RE: I'M TRAVELLING TO CANADA I NEED HELP

All big moves are frightening Toast Guy. Its a big step. Its a drastic change. Its part of growing. I have made several changes to my life at various times for various reasons. I don't regret one them. There have been some bad times because of it ...however, the good times far out weigh any misfortune that has befallen me.

My last big move was from Canada to the US. I have a loving wife that I love very much. That outweighs many of the trials and tribulations I have experienced in immigrating. I may not be in the profession of my choosing...but that to, will come.

Look at it this way you are coming here to learn. Look at the move as part of the learning experience. Already on this site alone...how many people are willing to help you and provide advice ? If you ask for help, I have found that Canadians generally respond.

People that only focus on the negative of any particular subject, I immediately suspect of having an agenda of some sort.

Whining is another part of the Canadian culture . Its infectious , once again.

Toastguy , dont be afraid . You have to come and try for yourself . you might be luckier than most. But being brave is the first step.

CARPE DIEM!!! Toast...life is short, you have been given a wonderful opportunity, grab it. Canadain observer is really another character who comes here all the time with his bitterness and whining...he is a individual who has not learned that when life gives you lemons...make lemonade...Do not let him scare you.

Re: I'M TRAVELLING TO CANADA I NEED HELP

Hey peapod , Did'nt I make enough lemonades already ??? three jobs my man. What I'm trying to say is tell it as it is.

Immigrants really have to go through all these difficulties before the lemonades are sold . The way you picture things in canada are so rosy , anyone including me of course, bought it. Hence the bitterness .

Would you rather have me beating the crap out of a loudmouthed local than pouring out my suppressed anger and frustration in a forum full of Proud canadians ????

Its not as simple as ubergod says a big move or decision . Part of growing up. For him Canada is just across the border , no visa needed.

Most immigrants have to give up Businesses , jobs , sold their houses , leave their families , some forever. Thousands of saved money spent for the landing fees , immigration fees , plane tickets and necessities while looking for that elusive job, pulled their kids out of school , away from their friends.

That failing in their new country and going back home is a suicide. remember that cultures are different. Its not that simple.

Yes , you can make lemonades ,toastguy but no thanks to people who knowingly mislead you.

RE: I'M TRAVELLING TO CANADA I NEED HELP

canadian observer:
so, let me get this straight.
you had a business, a career, a home, family, a successful life, etc etc.
you gave it all up to immigrate to another country of your choice, of your own freewill, at your own instigation.
this country accepts you and allows you to move in and bring all your family and start a new life.

and for this, you complain. you whine. you denigrate canada and canadians.

how absurd.
