act and upheld by the SCoC, no one can legally prevent them from leaving.
And we know how First nations voted in the 96 referendum.
Overwhelmingly to stay within Canada.

Fair enough. I lived in Ottawa for a long time, it's hard sometimes to remember more than just the attitude because it was all around at the time. The difficult part can be listening to "We don't like it here, we don't like you, we want to go." After a while you just want to say "well fuk, then go". You know?

I really don't want to see the nation torn apart though.

Very narrow.

All of Ruperts Land will revert back to the First Nations and 100kms north of the St Lawrance will be ceded to the Mohawk.
That boat sailed a few hundred years ago...
