Smoke from raging B.C. fires seen from space by NASA satellite

The fires raging in British Columbia aren't just confined to the province: a NASA satellite captured the smoke as it blanketed the skies over Alberta and Saskatchewan earlier this week.
There are nearly 600 fires burning across B.C. which is in its third day of a province-wide state of emergency. Between Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon 36 new fires started, mostly sparked by lightning.

Are people faced with possible evacuation imminent going to look on a gossip forum for instructions?
The problem is now becoming where does one or hundreds evacuate to?? Between floods, fires, wars it becomes clear there will soon not be enough of anything to go around.

It is like the middle-ages with the plague.......Populations may be cut in half and instead of the future we as humans invisaged we could face extinction. What we hopefully may have is recovery from all our foolishness . Our choice is becoming more and more limited.......Do we move towards a world where humanity takes a step back and realizes we are part and parcel of a system that needs input, and become the caretakers we need to be or go the ways or go the way of the dodo.

Whether the evacuees read the forums or not, those who lend aid do not need to. We need to help each other or we are lost. While not a religious person, I certainly acknowledge the golden rule. I just think it needs to go a lot further. Instead of doing unto others, perhaps providing as much as possible to all systems of our world as we perceive to be needful.

There's one main problem with the forest fires...…………….the timing. Fires are basically good, they get rid of garbage, including rotten and bug eaten wood and gets some oxygen back in the soil. But Mother Nature has f**ked up on the timing and has too many fires going all at once. Now that we've had extensive burning two summers in a row, we may get a respite for four or five years.

Eventually, the fuel will all be gone ...

Amazing how that's reversed itself. The Italian penninsula used to be the center of get-it-done know-how, too.

Climate Change.

It's those damn trees talking to each other and forming a suicide pact.

Just a matter of days to the first frost.

Hurricane Season will be a dud. For some odd reason the Atlantic is cold.

Hopefully, but it could be Oct. here before we see any frost. I know Regina is only good for about 90 frost free days, which I'm guessing will happen in about 2 - 3 weeks.
