I don't think bombing women and children from billion dollar stealth bombers or dumping phosphorous on them is any less cowardly - actually it's more so.
The US brought 9/11 on themselves. They started this clash of civilizations and are losing the war badly. It has become a war of terrorist v.s. terrorist. I have lost sympathy for either side. They both look like morons to me. I just feel for the little kids and women caught in the middle of these battling buffoons.
After thinking about this I've amended my position slightly. Americans didn't bring 9/11 upon themselves any more then all the civilians in Iraq or Afghanistan brought the war upon themselves. Only a few people and their actions have done this.
The American government through it's foreign policy is responsible and the fanatics who seem to think that getting what they personally want is worth many many lost civilian lives.
Place the blame where it belongs, don't throw it like a blanket.
