I disagree Reverend Blair. In Manitoba if you have a marriage license, you have to perform Same Sex Marriages. A man wouldn't perform a same sex marriage because he did not believe that it was right, and the province removed his license. So your comment about the freedom of churches etc... is not entirely true. I myself have no problem with Same Sex Marriages, however I can see where Harper is coming from. Ultimately I do think the Conservatives will suffer because of Stephen Harper's stance, however I really hope it doesn't reflect it in the next election. I truely believe that the Conservative party would be an excellent government after they decide on their platforms.

The Reform/Alliance/Conservatives will never form a government. They scare people. They are too pro-American, they are too close to the Republicans, and they are too willing to push their religious beliefs on others. That doesn't sell in most of Canada.
The country as whole has also been moving left for the past ten years or so. Canada is a socially progressive country. The Reform Alliance/Conservatives have been moving the other way. They are out of step with the Canadian people. Because of that if they were to form a government they would do very poorly.

That is why it is essential that we keep the issue out of the public forum and don't let the "tyranny of the majority" to squash the minority.
