And we know how First nations voted in the 96 referendum.
Overwhelmingly to stay within Canada.
They know where the gravy train is.

The 1st would be the First Nations would it not?
Partially true, but it's more a matter of fact that they know who is more likely to stick to treaties (Even relatively speaking), and they also know who will uphold a better standard of human rights laws. They know where the gravy train is.
Fair enough. I lived in Ottawa for a long time, it's hard sometimes to remember more than just the attitude because it was all around at the time. The difficult part can be listening to "We don't like it here, we don't like you, we want to go." After a while you just want to say "well fuk, then go". You know?
I really don't want to see the nation torn apart though.
which First Nations? You do realize that First Nations encompasses a lot more than just one nation? Do you not? Are you talking about just the Mohawk Confederation? If so, then why not include all the Salish Nations (to which my wife's family belongs), or the Blackfoot Nations? How about the Anishinaabe, which Bear's wife and my maternal side come from?
In his defense Gh, I've heard many people refer to the First Nations as one entity, believing the Assembly thereof was a collective voice.which First Nations? I have mentioned 2 - Guess on the 3rd. Go ahead take a walk on the wild side and guess. Then answer the question. Which "3" founding nations were you referring to?

I think ignorance is to strong a word in this case. That's not a "defense", that's perpetuating ignorance.

Geezus, you can't even insult someone without embarrassing yourself.Bear's wife is your mother? I knew there was inbreeding in the tribes but really....

Given the shyte he fills post after post with, his ****.Really? where do you think nicky get's his "non information" from?
It's all in the context and intent. Goober made an error, ya, lazy, but he isn't malicious or stupid like PNhead. From idiots that should know better but are too lazy to post the full truth. That's how you get ignorant, stupid comments like "3 founding nations".
I concur for the most part.and if we really want to get technical, Canada was not "founded" by any of the First Nations. At the time that Canada was formed, none of the First Nations peoples had given up their autonomy and thus were independent. At the time that the Dominion of Canada was formed, it was a British colony and ONLY a British colony as the French had already been defeated and ceded their territory of Lower Canada to the British. Both Lower Canada(Quebec) and Upper Canada were "owned" by the Brits when Canada was "born". It's called revisionist history to try and keep the quebecois happy and the First Nations happy and feeling included.

I'm not here to "teach" anyone. If you haven't "learned" basic history by now, it would be a lost cause to try and "teach" you now.
What are you babbling about now?Yadda, yadda, blah, blah. The 'first nations' were originally immigrants from eastern asia who in turn were immigrants from africa. What does it f*cking matter who was what 400 or 4000 years ago. None of it is productive to Canada today. When are you dumb f*cks gonna realize that and learn to make your own way looking to the future not fighting battles from the distant past.
