I find it hard to believe that 47% of the people of Toronto have no ethics.
Anyone who could defend this nonsense has no real perspective of the
community. He is an embarrassment to the city and a disgrace for a leader.
Oh well what else can we expect from the center of the universe.

Fortunately, the government doesn't exist just to cater to your needs.

It is pretty ****ty to transfer the tax burden from a wider group like all drivers, to just people who use services like rec centers. The clients of the rec centers are disproportionately lower income people with greater needs. They are one of the few places that young families can get care and engaging activities for their kids at a reasonable price. They are places that marginalized adults can get engaged in the community.

Well, we have yet to see a poll based on this last incident, but I am not going to hold my breath that it will change much.

The best part of this incident is that it comes with multiple layers of crazy. Not only is he drunk in public again, but he is also hanging out with Sandro Lisi. Who here likes playing connect the dots?

There is plenty of crazy to go round in this case you are right.
we should develop a sitcom about this and make it a weekly

I think old Rob is getting close to the end of his "ball of twine". He's obviously got at least two problems, one of which has to be stupidity (if he intends to hang on as mayor). I suppose one should never give up on these people but he does try one's patience. On the plus side I worked for a severe alcoholic for years and his boss never gave up on him, but he did do some "tough love", finally he quit going to on to live sober for almost 25 years. So you just can't never tell!

I hope the guy can figure this out soon, I really do. He has a young family that would probably be better off if he were alive and healthy.

It is way easier for people to give him the room to get better if he isn't squatting in the mayors office though. As long as he is in his current job he has to be held to a certain standard.

If he wants to get drunk and stoned with criminals, he can do that all he wants when he is a private citizen and he will be under no obligation to answer to anyone about it(save possibly for the cops).

Agreed 100%. It is not a political issue. It is a personal issue. Let's leave it as that. I do I hope he gets the help he needs and wish him the best in that regard. Drying out is never easy.

But I am curious, if your motives were not political, what were they?

It isn't political but it certainly isn't private either. He is still a prominent public figure and he is doing this stuff in public. People are unquestionably interested in this stuff.

Getting drunk and/or high in public isn't a political issue. It is an issue or basic conduct and health

The public at large is a little "blood thirsty", just love to see a person of social stature fail. If the guy is an A$$hole it's hard not to gloat, but under normal circumstances it's tragic. Is it a case of self destruction or is it a case of being over rated from the get go?

I think there is still an obligation to pay something toward their maintenance, even though they aren't driving they are in all likelihood having goods delivered to them.

The roads are for everyone. The police use them, the firemen use them, ambulances use them. All kinds od delivery people use them. Not driving is no justification not to pay for road maintenance.
